So I looked at the Nintendo Channel's numbers on Conduit trying to determine tentative numbers but I've forgotten how to do the math.

The total hours spent playing are 74,522. The average per player is 10 hours and 42 minutes. So about 116 people have the game who use the Nintendo Channel tracking feature. The question is what percentage is that of the total. I've forgotten what that was. Does anyone know? 5% is stuck in my mind but that would mean only about 2320 people got the game so that can't be right. Am I off on my math? Can anyone help me turn this data into a rough figure? Or do we not have enough data to come up with a figure. I'm rusty with this kind of math. Maybe it's 0.5% but that still lowballs it at 23,200. 0.05% would make it 232,000.

I only have my Wii available to me right now so I can't easily search for the actual percentage numbers. I found it on a site attempting to predict WiiWare sales. Also, is my math right if the percentages are accurate?

Might be fun if we could try and calculate the sales. I suppose we could try a control calculation with a game that's total sales are better known (like Mario Kart or something) to find the correct percentage. I'll try it out tomorrow when I have access to a proper computer.

Doesn't it only track if you log into the Nintendo channel? I raley open it up and go in and I think most people would be like that.

It only tracks you if you actually use the Nintendo channel - and tell it to share your information.

Nintendo channel #'s are nothing you should bother trying to build a trend from.
Not nearly enough data from a large enough sample size to do anything meaningful with.

Considering you have to connect online to buy VC/WW games, I would say the average person buying VC/WW games is more aware of the Nintendo Channel than other Wii owners.

True. But I'm going to try and work backwards with a known number like Animal crossing or Mario Kart Wii and see if I can find a loose percentage to apply to Conduit and see what it is. Might be a fun way of predicting sales before NPD comes out.

It at least broke this years records. Mario & Luigi 3 didn't even reach 700k since it was released so that's saying something. It nearly outsold Pokemon Platinum's LTD numbers in two days. Krikey! People aren't kidding when they say DQ is a huge seller.
