For anyone concerned about the possibility of analog? Direct your attention to the VERY under appreciated Neo Geo Pocket Color. Why this thing never got to take off vs. GBC I'll never know.

1 controller holding Z gets you the ahem...babyish noises. Having 4 controllers holding Z gets you the guy yelling startup.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo wants your thoughts!!!
« on: May 04, 2004, 12:18:06 AM »
I swear if I hear one more person whine about how Nintendo is just so off base about online gaming, I may go insane....again.

Now would I like to see Nintendo online? Well sure, why the hell not? I mean the sheer thought of Mario Tennis online is enough to make me forget about the rest of my life and get used to just being found on Nintendo's servers and nowhere else but I digress. Am I, however, going to think Nintendo is nuts for not having an online plan? Hells no. Nintendo has played this little game before (See: multiple times) and have fallen on their faces. I can clearly be understanding of them wanting to tread lightly into it this time.

For those who like to think Nintendo going online will magically make like half their problems go away (Seriously, read some of your posts. A few of you sound like this I swear.) you're more or less going to be dead wrong. 3rd parties aren't shying away because of a lack of an online scheme, though I do give you that that is a factor some 3rd parties may consider, of note here's your random out of nowhere thought of the day though. If 3rd parties want to bend over backward to put all this online stuff in so much....why the heck do we get crappy ports which, I believe, would require less work than putting in online, a good and/or enhanced port I mean. There's something to ponder over.

Am I trying to come across as "Nintendo is almighty and can do no wrong!" Straight answer? Of course not! Am I, however, trying to come across as "Give Nintendo a freaking break they aren't perfect"? I would hope so. I'm willing to bet money when Nintendo can either turn a profit or take minimal losses on online gaming they'll jump in and the wait will eb so worth it everyone will smack themselves for bitching so much, on both sides of the table for that matter cause face it, us pro-Nintendo's decisioners bitch right back just as much as anti-Nintendo decisioners. And then of course both sides will move on to the next topic to bitch about on the place where we love to bitch, heck it's the forum's slogan , and we all know what that is....should Mario grab a fireball thrower instead of a fire flower all roll around the Mushroom Kingdom randomly picking off people for no reason  for the sake of getting some "gratification" from Peach

(Note: The linked feature is quite the good read)

Edit: Edited link for Shifty's pleasure lol. Thanks for pointing that out.

If memory serves me right that honor goes to the 40/40 Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker. And people that Famitsu score is from Famitsu GC not good ol regular multi-platform Famitsu.

While I'm a lover of sarcasm as much as the next guy? You're forgetting that your little example there can turn around and be said about SEGA as well. Wouldn't want F-Zero being ported either now would we?

Right, let me get this straight. We get word that SK's exclusivity is over, hear good words on SKs and Nintendo's part over it, and no absolutely nothing else about it...and Nintendo is now Satan, N5 will suck beyond reason, X-Box suddenly became the best system to own, Bill Gates is all our daddies and the world as we know it is about to come to a screeching halt? I have all this right right? If not I must be mistaken because that's how half of you are reacting.

Let's look for a second where it says SK will not be making anymore games for Nintendo consoles. *cough* Yeah I don't see it either but for everyone who apparently does see this? Read it again please. Still see it? Invest some cash in some glasses instead of your next game.

Half of you are completely overreacting without knowing anything about this. When I first ran across this thread I could've sworn canuck had hacked everyone's accounts because it's stuff I'd expect him to say.

As for all this doom and gloom about Nintendo? I've said it once and I will say it again "I was talking about this [Nintendo doom and gloom] with a former PGC goer. And I came to a conclusion, at first as a joke, but after a while considering how some of the fans and the industry are reacting? If making money and being 2nd worldwide is bringing Nintendo all this grief? Then Microsoft? By all means start making money on X-Box! Please! Get in 2nd Place! Nintendo slide into 3rd purposely and let's see how Microsoft likes it =/ I mean no one bugs Microsoft as they're bleeding money and are in 3rd. So pleease give them 2nd and help them make money with X-Box and let's see some X-Box doom and gloom talk among its fans and with writers"

My sentiments exactly. I was talking about this with a former PGC goer last night. So let me get this straight...Nintendo doesn't sell they're stupid and going out of business etc etc. Nintendo sells so much they're having a hard time keeping stock they're STILL stupid and don't deserve to be in the console race. Excuse me while I say what the blue hell is that all about?

Apparently at some point between mid-N64's life and now? Nintendo just can't win...even with its own fans! Honestly, I wonder what would happen if say Mario Sunshine and Mario 64 switched places. Just how many people would say Mario 64 was the bad game. Seriously people, to those this applies to, what kind of expectations to you have for Nintendo?

Bah! I had more to add than this but I'm too clouded with anger toward Nintendo's "fans" that I can't see straight. (Seriously...half of you confused the bejesus out of me. It's like Nintendo can't do right. Here's a flipside challenge. People want to see when Nintendo's fans acknowledge its shortcomings, I'm looking at you Virtual Boy and 64DD, try ackowledging the good stuff now and again. Sure it sucks that they can't restock but on the flipside, holy crap! They can't restock! They're selling like that?! Dibs yeah!)

I'd like to go on record in saying the SNES did NOT have the best DBZ game. That title goes to PSOne with DBZ: Legends. GREAT game! Great I say!

Oh and to be more on topic (Cube wise), I hope DBZ Budokai 2 is ported to GCN ;x

Random pointless note ;x DBZ has sagas...Sailor Moon has seasons. Season you refer to is Season 5, also known as Sailor Moon Stars (Also known to some as Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars) And your quote should be "Whatever happens? Happens."

Back on topic? I swear it's a wonder how some games get the ratings they do. Take SCII getting T for instance. The ladies alone can justify T but lets throw in some of the just plain painful looking moves you can pull off (I'm looking at you Mitsurugi's throws....).

No no no! We need to support this! It's all falling into place.  You see there was Console Wars Episode I: The Annoying MS and well if SEGA wins this case? Enter Console Wars Episode II: (Ironically enough) The Clone Wars ;x And quite frankly Nintendo could win out completely! I mean hey...who hasn't copied them? ;x Yes....I see it now....Episode 4: The N5 Hope *Stops now before he gets carried away*

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Viewtiful Joe Teen Rating
« on: December 03, 2003, 07:53:30 PM »
VJ's Teen rating is easily explainable. Simply do a little unlocking and of course a little background checking and it's obvious.

As for Melee? Why is it Teen? Ha! The real question you should ask is why is it NOT rated M?! "But UJ...why in the world would Melee be rated M? Heck it doesn't even deserve T!" Quite simple. Besides being able to nab a peek up Peach's skirt and how just plain painful some explosions can look (Not to mention Link can jam a sword in someone's head heh). This M out of nowhere comes from the fact that if you take a cruise over to Sound Test and open up Peach's selections. And, if I remember correctly, go to sounds 6-10, get you some choice sprites, a little imgination, and toss in a splash of perversion? You can make random Nintendo pr0n! Granted I'm not saying this to commit account suicide, just proving that Melee is more than deserving of it's T rating.

Disclaimer: Should any random Nintendo pr0n Flash movies pop up, UJ claims no responsibility for placing the idea in said person's head. However should a comedic clip come from this? Then bring it on! Not enough laughs in the world anyway.

TalkBack / RE:GameCube now $99
« on: September 24, 2003, 10:25:45 PM »
Nintendo is looking to play some hardball with their advertising of the new pricepoint. A mere 45 minutes ago (roughly) I already saw a commercial advertising the new pricepoint! And it was pretty well done too. Showed a clerk marking Cubes for 99.99 and the only Cubes shown were Platnium and Jet. I forget what dialogue was in it but then it went to a single Platnium Cube and the announcer saying "GameCube now just $99. It just keeps getting better".

To see the commercial go up so fast really makes me happy. I only hope they drive these commercials hard! We need to see that Nintendo advertising prowness!

I rarely post here. (Tis a sin I tell you!) But dangit this thread just brings out the love in me. It reminds me why I quest to own/have owned every Nintendo system (I'm getting there...own/have owned NES, NES2, SNES, SNES2, GB, GBP, GBL [Pride of the collection], GBC, GBA, GBASP, VB, N64, GCN...you'd think I'd be done right? Right? Wrong! I want the Japanese ones too! Dahahahaha! I'm ok now...) My love stems back to when I was 4 or 5. It was christmas...approx. 10:33 AM (Nintendo is that deep dangit) I walked into the dining room and there was my gift. Hooked up to the TV and ready to be played. My very own NES. (I would later in life come to find out why it was already hooked up...my cousins were playing it the night before after I had went to sleep!) Inside was good ol Super Mario Bros. I turned it on. Picked up the controller. Picked SMB instead of Duck Hunt and I never looked back. My life changed from that day. Enter 1990. The Nintendo freaking PowerFest! (Dear lord I'd do anything they asked to see this brought back.) Surrounded by thousands of fellow gamers and tons of games. I must've spent 5 hours on SMB3 alone. This doesn't include all the time I spent on the PowerPad. Fast foward to SNES release. No SNES for poor UJ. Too expensive. I didn't get a SNES until N64 was out for like a year. N64 launch same story as SNES (But I got a 64 before Cube's launch) But my Cube. My preicous Cube (Melee sealed it for me. I was going to buy a Cube regardless but dangit Melee was the clincher) I've left out so many minute details but I don't want to bore you all. I'll conclude with this. I love Nintendo and very much look foward to their reclaim to glory...be it through another crash or a new generation of gamers. I just know that if anyone can lose their crown adn reclaim it with ease? It's my precious Nintendo. Here's looking at you big N! When I finish getting my CSCI (Computer Science) degree I'll put my game out for your system and hope it helps push you back to where you belong! (Oh and I'm 19 and please forgive any double posts)

Had to add a plug....Henshin A-Go-Go Baby! Viewtiful Joe is coming! Get ready!

Well for what it's worth you can rest $10 easier. Seems to be forgotten that VJ is a mere $40 new....praise to be to teh Capcom! Personally I limited myself to 3 absolutely must own titles and everything else I will get when I can. Those titles are SCII (Fully paid pre-order), VJ ($5 down on it...friend of mine is paying of the rest), and Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (I'd add Friend of Minerla Town here too but I have yet another friend of mine who is buying me this game as well...collecting and cashing in favors is a good thing I tell you!)

LOL Mouse, agreed. I too like to come up with my own ideas but I was just angry and needed something I could throw down. Mouse I''m glad to say you're unlike others I've debated with. You can admit when wrong and know how toa gree to disagree. Qualities I highly respect. That said I must get back to playing Advance Wars (In anticipation for Fire Emblem and AW2)
