Still, i LOVE how sci-fi movies are making a full on comeback these last years. Even if you exclude superhero genre, we still had lots good-to-great sci-fi movies: Source Code, Pacific Rim, Platen of the Apes, Oblivion. And there will be more: Gravity, Interstellar.

Don't forget Enders Game. I have some high hopes for that film.

By the way, how's Jodi Foster in Elysium? She's one of my favorite actresses (not to mention, she tends to pick relatively smart movies to be in) and pretty much the one reason I'd want to see that movie.
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

I don't think Ender's Game is going to translate as well as everyone thinks it will.  I peg that movie as being pretty darn slow.

Don't care about Ender's game. It's a bad book. Though for some reason i read one of it's many sequels. They're even worse. So much whining, like i couldn't believe.

Foster was fine. Charlto Kopley's character steals everything that movie has going for it. His villain is just so... villain-y. He really overshadows everyone in that flick.

I just had a Resident Evil marathon and I gotta say those movies are just dragging things on. I liked the first two okay but by the third it was just getting ridiculous and the fourth was too much. I haven't seen the fifth yet and I still can't believe they already greenlit a sixth and seventh.

New movies the only ones I seen this year are Avengers, and GI Joe. I liked Avengers a lot but it took multiple viewings because there was too much going on to follow it the first time. GI Joe was no where near as good as the first awesome one.

It isn't new but I did finally finish the Running Man recently, I always started it but for some reason or another never could get to the end, and I gotta say I really liked it a lot.

I just watched Empire Strikes Back on Blu Ray for the first time since I got the boxed set, well it was sorta Empire Strikes Back but apparently Lucas had to tinker some more so it is only like 75% the same movie now.

Last week i binged pretty hard and saw:

RED 2 (again)
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - i've not read the book(s) but this was a OK film. Didn't go in expecting much.
The Lone Ranger (for the love of Helen Mirren do not see this movie if you're expecting a swift plot!)
The Wolverine (again)

...and the binging continues!

Elysium: Jodie Foster very nearly stole every scene she was in with her general presence and nature. Sharlto Copley DID steal every scene however. In as almost as good a way as Heath Ledger did in The Dark Knight. It didn't have the character development as District 9, but it felt shorter overall so i think it was better for leaving it out.

Today i'm seeing Kick Ass 2 and hopefully Friday i'm seeing 2 Guns.

I forgot Kick Ass 2 was coming out already. I was planning on seeing it for my birthday but that's a couple weeks away I hope it stays in theaters long enough for me to get to see it. I loved the first one. On fact it is only one of three Nick Cage movies I can stand, cuz of how much I hate Nick Cage.

Even more binging!

2 Guns - Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington have good chemistry together. Cyclops from the X-Men films is in this, and soon as i recognised him i couldn't un-see it either

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Twilight, basically. There was nothing particularly special about it - except Robert Sheehan (who played Nathan in Misfits), i was expecting to burst into profanity and foul language at any moment.

The World's End

This will sadly be compared to "This is the End," which just came out, and is much MUCH funnier. The World's End tries to have it all three ways--comedy, action movie, and character drama (sort of)--and then butchers the execution (especially the gawdawful ending). Aside from "Run, Fat Boy, Run" I can say I've enjoyed all of these guys's movies. Chalk this one up to the "don't like" list.

I disagree with you, sir!
Though I am no fan of the author as a person, I do like the book quite a bit, along with a few of the sequels/spin-offs.

Robin Hood - Men in Tights.

Wonderful.  I haven't had any opportunity to watch any Mel Brooks movies, and this one was nice and easy to delve into given the familiar source material.  The jokes are certainly a bit dated at this point, but given that i recall what they're referencing, I still find it incredibly funny.

Blinkin is spectacular, especially the fight scene with him vs. the support beam.

Spectacular parody movie.  I'd suggest it to anyone.

Book of Eli

Yet another subpar post-apocalypse movie written by Gary Whitta.

The other one was "The Walking Dead: so called game", of course.

Don't worry about him Lucariofan. Monty Python is the highest form of humour on the planet. There are so many layers to almost every joke on screen. Now that I'm doing some critical theory and philosophy units at university I'm discovering that Holy Grail even has jokes about THAT.
