I'm surprised he didn't outright state this document is fake. I'm still thinking this thing is a valid document for preproduction or something. I would love it if characters got a complete redo and tripping was gone. I still expect those things anyway.

It's fake. The English logo in the leaked pic uses Brawl's logo (where the bottom of "Smash Bros." is curved). I suppose they could reuse the logo but they made a point of changing the logo with every game.

Also, I doubt development has even started and I believe Sakurai even stated so. The game is at least 2 years away. I can't excited for a game that only exists on paper.

Since there is going to be a version of the game on the Wii U and 3DS, I wouldn't be surprised if the game just tacked on Wii U (or maybe just U) and 3D to the two titles. At least in Japan, I think that's what it will be. Not sure what the US title could be, but they could get away with using previous Japanese titles and call it something like Nintendo All-Star Great Melee Smash Brothers.

Maybe that's where the Vitality Sensor comes into play. Maybe the Wii U will require you to have the Vitality thing hooked up to your body at all times and when it starts to show your health declining it will shut itself down and refuse to boot up again until you go out and get some exercise.

Brawl started it's development at the end of 2005, and basically finished at the very end of 2007, which is why it first came out in January 2008 in Japan. If development of the next Smash Bros doesn't start until Spring 2012, and this one will be in HD with a much bigger graphical jump, the Wii U version isn't going to be ready until at last Fall 2014, more then likely delayed until Spring 2015.

Now the 3DS version I could see getting released earlier since it'll probably just port Brawls exact engine over to the 3DS. This right there would give them 39 characters already made that would be very easy to rework and edit, as well as a lot of other assets that are already done versus the Wii U version which will have to make a lot of it from scratch in order to be up to date with the Wii U's graphics.

So yeah, I'm expecting the 3DS version in late 2013 and the Wii U version in early 2015.

That's a long time from now, and we might not even be alive then because the Mayans predicted the world will end on December 21st, 2012. So those games better come out before then.

I do see Nintendo getting Smash Bros on the 3DS out first...and that it will be a cheaper port in a sense...but I am not worried about the asset thing with Nintendo. I remember an interview where Nintendo basically stated that they have an art team that is basically building definitive versions of all there characters to be used in future games. I am sure that team has been working on definitive HD models. Now, whether those assets will be used is questionable.

I am personally hoping for not more characters but refined characters and better character selection. They can get rid of half the Star Fox lineup and I would be happy. I also think those additional characters should just be costume changes.

And many characters need to be reworked. Samus and Luigi are the first but not the only characters that need radical changes in my book.

The hell are you talking about? Luigi is one of the characters that has gotten better with each game in the series. There's no need to mess with him.

Calm down there, cowboy. He probably wants Luigi with his vacuum especially with Luigi's Mansion 2 coming out. Before you jump down my throat too, keep in mind that I'm just offering an explanation and don't actually give a **** either way. The only change I do care about is Luigi getting his crazy legs from SMB2. It doesn't even need to affect gameplay. I just think it looks funny.

Seeing as Sakurai hasn't started on either, I doubt that will happen.

But Samus does need to be reworked. She's been progressively nerfed in every new entry to the series. I'd like to see her get back up to her SSB64 level.

As amazing/horrible that would be, I think Luigi Dude is right in that we wont see this game until 2015 at the earliest. By then the world will be destroyed anyway so who cares?
