The Wal-Mart thing could just be a store special or something.

I still have my doubts about a price drop, but neither outcome would surprise me.

I hope that price drop comes with a new color.
Both are long overdue.

Most likely a store special. Nintendo has no reason to drop the price (and no, "electronics should just drop in price" doesn't count as one). They never did with the DS either. Why would they drop the price when they've got another killer app coming up and one that's already released still waiting to kick in (Nintendo states a 6-8 week delay between the release and effect of a killer app)?

As much as people don't like Nintendo's recent policy of not lowering prices it does make good business sense. I don't think a price drop sells enough more Wiis in the long run to justify it.

I have no plans on buying a second Wii to be honest, and the only way I'd be tempted by a lower price is if it also came in BLACK. Even then, it'd be hard to twist my arm and get a second one unless Reggie himself came to do the twisting.

I'd buy a new Wii only if mine broke and couldn't be repaired without wiping the internal memory.

I'd really like to see a price drop on the Wiimotes and some new colours too. I want a pink one and a blue one.

Of course there's reason to drop the price. Sales are way down from last year. A price drop doesn't affect most of us directly though since we have one already. More sales may encourage better games. It hasn't really thus far, but it might.

I'm actually surprised Nintendo hasn't released more special limited edition colored controllers with certain games, like those that need help selling.

I would love to see a price drop, and the inclusion of Wii Sports Resort and a Wii Motion plus with the console.  Say it's at $199, that would explode Wii sales, IMO.  I also want to see this because I want Motion plus to become the standard, not just a peripheral.  Hopefully in October, Nintendo announce that Metroid: Other M uses the thing, and I'd love to hear a confirmation about Zelda, as well.

I thought they said they were just experimenting with it and would use it only if they found a good fit for it?

They found a good fit for it (have you not played WSR?), the deciding factor was if M+ had a high enough adoption rate to bother including the feature in Zelda.

WSR alone is probably around 4million WW already, and M+ stand alone sales have been pretty good too from the last data we have of it.
TW10 M+ bundle is the best selling version of TW in the US
GST M+ bundle didn't completely bomb in EUR
Canada is getting a NHL M+ bundle soon
RS2 gets a M+ bundle & there is one other upcoming 3rd party game thats getting a M+ bundle too.

So it's a pretty safe bet that Zelda Wii will probably be M+ exclusive now, with a good chance that it will be bundled in as well.

Nintendo's rule is if a game requires a peripheral, the game has to have a bundle with that peripheral.

I couldn't remember what was said about Zelda, I knew it was something like that.
That's disappointing that it's going to use it but at least it will likely be bundled with it.

Well for one thing I'm not really certain what Motion Plus can do since I've never used it.
But either way, if the game has a lot of flailing around then I think it would detract from the experience. I'm not sure if Zelda really benefits from motion control.

Go play WiiSports Resort. Consider yourself uninformed on the subject until you do so.

Then go play Zack & Wiki and tell me ho a little M+ wouldn't improve that game, then apply everything you just learned to the next Zelda.

Mop it, I gotta agree with Blacky, get ahold of motion pluss and feel for yourself. Every time I play resort I get so impressed thinking about future possibilities. I'm also playing Sack and Wiki right now as well, so I can instantly feel the difference when I try to say pick up a up a phone.

If zelda stays in 3rd person and where we swing Link Swings, it would make the game absolutely awesome! I understand how to play the swords game in resort and I absolutely love it. Lnk wouldn't even need to be in first person either, the same camera set up could work just fine.

I know you guys probably talked about this before, but Pilot Wings and Star Fox man. One handed Star Fox can absolutely be done after playing air sports. Just add in a little speed and you've got a great controlling Arwing right there. Submarine would be largely the same, but how about the Tank? WOuldnt be much different right? Can't you just imagine the 12 player Dog fights we are going to have some day? and then for the losers they can have classic controls, but I think the motion pluss makes a flight game like Star Fox absolutely responsive to ones super space shooting needs.

The difference is Wii Sports Resort is a game you play in short bursts and Zelda is something which takes hours and hours and hours to complete. I just think that if it has motion control then it will because tiresome pretty quickly. This is the same reason why I didn't get Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii, although I never could find the GameCube version...

And don't call me "Mop it".

That said, I think your underestimating the possibilities M+ entails. You mention that it would get tiring to motion control your swings, and that might be true if you motion controlled all of your sword swings (even the ones you use cut grass and break vases) and maybe that will be the basis of a happy medium. But what about the other times? What about when your fighting a bad guy? M+ can make those fights so much more interesting. For instance, WW and TP brought about enemies that had armor that had to be cut off in a certain way before you could do any damage to them. That simple idea made those enemies unique and fun. With M+, you can broaden that and let the player physically cut an enemy down in a very specific way.

Now those are just random enemies. What about the bosses, side-quests, and games? What about other weapons and tools? All of those can be give a new dimension of control and ability.

Lock-on battles using M+ :thumbsup;
Horse back arrow shooting using M+ :thumbsup;
Boomerang throwing :thumbsup;
Puzzle Solving using M+ :thumbsup;
Fishing using M+ :thumbsup;
Canoeing using M+ :thumbsup;
Possible glider use using M+ :thumbsup;

There are many more possibilites, but if you don't think all of that would enhance the Zelda experience, then you haven't seen the potential of M+ through the use of WSR & creativity of Z&W(which doesn't use M+ could benefit from it)

It isn't about enhancing the experience, it is about whether it could become tiresome and repetitive because of how lengthy Zelda games are. So long as it isn't too exaggerated then maybe it will be alright. There's not much point speculating about it though, I'm going to wait until some solid information is available before making any judgments. And I'll probably still get it anyway no matter how it turns out.
