Can you hook up NWR with an exclusive interview?
How about with the Dead Space Extraction team
or something involving EA Sports/Active games that are coming up within the next 60 days?

I'd say a big "No" to all of those.  I'd be happy to talk about the QA experience here when my time is done, though with how these NDAs are written these days I don't know if I'd ever be able to.  Let's just say the job is a lot more technically-minded than most people think, and nowhere near as glamorous.  Still, can't beat the severe discounts you get on said company's products.

Good I will funnel future EA purchases through you ;).

Sucks you can't set up an interview of any kind. Are you segregated from the marketing and PR people?

Yep, we're the lowly grunts that do our best to break the game and make the programmers cry.  The people who actually try to sell it work in a whole different building, and it's rare to see anyone outside our own department.  Now, really...enough, k?  Good job, and would like to not say something stupid to lose it.  ^_^

Incidentally, on the subject of Extraction I was recently reading the Game Informer article on the game, and the story sounds remarkably similar to the one in the absolutely horrible Dead Space: Downfall animated movie.  Hopefully, they learned their lesson with that disaster, but at the very least there's no possible way the game could be any worse.

I just watched that disaster DS:D. I didn't think it was that bad.
Better than a lot of the "horror" movies I've seen lately.

& to keep this thread on topic, there is a "rumor" kinda going around (not really) that one of the N64's best is getting a Wiimake. Supposedly TLoZ:OoT is being upgraded for the Wii. I personally think its a lame April Fools joke, but sometimes you never know how much of it might kinda be true.

Didn't we already get that with Twilight Princess?   :P

I jest, but seriously this sounds like nonsense to me.  It just doesn't seem likely when there's no reason whatsoever to play Ocarina with waggle.

But it's definitely valid in the effort to fuel the fanboy war against those who hope for a FF7-PS3 remake.

You remember that big speech Bill Murray gives at the end of Ghostbusters about the End of the World ("...Dogs and Cats, living together...MASS HYSTERIA!")?  Yeah, that's what we're going to see the day Square inevitably (and I say "inevitably" because it is going to happen.  If Square could put out those paramounts of mediocrity FF-X2 and FF12 anything's possible) reveals it's working on a FF7 remake.

Would the waggle be mapped to sword swings or random melodramatic outburts?

I think the OoT remake rumors are BS and an April Fool's Joke. While Nintendo would re-release this title either under a collection of games or a NPC title all evidence seems to point towards the Zelda team creating a brand new Zelda with groundbreaking technology.

Again, this could happen, but for now its a joke.

Waggle would navigate the PSX-era menus.  No other form of input.  That is all.

Nintendo should remake Ocarina of Time if only to annoy a new generation of gamers with the Water Temple. In fact, right after defeating Morpha, they should add another obligatory Water Temple with 5 or 6 levels to raise/lower the water in order to reawaken Ruto.

The Water Temple is awesome because it actually forced you to use your head muscle. You had to remember the layout of the place and plan out your routes.

The water Temple game me nightmares about fighting in the Zelda universe. Best Zelda level ever.

Have you guys heard the report on IGN about the Winter 2.0 demo and publisher interest?
I guess Winter got a major make over and uses M+ now. Plus the graphics are even better.

They also overheard a group of devs and publishers in a bar where a Wii Wakeboarding game was pitched to the publisher people. It uses the balance board and the suits loved the idea.

I heard a rumour that there is going to be a new Smash Brothers game, this time around involving only characters from Mario games. It is being developed by a company called "Sloof Lirpa", which isn't any company I've ever heard of. Do you think it could be true? Why do I want to believe it?

Honestly, there has never been a gaming April Fools that I have fallen for.
Things like Lego Zelda and the Zelda movie are obviously fake to me.

Some people on the VC-Reviews forum might have stumbled upon the VC-Reviews/WiiWare World April Fools prank because someone discovered a new Goldeneye VC page on their site that was blank except for a basic "Hello, World" type message. It was pulled down hours later.

I'm actually excited to see what sort of shenanigans the different game sites pull off for tomorrow. It's like a gaming holiday of sorts but instead of decorations you get fake news articles and in replacement of parties you see gullible fanboy's hearts stirred in a flurry of joy and confusion.

EDIT- Sloop Lirpa is the greatest game development studio on the planet. They are one of those 'ninja devs' that don't take credit for the work they do. They've been involved with major projects like Zelda, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Rock Band, Pikmin, Kid Icarus, Kirby, Wario, Gears of War, Mario, Contra and Halo. They do good stuff.
