Because the view doesn't show the sky like in Wild World should we assume there won't be anymore shooting stars? Granted I run into a lot of floating presents, but I liked the wishing star since there weren't a lot of night activities.

I put a bid on this item a few days ago, but wouldn't say whether I was outbid or not. Heck Lloid was still saying something he had to tabulate the bids, then send out mail to the winner, and money back to the losers...

Hahaha, I put a bid on it as well...WE SHALL SEE WHO PREVAILS!

I have to say, although it seems trivial and pointless, waggle fishing is awesome. It's like the big hits in Strikers in that it could easily be done with a button (and in this case, it can be) but feels so good with the waggle.

I am not afraid to admit that I am bored enough to actually play this game a third time.

Yes, it sucks that this game is pretty much an HD port of the DS with some slight improvements. But its enjoyable enough that I WOULD play it again.

The last time I played AC was in 2006 with S_B. I then stopped playing the game and sold it to Gamestop last year.

Like any gamer who foolishly sells a game only to miss it a few weeks later I felt the hankering to mess with AC, but realized that it was gone.

AC does provide some great moments, like when me and S_B played illegal Mexicans selling imported oranges, or tarantula hunters.

Good times...good times...

But you can't hunt tarantulas with more than one person. They don't show up when someone else is in your town.

You can definitely pick fruit while dressed like an illegal alien laborer, though.

I know that. I meant the nights we kept searching Gamefaqs to see if the tarantulas were real. Remember how your ex-girlfriend was stung in the game? That's what made us look for tarantulas. You may have caught it on your game, but was definitely a satisfying moment.

Speaking of which...anyone knows if you can catch rare bugs while playing online?

I know that neighbors won't stay couped inside when other players visit and you can interact with them. You can also celebrate events while the neighbors are out.

Somebody really needs to do a list of the changes and additions in City Folk, especially when it comes to online play.

Doesn't Wii Speak on it's own cost 30 bucks? Because the bundle is going on sale on amazon for 40. I'd pay 10 bucks for this game.

We played a game of hide and seek today. Has that been in previous AC games?

You mean with the villagers or with other players?

If its the villagers, then no. You could technically play hide and seek if you were playing online, but you couldn't do it with the villagers.

And that tarantula video was pure win. Its freaky how it actually chases you if you pull out the net. But I think it was also a smart idea for it not to attack you till you decide to catch it. It prevents accidental stings, plus gives you time to approach it.

Yeah, it was with villagers. One of them went to get two other villagers and I had 15 minutes to find them and I got a prize for doing so.

And I'm actually kind of disappointed in the new tarantula/scorpion mechanics. I understand why they changed it, but at the same time, it makes catching them amazingly easy. Just get far enough away, pull out the net and they'll run right for you and you just need to press A at the right time.

The WW mechanics worked in such a way that the AI was quite random and unpredictable, which made catching them more fun/challenging. I was damn proud of my trophy room filled to the limit with cages containing scorpions and tarantulas in WW. I just don't know if it'll have the same effect in CF. :(

Yeah, true. When you caught it on WW it was a great moment.

But I still think its hilarious how it now chases you everywhere.

Me too, and I need to test to see whether or not you can just put the net away and it'll stop chasing you.
