Don't like Smash? You crazy!

I even updated my avatar to honor MegaMan's debut in Smash4. I just don't have much to add to the discussion at this point in time :/

With that said, I secretly hope one of his alt colors is the pink scheme he uses with Quickman's power. When I was a kid, for some reason, it reminded me of a onsie pj set I had that got ruined in the washing machine. If they bring back clones.. PROTOMAN!

Wonderful 101 looks like and E or T affair, I don't think they'd go for a download code for an M title..

I wouldn't mind if they did, but I would understand why it likely won't happen.

Speaking of critical mass, I'm probably one of the few on this site that doesn't own a 3DS yet but with A Link Between Worlds on the horizon, and a ton of intriguing games I've briefly fawned over when announce, as well as the promise of others (Rune Factory 4 AND a new Ace Attorney?!?) I'd say, for me, 3DS has reached critical mass and new zelda will be that system seller to me, the always weary hand-held owner.

Previously it was Mario Kart on the 3DS. On-line MK made me run out and by the red phat bundle, then DSL as announced and I was a little upset. Oh well.

Hey people talking about Smash! It looks extremely far away so I don't think we'll fight on that stage but rather fight on biplanes and such over the multiple lands that made up Pilot Wings.

Now can ALL of you do me a favor, find me on miiverse, RomanceDawn, and YEAH all my Donkey Kong pictures and throw in your two cents. I want Sakurai to know we want DK's roll attack. Please help me out?

All though this is is like one of those "if I get 1million likes on facebook I'll beat cancer/dad will buy me a car/end prohibition" things that irritate me to no end.. I'll do it.. (if miiverse ever decides to fucking work for me..)

Great write-up, I forgot a new AA game is coming and and reading this article makes me want to play all the games in the series; the ones I have anyway. I don't think I ever had a chance to pick up the Edgeworth game (and wasn't there a sequel? Japan only I believe??) but I'll jump at the chance to play a new entry in the series once its available.

obligatory OBJECTION!

Maybe he'll have a move where he sucks you up in a snot bubble, as a nice nod to dream team.

Of course, that might be removed from the US version. Boo

Color me excited. I was never this hyped for 2 DS games, bit I did buy and enjoy those. Maybe I'm a sucker for nostalgia and having the chance to explore a new version of ALttP's world just presses all the right buttons for me.. Can't wait!

I just have to buy a 3DS now, lol.

Mop it up, are you talking about hardware specs, or hardware design? Besides the pin connector issues with the original new, Nintendo console hardware has always been reliable. Can't speak for handhelds though.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U Gamepad Redesign
« on: July 28, 2013, 10:46:06 PM »
I do that too, but once I realized I could map the buttons in earthbound, I just added L/R functionality to the Z triggers to play more comfortably while using the Dpad.

As for a redesign, I don't see that happening until they make a successor to the Wii u, and that's only assuming they stick with the gamepad. Considering they didn't keep wiimotes as standard (is in the box controllers), we can't just assume they'll keep the gamepad for the next console.

If they do, a lighter version would work but it better be backwards compatible, should an original gamepad cease to work.

Plus, Nintendo isn't even selling the current gamepad separate from the console now, let's wait for that to happen before we talk redesign..

I would kill for that Tanooki suit mario.. and the original Link is my favorite of the whole bunch! That's the first time I've ever seen that character model in 3D and I love it! Reminds me of a pillow case I used to have.. :/ damn dog chewed it all up.

*On a sidenote, this naming game is fun.  ;D *

Yes it is, these have me cracking up and are by far the only thing that interest me in COD. Keep it up! Call of Old Yellers Ghost isn't very clever, but I felt like throwing one out there so deal with it

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Official Nintendo Survey

Not buying a great system with dozens of must own games just because of the Virtual Console? Bizarre.

Great for you, but I have a history with handhelds; I buy them late after all the good games are released, end up with a small handful of games I actually cared to buy and rarely finish them. I just prefer consoles.

I have by far the most handhelds game with my DS but the fact of the matter remains, I lose interest in playing handhelds because console offerings are usually better, and even when they're not its much more comfortable for me to relax in bed or a chair and play games on my tv. Hunching over a small screen just isn't appealing in comparison, no matter how many how many great games there are for GB/GBA/DS/3DS.

Besides, adding cross compatible VC functionality just gives me another reason to buy a 3DS, and very well could be the one bullet point that would make me run out and by one TODAY. Right now the potential of there being a Link Between Worlds bundle is the only thing that has me thinking of buying a 3DS soon, otherwise I can wait a little longer or pick one up cheap once the next 3DS successor comes out.

and lack of a unified account. I've been complaining about that on all the club Nintendo surveys for months now. I mention how I don't own a 3DS simply because I refuse to have to pay twice for a VC game but would be willing to drop money on the system right now if I knew I could just transfer them over and start playing something like EarthBound on the go.

How long is this game? I am not sure if i should start it proper, cause i am already going through about four different plot heave games. Can i blast through within a weekend?
It isn't lengthy compared to today's games, but it's long for an SNES game. I'd estimate around 20 hours for a first-timer, and there isn't much in the way of side stuff to extend that either.

Unless you're seeking out some of the rare items, like Poos sword that can only be found in one particular part of the game by battling one particular enemy. Trying to get that sword adds a few hours if you don't really know what you're doing :P

EarthBound and not because it was recently re-released. I believe I've gone on record on these very forums that I usually, or at least used to, play the game through completion at least once a year. Before the re-release on the Virtual Console, I played this game about 2 years ago on my smart phone via emulation and was in the last quarter of the game when an android update reset everything and the emulator app I was using was no longer available, thus losing my progress.

This game is like a part of me and always will be.

The only other game I can think of is a newer entry into my personal Hall of Favorites and that is: Rune Factory Frontier! After two season long hiatus from the game, I started playing it again recently, right back into the grind trying to level up my crops and special flowers in order to make the highest level armor in order to take on the final boss. Is it necessary? No, seeing as I only recently took on the Snow Ruins boss with equipment I've had for practically 1 whole game year, though I used a lot of heal items and beat him by the skin of my teeth; but I'm SO determined to make a level 10 Black Robe and craft the best possible sword in order to whoop some parasitic ass!!!

In other words, RFF is my gamer crack.

What will I do once I'm done? Perhaps relegate the game to pass-time only versus putting in serious hours into it, or retire it for Rune Factory Tides of Destiny, or one of the DS games.

Oh and Mega Man X. I can breeze through that without blinking and its satisfying every time. X2 is also great but X is just .01% better in my opinion.

A Link to the Past used to be higher on this list but honestly I haven't played that in ages. /zeldafanshame

Sorry for the bump but there isn't a thread in the console discussion, and if there's  board strictly for VC games, I haven't seen it.

Great read regarding EB's localization. Reading this just reminded me one of the reasons I hold this game dear to me and have for so long; it's not just a fun game but it has heart and it really shines through, not just via the story but through the stories behind developing the game itself. I feel like there just aren't many games out there, even the biggest selling or best known titles don't have heart the way EarthBound does.

Mike realized the power of PSI Heart!
The enemy dropped a present. There was a Cookie inside. Mike took it

PS, I'm Mike :P

Nice. I paid less for Mother 1+2, Mother 3, and Earthbound VC, versus what an EB cart would of cost me. Good thing I already have the cart from the 90s.
