General Chat / RE:Games to Film
« on: February 18, 2005, 07:26:17 PM »
I think that the Metroid movie would only work under one condition.  She has to be a bounty hunter and she has to be looking for someone throughout the movie.  That is what she is anyway.  The Metroid games are great, but going around killing Zoomers and Sheegoths and huge things like Kraid aren't going to make an interesting game.  I think the movie should focus more about her bounty, space pirates, and the Chozo.  It will be significantly different than the games, but it will still have the same basic feel.  I hated previous game-based movies, and I REALLY don't want Hollywood to screw up one of the best game series of all time.  That is why I pray to God everyday that they don't make a Zelda movie, because that is my favorite game series, and making Link an actual person with a voice would just SUCK!!!

General Chat / Sheet Music
« on: February 18, 2005, 07:16:40 PM »
Does anyone know a good site for Nintendo sheet music?  I found one called Cerulean-Pictures, but it only had a couple of Nintendo songs, and some of them are REALLY hard to play.  Anyway, thanks for reading.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:New DS Design
« on: August 22, 2004, 11:11:55 AM »
I like the newer design.  I love living 5 miles away from Redmond, Washington (Nintendo of America HQ) because I see the building like every day.  I'm a huge fan of Nintendo and I really think this DS idea should be a smash hit.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:GameCube Rezarected?
« on: August 22, 2004, 11:00:29 AM »
It is impossible for Nintendo in general (I know that the topic is Gamecube but still) to die.  The company won't die just because of the Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and other exclusive games that everyone loves.  Nintendo is immortal.

General Chat / RE:The worst game of all time?
« on: August 22, 2004, 10:52:31 AM »
Yoshi's Story (Boring, short, and easy)

Kingdom Hearts (Anime and Disney does not mix)

Halo (Overrated.  Bond games are better)

ShaolinKilla, I have seen a Game Zone here, so I'll try it.  Thanks.

General Chat / RE:Game Soundtracks?
« on: August 20, 2004, 08:19:08 PM »
I must be the only hardcore Zelda fan without any of the game soundtracks.  I wish I had them all, but my dad doesn't believe in buying from the internet and I can't find them in any stores.  Oh well, only 1 more year to college, then I can buy them off the internet.  Right now I settle with MP3s and Midis.  By the way, does anyone know a store that I could have missed?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Your pet peeves *in* games?
« on: August 19, 2004, 09:10:11 PM »
My top 10 pet peeves in games:
10) I hate time limits (specifically the ones that give you like 30 seconds to complete something...Majora's Mask didn't
   bother me as much)
9) I hate stealth missions (James Bond games suck now because of the levels with the no-kill policy)
8) Non-related missions (Missions that you have to do that has nothing to do with the outcome of the game)
7) Slow games (Not really a problem anymore)
6) Playstation and X-Box games (Yes, including Halo for X-Box and Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy for PS2)
5) Games with too many button to pay attention to (I think Red Faction for PS2 was the game that really ticked me off
about this for the first time back in 2000)
4) Easy games (Don't make me pay $50 for a game I can beat the same day...Yoshi's Story...)
3) Slow loading times...get with the times (I especially target PS2 and the game Turok)
2) Long, boring cut scenes (In Chrystal Chronicles...possible spoiler...that very last boss in the game after you get the
like neutral element, you know, that boss.  Well, his 3rd or 4th form where he sucks up your family, I've died on him
maybe 2 times, but I spent about a fricken' hour in a half watching the cut scene before it.  Also, the lame  Lord
of the Rings games make you watch long parts of the movies again before every level.  If you die, you have to
watch it again.  They didn't even bother letting you skip the scenes.  Waste of time)
1) Games that think they are funny, but are stupid (I really hate lame humor like Blue Collar TV.  It's stupid.  I think
of these games like this one that is based off of an Adult Swim on Cartoon Network show with a dancing meatball.
What the heck?  I also thought Veutiful? Joe was stupid.  I hate lame humor)

Nintendo Gaming / RE:The most ANNOYING Zelda enemy ever
« on: July 19, 2004, 01:06:12 AM »
I think MM would have been better without the time limit, but it was a looooooong time with the Inverse Song of Time.  But in a dungeon, going through it while you get all the fairies, time could get away from you(especially in the Stone Temple).  I didn't like how you had to keep meeting people and how Spring was Winter again, the Gibdos are attacking Pamala's dad again, and all that crap.  I like getting credit for my heroics, but going back in time prevented that.  Overall, it was still a wickedly fun game that I still play today on the Collector's Disk for GC.  I wish they would have made a Master Quest version of it like they did with OoT(which was in fact...easier than the original).

But the advantage of the Kokiri Shield when you were Young Link was that you could Z/L Target while you guard.  You can't do that with the Hylian Shield until you're an adult.  The advantage of the Hylian Shield as a kid was the shield protected your whole body, which was pretty usefull when you climb Death Mountain and when you fight King Dodongo.  So I'd say that when you're a kid, they're both worth having.  When you're an adult though, that's a different story...*cough*...Mirror Shield...

Nintendo Gaming / RE:SongBird's or Clayz's Ocarina?
« on: July 12, 2004, 02:52:21 PM »
I bought a working replica of the Ocarina of Time in Seattle.  It looks pretty good.  I have a digital picture of it on my computer, but all I do on the computer is listen to midis and go on forums, so I have no idea how to load the picture onto here...although I didn't try anything yet, like just move it by dragging it or anything.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Just beat Wind Waker
« on: July 12, 2004, 02:47:58 PM »
I agree with Bill.  Sailing did put a more "andventure" feeling into the game.  Horseback riding in Oot and MM did the same, even if the overworld was signficantly smaller.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Upgrading the Master Sword
« on: July 10, 2004, 10:35:31 AM »
Come on, ALttP!  The game that started a legend within a legend!  Of course, the Master Sword was in it, AiAi!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Upgrading the Master Sword
« on: July 09, 2004, 09:30:42 PM »
The Master Sword has done its duty flawlessly for the whole series.  Why fix something that's not broken?  Why make better something that's the best?  No need to change the Master Sword, that's what the other swords are for.  However...yes, there is always a however...it could be a little stronger and shoot beams when you have full life...other than that, no changes necessary(those aren't even necessary).

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zelda's new double personality
« on: July 09, 2004, 06:40:48 PM »
Zelda has to be around 10.  See, Link in Oot was though to be 10 right?  Well, in WW, when boys become of age, they are dressed in the same clothes as the other Link(10).  Well, Zelda was about the same age as Link, I guess, so I think that this Zelda would be the same.  The leader of the pirates was 10 years old...just a thought.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Megaman Network Transmission...I can't beat Bass

Nevermind, I beat him.

Yeah.  It's not a preference issue, it's a laziness issue.  But yeah, I am grateful that it'll be on the Gamecube(the ONLY place it should be though--a NINTENDO system).

General Chat / RE:Metriod Movie
« on: June 23, 2004, 07:24:58 AM »
They're making a movie?  Personally I think it will ruin Samus.  How many game-based movies actually were good movies?  I don't think they should especially if John Woo is in it.  I hope that this is just a rumor and it turns out like the real action DragonBall movie--forgotton.  Samus is a highly respected bounty hunter in the game-world, not Hollywood.  Look at all the game-based movies out there.  There's Mario Brothers, Mortal Combat(not exactly a horrible movie, but still), Street Fighter, Final Fantasy(if it was based off the game, doubt it), Resident Evil, and other movies based off of games.  I really hope that if they do go through with this idea, then they'll at least make a good one for Samus.

Besides Wallmasters though, I also hated the Miniblins in WW.  I can't stand them!  They make annoying noises and they're everywhere.

23
I agree with all of you, especially joshnickerson about how Megaman was born on a Nintendo system.  How could Capcom just betray Nintendo like this?  Like some of you said, I do think it is a laziness issue.  Screw Sony!

                                                          Warning...Warning...Warning
                                                             ---Contains Spoilers---
(If you even care...I don't know many people that like this game, but I do)

Graphics:7/10 (You barely notice that it's cell shaded after awhile, so that's not a factor)
Gameplay:8/10 (I love how they set this game up.  It has the feel of the classic Megaman games and the newer
                                Battle Network games)
Sound/Music:9/10 (I love the music in this game.  There's just something to it, I don't know.  However, for the
voices, they could have at least dubbed out the Japanese and put in English.)
Story:8/10 (I surprised to find out that this takes place before Battle Network 2, but BN2 doesn't mention Zero
anywhere.  Transmission has a very good storyline nonetheless.)
Difficulty:10/10 (I know that you aren't supposed to give a game a perfect score on any one statistic, unless it's
a Zelda game, but this game is crazy hard.  Sometimes I've been so mad that I almost popped
blood vessels in my neck and forehead.  The only other time I've done that was when I was
playing Inferno for the fourth time in Weapons Master in Soul Calibur2 to beat it.  I'm not very
good with Link, but I refuse to use someone else to prove my loyalty to Link.)
Boss Difficulty: Fireman: 5/10-At first this guy's hard, but if you have two Aqua Swords, he's dead in a hurry.
Gutsman: 6/10-This guy ticked me off!  You know his moves, but he still kills you!  He gets really
                                               easy after you get better.
Needleman: 4/10-All you have to do is dodge his needles and hit him with Fire Swords.
Iceman: 2/10-He's a joke.  Just kill him.
Brightman: 7/10-The only way to hurt him is with NAVI chips(not Roll) and if he jumps.  Otherwise
                                                 he hits you.
Colorman: 5/10-Just dodge his Fire Tower and Ball and you'll be okay.
Quickman: 6/10-All you have to do is slide under him when he charges, dodge his boomerang, and
hit him WHEN HE STILL DOESN'T HAVE HIS BOOMERANG.
Elecman: 4/10-Yes, this guy is butt hard if you don't know what to do.  Just shoot him with a
regular buster shot, turn around and shoot him when he tries to electricute you.
                                             Remember, ALWAYS KEEP RUNNING.
Swordman: 5/10-Simple as this-Kill him before he kills you, because he will kill you fast.
Gravityman: 7/10-This guy is so easy but hard at the same time.  He doesn't do anything, but
you just die.  Just hit his head.  If you're on the top platform, and you charge
your buster, DO NOT jump to hit him.  Wait for him to come up and shoot him.
Starman: 6/10-Dodge his attacks.  If you try to shoot him, he'll disappear.  Wait until you know that
he's going to try to attack you, then he'll be vulmerable.
Zero: 8/10-DO NOT GET HIT BY HIS SWORD!  It hurts like crazy.  Otherwise, he's vulnerable to every
attack because he has no shield or aura.
Shadowman: 6/10-Don't get hit by his huge Ninja star or his Sharuken.  Also, do not be fooled by
his double team.  He's always the darkest Shadowman.  DO NOT GET HIT BY
HIS MARUMASA.  Depending on how much HP he has left, this could mean instant
                                                  death to you.
Pharoman: 8/10-This guy is hard.  Just have a lot of strong projectiles and a lot of MP(green bar).
When he releases his Anibus, shoot it down with your normal buster.  Dodge his
green lasers and his Ratty viruses.  You WILL be seriously damaged so Roll chips
                                              would be nice to have.
Protoman: 9/10-God, this guy is nuts!  He is fast, strong, and sneaky.  If you attack him before he
attacks you, he'll use a guard and send a shockwave back at you.  You will get hit
by his sword, but quickly turn around and attack him.  He's near impossible.
Firewall: 6/10-There will be one big gun and two support guns on the top and on the bottom.  Yes,
this is just a big defense system.  First take out the support guns, because the
missiles that they shoot will cause you to get hit by the big gun's laser.  After that, it's
a piece of cake.  Just shoot the big gun when it's "eye" is open.
Combined Clones: 7/10-Here, a man named the Prfessor will make you fight cloned Net NAVIs that
you've fought in the past.  Fireman, Gutsman, Needleman, Iceman, Brightman
Quickman, Colorman, and Elecman.  You do not gain life or chips in the whole
battle, but if you die, you pick up where you left off.
Life Virus(Part 1): 7/10-Take out his aura, dodge his attacks(he uses mainly Wood Tower, Iceman,
                                                        and Elecman) and beat him.
Life Virus(Part 2): 5/10-Just dodge him and his attacks.  Don't get hit.  This part is easy.
Bass: 10/10-This guy is 1000000000000 times worse than Protoman.  You take out his aura with an
attack more than 100 AP.  When it's down use a strong attack(Marumasa is good
because it is stronger when you are low in HP, and you will be low on HP).  His aura
comes back either by time or after your attack.  You can hit him forever, but he just
won't die.  I think he has about 3000 HP(The highest HP NAVI before was Pharoman
with only 1000 HP).  Also, even if you have 1000 HP(The max for you), if he hits you 3
times with any of his attacks, you're dead.  He is unbearably hard, and the closest I've
been to is about 1/8 of his life.  I can't beat him, but I'm practicing.

My most useful technique-(I used this to get all the NAVI chips in the game so I can get to Bass)-I set Invis 3 as my custom chip-it's found by Spooky 3 in ACDC School.  In my power up folder that shows your powerups for Megaman, it shows power, rapid, and charge.  Have power and charge all the way up.  Now fight any NAVI, except Bass of course) and turn Invisible.  Now just charge up and shoot the enemy, watching to see when you turn visible again.  No other chips are necessary!

If I've forgotten a boss, please tell me.  I think I got them all though, excluding mini bosses.
