General Chat / I need help kicking procrastination in the ass. Any advice?

I've been putting off some things for quite some time, and while I really want to do some of the things in my list, I just don't feel like doing it. Any advice for beating procrastination?


Here's the things I need to start doing:

• Start my video game reviews back up
• Get off my lazy ass and go for a jog
• Practice my creative writing
• Start reading my book backlog
• Learn to cook more than Maruchan Noodles

I really want this game, and I'm debating on whether I should get them on both systems. My question is, how easy is it to transfer files? Is it as easy as the Vita/PS3, or not? Is it something that can be done in less than 30 seconds?


(Also, when the hell is the Circle Pad Pro XL coming to the US?)

Kinda curious what others have played the most last year. Give your top ten with an estimate of how long you played last year.

1. Dark Souls - ~350 hours
2. Demon's Souls - ~250-300 hours
3. Xenoblade - ~110 hours
4. Uncharted 3 - 100+ hours
5. Brawl/Minecraft - Both ~80 hours

Also, what's your most played game? The highest I've gotten is around 600 hours with Pokemon Ruby Version.

They have a program where if I bring m own phone that supports a SIM card, I can get a net 10 plan with unlimited everything. It's no contract. Is this too good to be true?

Figured this'd be a good place for everyone to share their fancy or stylish desktop backgrounds. I have about thirty wallpapers that rotate on shuffle every five minutes, but this is the one I have right now:





As you can see, I'm a fan of a minimalist desktop. I even got rid of the toolbar because I find it so very ugly.

General Chat / I need help choosing an HDTV, and narrowed it down to two. Can someone help?

 I'm starting to save the money now, but I want to decide what I want early so I have something specific to look forward to. My main wish list for a TV was:


32 Inch Screen Size
60Hz (120 Hz is fucking ugly)
1080p
At least 3 HDMI ports and one component port (I plan on filling up the HDMI slots with my PS3, future Wii U, and Laptop for movies/games, and I want the component for non HD systems)
LED/LCD
And MAYBE support for a good 5.1/7.1 sound system. This is more of a future thing, since I don't need it now

The second one, however, is an LED screen so it's a bit thinner and sexier.

So, now that everyone has had the chance to play both games (I myself just got The Last Story tonight and plan on playing some tomorrow), what do you think? Which RPG is superior? Maybe one has something the other doesn't? Maybe one game has something that shorts it being amazing?


Tell us what you think here. I'm curious to see what people say. I'm interested in how people compare the plot, characters, graphics, scope, music, etc. of both games.

Yes, I know the resume will suck without previous job experience. It will be a skills based resume. I know how to write one and what to put in it but I have never used a good template. I'm sure that one of you has a template that works wonders, since most of you are 20-40 years old.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been more annoyed with the Internet as a whole as I've been for the last week. If I read one more thing about how Nintendo is stupid and needs to die a horrible death, or how stupid their E3 was, or how the Wii U's controller is dumb etc., I'm gonna blow a gasket. I always had a feeling that the Internet was the vocal minority compared to everyone else, and now I have my proof.

I mean, at my school (which mostly has a population of gamers who own PS3's and 360's and use them only for CoD or Gears of War) they were excited and impressed by the Wii U. I'm sure this isn't much different in other parts of the country and world.

I don't care how bad the E3 was. I don't care that the 3DS Software Conference didn't show any new games. No one besides Nintendo know what's going on with the Wii U. The next two years will decide the fate of the Wii U and Nintendo as a whole. Instead of mindlessly bitching about it, I say that we calm our tits and play the waiting game.

(Disclaimer in case Insanolord decides to bitch: this wasn't completely directed towards the members of the NWR forums. Many of you have good points in why Nintendo failed this year. I have no other place of putting this so I decided to post it on these forums.)
