Three characters confirmed:

Also, some stickers can only be placed on certain characters. Stickers whose range of usage is limited in this fashion are proportionally stronger when placed appropriately.

There you have it: Lucario is in and JP and Ness are back.

Yeah, I posted about it in the Brawl updates thread, too. What's interesting is that the Animal Crossing sticker on the Dojo has something written in that area, but we can only see what looks to be the left half of a "U."

Wow...The person who figured this out had a really good eye!

The funny thing? I think the latest trailer was altered after Sakurai updated about the stickers also being power ups.

In the first version, it has the same footage except that the squares are blank. But in this new version the info about the power up and the character it works on is present.

So if no one figured out till now was because it was kept a secret till now.

So, does this mean clones are back in? I was under the impression that Brawl wasn't going to include any at all. Unless Ness' moves have been completely retooled. Which, if that's the case, then Ness will probably play more like his actual character in his actual game.

And it does. The symbol by Katrina, in the Japanese section of the Dojo, looks to be the same one. That means Sakurai is blocking a character from our view in that screenshot.

I agree absolutely. What I'm saying is that Katrina can only be used by a specific character set, and likely a magic-based one, at that. The issue is that the only magic users that used magic and not PSI or Psynergy, or something like that by Nintendo is Zelda or Ganondorf. Basically, Sakurai is hiding some magic user from us, and I want to figure out who, since Zelda has no reason to be hidden.

I would think it's either Zelda, Ganondorf, or a new character such as Isaac or Micaiah - though, I'm leaning more towards Isaac for that one.

I didn't spot this initially: it was someone else.

However, I did realize this: this might not be Ness. It could be Ninten:

Ninten was the "Marth" of the Mother series, so his inclusion could make a LOT more sense...

That's Ness. Ninten's face is less detailed and chubbier. No, I'm not kidding.

Well, Ness has rosier cheeks, you can see his hair under his hat, he's taller, has a circular head, and is thinner. Ninten doesn't have red on his cheeks at all, he's got a wider face than a circle, you can't see his hair well from his hat, if at all, and he's explicitly less fit than Ness. While you may think they may be almost the same, there are several differences with look. That is Ness, there's no one else it would be. It's not Ninten. Have you seen the clay figures of the two?

Great find. I think we all assumed Jiggly would be back, considering the interview, but I was really worried about Ness and it's also great to see Lucario.

However... now I'm really concerned about Mewtwo, as that seems to be a grouping of the Pokemon characters there. Maybe he wasn't unlocked on the version of the video? Maybe Lucario replaces him after all as so many had been guessing? Maybe those groupings don't cover everyone in their respective franchise? Maybe Mewtwo is an enemy in the Subspace Emissary (like Bowser) and therefore can't be equipped with stickers? Wait and see I guess.

Why exactly does that mean they are playable? There is also a sticker of baby bowser, does that mean he is automatically playable? Maybe I am misunderstanding this. By the way, I hope you are right.

The icons in the bottom right are the characters a specific sticker can be used for, not the stickers themselves...

You know I never understood why people assumed Ness and Jigglypuff were going to be taken out of Smash anyway.

Lucas does not have the same moves as Ness and will most likely play much different than Ness. Besides I really like the whole idea of Fire and Ice characters for opposites.

Both Jigglypuff and Ness have been in every Smash game, and both are fan favorite characters.

It for that reason I believe that Luigi, Marth, Captain Falcon and a new Gannondorf will be represented in the game.

I can't understand Jigglypuff, since she was a unique character and was mentioned in the interview with David Hayter. ...Ness though. Well, most signs pointed to him getting axed, since Lucas appears to have his moveset only slightly modified and some of the cryptic remarks made on the Dojo about Ness in the past tense.

However, very happy he made it in when all was said and done. Now I just hope he is able to stand out as a clearly different character when compared to Lucas.

Yeah, Lucas was supposed to have been in SSB64 but Mother 3 wasn't out yet so they used Ness instead. Same with Melee.

After Mother 3 was finally out, it looked like they planned to use Lucas instead of Ness, hence why most believed Ness would be out.

Lucas has PK Fire as well, so perhaps it should be better worded "Flash VS Ice"? Actually, we have no idea if Ness is getting a whole new move set or not, but I'd personally prefer it...

Its Lucario. Not only is he with the other Pokemon characters if you look closely you'll see that he has two big dreadlocks on each side of his head. Wolf Link never had any of those features.

you know if mewtwo is considered a bad guy, then thats probably the main reason why he didn't show up with the others. So far in the adventure mode the only characters shown playable were the good guys right? And I imagine that the Sub Space Emissary is only playable with the good guys.

You know what my logic may not stand since I just noticed a picture on the Dojo that has stickers usable for Kirby, Metaknight, and Dedede. Now I do consider them bad guys but we all know they are "good" sometimes. So maybe they are with the good guys as well? Hmm... but the leaders of what ever those new things are called do have Metaknights ship, so did they steal it or did he loan it out? Those 2 are in a very gray area.

Well, in the trailers, both Bowser and Wario were seen with those trophy making guns (Wairo even kidnaps Zelda). So, to assume that they're not playable in the SSE isn't out of the question, but they most likely will be playable more towards the end of the adventure as they are being mind controlled.
