Nintendo Gaming / Article: "Nintendo smarter than we think?"
« on: October 06, 2005, 12:24:45 AM »
TEH LINKAGE

Yet another article. Good Nintendo horn tooting there.

My fav quotes:

"Sony and MS are businesses first. One day, someone in a suit more expensive than my house is going to see the billions (read that: billions) thrown into these two black holes and say, “Remind me why we’ve wasted billions of dollars we could be using for our core competencies on game consoles that don’t make us any money and, in fact, require losing lots of money just to stay competitive.”"

"Normal people, non-gamers, don’t care if they get twenty megapixels to the gigaflop. "

"Hand your grandmother a S-Controller or DualShock. You’ll probably fuse her brain."

"Nintendo doesn’t have to win. They just have to do well, because they’re ahead on points/profits. The other guys are racing like maniacs around the track and Nintendo serenely cruises on with the season wrapped up."

Nintendo Gaming / A more "traditionally designed" controller for Rev?
« on: September 15, 2005, 11:10:53 PM »
Gamesindustry.biz thinks so

And I have never known them to lie or be wrong about didly OR squat.

The excerpt:

"Another device which will connect to the expansion port is a more traditionally designed controller, which will allow players to control the Nintendo back catalogue titles which the Revolution can play."

So what do you think my peeps?

General Chat / Interesting Article. Draws strange conclusions.

Okay that link there^ talks about a group, Scientific Atlanta I think? They have developed plans to make a "set-top-box" and that's about it. But this author has jumped to the conclusion that they will be competing with XBOX and GameCube in some real way. Now read the article. It's well written and kind of interesting (that's why I bothered with this) but although I find it interesting I can't see any real way that the console maker trio that currently run the market are going to bat an eye at this thing. What do you think?

Nintendo Gaming / I just didn't understand.(A Zelda kiosk moment)
« on: February 11, 2003, 07:58:13 PM »
I have read most every available review for this new version of the Zelda franchise available. I have been told several times that the downloads and magazine pics didn't do the game justice. I was told you had to really SEE it to understand. But I just didn't understand untill today.

I was at a Target store and in the electronics section the demo kiosks were all down save one, the only one that matters, the GCN! And I was amazed to see that Zelda was playable on the damn thing! My store still has the same demo disc up from Christmas, but I digress. The game is absolutely stunning. I wasn't ready to see fire burn like that or shadow effects as real as life. I couldn't believe the life in the eyes of the characters I saw! Really neat stuff I tell you.

I later played it at a Wal-Mart store that had much better sound on the display television and a much better screen. I am truly wowed, flabergasted even.

I am SO getting this game.
