Nintendo Gaming / enter the matrix
« on: May 05, 2003, 11:03:02 AM »
if the game was based on neo, it would just be like playing a game on god-mode/invincible. maybe fun for a bit but no real skill, and gets boring really fast. i think that if theres a version to get of this game it will probably be the pc one. it just seems like they'll be able to do more with a mouse/keyboard combo than with any of the controllers. i have no idea how the controls are going to be set up but just from the amount of moves i've seen in movies etc. it seems this way...

Nintendo Gaming / A Cube Road Trip, what game do I need?
« on: April 26, 2003, 03:07:01 PM »
maybe a shooter, like timesplitters 2, nightfire, or Medal of Honour.
need for speed is pretty good for 2 player but you need to unlock a bunch of stuff before its any good. i havent played burnout 2 but that's probably good for 2 players as well.
i imagine u'll be playin smash bros a lot though

Meh, they don't really impress me much. In fact I think I was more excited before I saw them. I was hoping for the game to be set in the NJO. Frankly, I'm tired of roping AT-ATs on Hoth and blowing up Death Stars. I want to start fighting some Coralskippers and Cruiser Analogs. I want to see some dovin basal shielding action. The "Classic" era is way overplayed.

has it been confirmed that this is what the single player will be like? those might just be the screens from the rogue leader missions.. i dont know though. this game is lookin sweet nonetheless..

TalkBack / Capcom Declares Losses, Cans Games
« on: April 23, 2003, 01:34:24 PM »
i think there was a run like hell as well...

i dont get why capcom doesnt understand why their games aren't selling well.. i mean i love capcom and their games, but they need to have some original stuff. how can they expect all the RE games to sell stellarly (is that a word? lol) when they all have very similar gameplay. i'm guessing that the original games that are coming soon such as killer 7, etc. will sell better than the RE series because they are original. i think this is what capcom needs to focus more on.

Rogue Leader was my 1st GC game

yeah same here

i could make it to the last mission though, couldn't beat that for the life of me though. i loved that game, but eventually it got boring and got traded. this one looks like it will have a lot more replayability. As long as they make the 3rd-person levels better than the ones in Clone Wars i'll be happy  (btw i just rented clone wars this weekend and loved it, anyone else like that game?)
this game sorta came outta nowhere with this info, i'm so excited now  kudos, factor 5!

Nintendo Gaming / Game Zero discussion
« on: April 21, 2003, 01:11:39 PM »
zoonami is only something like 8-people large, so i'm sure they'll only be working on one game for one system at a time anyways, and it seems that nintendo is supporting them so i'd think of them as a sort of unofficial second party. i just hope this game zero doesn't turn out to be a disappointment.. i don't think we should start hyping about it yet, until we at least have some details about it.  until it's confirmed that its a goldeneye remake.... lol, just kidding

« on: April 20, 2003, 08:02:59 PM »
haha this is pretty funny.
i didnt know that fanboys like you still posted crap like this. maybe you should actually try the games before you start ripping on them. or are you just sour because of the lack of good xbox games? oops sorry. didnt mean to mention that.

anyways this is gonna get locked so it doesnt even matter. good luck with the candy bowl

Nintendo Gaming / E3 gc games
« on: April 20, 2003, 07:57:11 PM »
once again i agree with grey ninja here.
i'm sure nintendo will have one or two awesome games waiting to be shown at e3. game zero hopefully will be one of them. i also wanna see some stuff on Too Human and whatever HAL is working on.
who knows, maybe we'll see a 5 second clip from mario 128?

Nintendo Gaming / Finding Gamecube Games!
« on: April 20, 2003, 07:50:19 PM »
yeah grey ninja, no kidding. its totaly B.S.  you might wanna try an EB if you have one close by. they usually have a good selection of cube games, new and used. u can probably find ED used for even less than 20 bucks. i dunno where else u might try.. maybe search on ebay...

edit: i found ED at Gamestop.com for 14.99 plus 4.49 S+H. but u probably need a credit card, check it out though. i'd give u a direct link but its against rules. hope that helps a bit

Nintendo Gaming / Finished Eternal Darkness tonight...
« on: April 19, 2003, 07:53:29 PM »
yeah theres some really genius ones. i dont wanna ruin any for some people so if u havent played this game then read at ur own discretion

did anyone else get the insanity effect with the volume? that was crazy. the volume meter came on my tv and just went down to zero then back up, and it was actually the same volume display that my tv uses. i didnt know what was goin on, i thought i was sittin on the remote or somethin lol

yeah 2000 Mb seems a bit steep considering my cable connects at about .8 Mbps

alright cool. i think i'm gonna rent em both first just to see, but i think i'm gonna get ikaruga. i've got NFS which satisfies my racing needs gotta relive the good ol' shooter days

Nintendo Gaming / Nyko Play Cube (playing PS2 controller on GameCube)!
« on: April 16, 2003, 10:43:39 AM »
johnny its just a matter of opinion. personally i think the gamecube controller is hella better than the ps2 controller. i have nothing against the ps2 but the controller is just so clumsy. my logitech wingman pad has basically the same layout as the ps2 controller but it is bigger so it fits your hands perfectly. it is probably the best controller i've ever used.

anyway enough about that, my point is everyone has their own opinions and are entitled to them

16
alright i dont know if this has been discussed yet but i don't have time to read all 150 posts.
anyways i'm pretty much split between two games, ikaruga and burnout 2. after reading PGC's review of burnout 2 i'm thinking about trading in NFS:HP2 for it. but then i see all the great reviews ikaruga is getting....  help!  i haven't played the original burnout but it looks sweet and i think i'd like it, but i kind of also want a classic shooter type of game...
one question i have about both of these games is do they have multiplayer?

Nintendo Gaming / Ikaruga out tomorow anybody exited?
« on: April 14, 2003, 03:02:46 PM »
cool i haven't been paying much attention to this game but it does look pretty cool. please post all your thoughts about it whoever gets it.

grey ninja: i hear ya. its a rough time for the ol' wallet

18
if i were you i'd rent them all first because it's all a matter of opinion. splinter cell is very cool but i think that you could get bored of it quite quickly, and there is little replay value. conflict: desert storm has fantastic 4-player multiplayer but that's about it. the single player is nothing special. and no one seems to know anything about ikaruga so thats anyone's guess, it does look cool though

Nintendo Gaming / Dual Anolog: Am I the only one
« on: April 07, 2003, 04:56:28 PM »
i think anyone who prefers dual analog over mouse and keyboard is nuts, but thats just my opinion. some of the dual analog games are done really well, like halo, but others feel too clumsy or something... take TS2 for example. i love the game, but it seems so fast that you are just in a panic the whole time to try to hit someone. i think that game could have been amazing if they had slowed it down a little bit to be more like goldeneye/halo so that you can take your time a bit more and actually aim. anyway imo dual analog will never replace mouse&keyboard combo.
oh and i'm sure PD for xbox will use dual analog, i'll be very surprised if it doesn't

Nintendo Gaming / The Rumour Corner

termin i think its pretty obvious that that isnt true since people have been playin the imported version everywhere and we would have heard something about it if it were true

Nintendo Gaming / How is Enter The Matrix going?
« on: April 05, 2003, 03:07:44 PM »
lol good point there strange.

I'm not expecting much from it. The Wachowski brothers may be excellent directors but I have lttle faith in them as gamers since they don't even own a GC. Somehow I doubt they're very hardcore gamers if they don't own all 3 consoles. They game will be great as a part in the Matrix, but I doubt it will be as a game.

correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't the brothers just overseeing it all and basically just writing the story and doing the fight moves and stuff like that?  i'm pretty sure they would have no part in the actual developing of the game and all the gameplay mechanics, but i might be totally wrong here so feel free to correct me. i for one am looking forward to this game, that trailer is sweet. if nothing else, it'll be fun to watch

Nintendo Gaming / Returning a new game?
« on: April 05, 2003, 03:03:08 PM »
all the stores i've bought from won't accept game returns once they're opened, because people would abuse it severely. however if there is some actual problem with the game, i.e. it doesn't run, crashes, whatever then i'm sure you can return it. i doubt any place would let you return a used game for full price

Nintendo Gaming / the gameboy to gamecube scam

I dont care if they are "BONUS", I bought the game and therefore should be able to access all the features of that game without additional hardware. Why not have a small pic in pic on the screen where I can access tingle without the GBA?

what would be the point in that?  of course nintendo is trying to make money off of this but it's also supposed to be a nice little feature for people who already own a gba and cube. it's not like nintendo is taking anything away from the game. you are still getting a full game. you still get all of metroid prime. you still get all of wind waker. i don't see what your complaint is. basically what you're saying is nintendo shouldn't add any bonuses into games and that makes even less sense. how bout you just calm down and enjoy the game for what it is

Nintendo Gaming / Online Games
« on: April 03, 2003, 11:33:24 AM »
i think it totally sucks that nintendo isn't getting some online games out there. online play adds so much gameplay to a game. i'd still be playin need for speed 2 for example if it were online. nintendo just needs some cool third party games to make simple online gameplay, kinda like atv offroad fury 2 for ps2. thats what we need imo
