Zoonami Brings Funk back to Consoles
« on: April 23, 2004, 12:30:40 PM »
The ultra-secretive Zoonami finally proves it is a game developer with the announcement of Funkydilla.

IGN reports that England-based developer Zoonami is hard at work on Funkydilla, a music game Zoonami describes as for “all game platforms.”

Zoonami’s music and rhythm game takes a different approach to the genre: instead of using predefined patterns players much match, Funkydilla lets players create their own music by combining vocal lines and phrases at their own discretion.  The game lends itself to a variety of popular music styles and can be played two-player either cooperatively or competitively.

Zoonami hopes to create multiple versions focused on different licensed artists or bands, and is currently looking for a publisher with the same vision.  Funkydilla is expected to be on display at E3 2004.

I'm all for music games, especialy since the Cube doesn't get a DDR.

I wonder what type of music is going to be featured. I'm guessing since its made in the UK that it will be some sort of dance techno or something like that.(I don't know techno lingo so it could be something else)

I hope it playes like Amplitude or maybe kind of like it, I just don't want to have to get a new perepheral(SP) to play it.

This best not be the infamous game zero, because if it is, i'm sorry, it's garbage.  If Zoonami have a straight face announcing this, thats shady.........

BATTLE STATIONS PEOPLE, ANGSTY ANTI-POP SOLDIERS ARE COMING. (blatantly directed at theomen and kdr_11k)

aslong as this 1) gets releaesd in australia (generally neglected when it comes to music / rythm games) 2) has a trance / house  sorta playlist, in one of hte versions anyway, i'll be pretty happy.
OUT OF DATE.

I really like music games, but I'm not really into the whole funk scene.  But I won't say anything about the game until it's out or later in development. This game could also have different versions and different styles, and it looks pretty fun, so it could really turn out great. I don't think this is game-zero, either.

But still, Donkey Konga is more "me."  Is that coming to the states?

Garbage= as in the game isn't what I wanted.  Not GC exclusive, not innovative, not Game Zero (one would hope).  Wheres the top secret project that they've worked on for, oh I dont know, 4 years!?  The game may be good, but all I see is garbage...garbage...garbage!!!!

This isn't Game Zero. I remember the vague hints they dropped at their website a while ago and it didn't sound like Game Zero was a music game. I can't remeber the details (something about a hero, that's it) but it isn't this. I will eat my metaphorical hat if Funkydilla and Game Zero are one and the same.

looks like game zero and funkydilla are two completely different games.  nothing we didn't already almost know, but nice to have it confirmed.

I can't believe people are badmouthing this game! HAS NO ONE HERE PLAYED MARIO PAINT! This FunkyDilla let's us mix sounds to create our own tunes! I mean...MY GOD! I spent hours composing songs on Mario Paint as kid and animating title screens for family videos!

Geez, just because this isn't the al-hypey game zero...
