TalkBack / Re: Splatoon 3 Direct Recap
« on: August 10, 2022, 07:38:41 PM »
I have said before that Splatoon 1 is my favourite game of all time. Its good to see some changes for the better in the online features.

Im kind of disappointed that there are no new ranked modes, but Im sure the new story mode will be great.

I really like the new amiibo, I will be getting those.

We're unstoppable with you around Sena

Ha ha ha I'm the girl with the gall.

That was spectacular

And I'm the MVP, youre all thinkin it

25 hours into Xenoblade 3 and Im loving it. I think Im close to the end of chapter 4. Its funny how differently Im playing it from James. Im doing some exploration, but not a huge amount. Im motly just following the main quest and doing the occasional side quests. Im also playing on easy mode.

I was never really interested in playing 2 for whatever reason, but I played 1 and X. I think I like 3 the best.

Im happy this review exists.

I love Splatoon, so this is tempting. Im still using a launch day Switch. I kind of want it more for the collection than anything.

Well this is very unexpected

The discussion about website infrastructure was very interesting.
It reminds me of the time when preorders for the NES Mini took down EB Games website twice

I played through this and mostly liked it. I did initially have some issues with the latency settings in getting something that felt right.

The gameplay is fun and I liked it enough to want to finish it, which I did, but I didnt really do any of the optional levels.
As for the timing of the beat, I didnt really like how some some songs were fast and others were slow. I thought the best ones were around 130 BPM. I really struggled with some of the levels closer to 200 BPM. I died so many times of the final level of the first world.

With the weapons, I always used the ones that would restore health per hit. I felt like there were never enough health pickups in each level to get through them without dying too many times. Thankfully you can also change the difficulty of each level before you start.

A lot of the music felt like it didnt really fit the game. Its like they just found music that they could use and then slapped it on the game, set a BPM rate and that was it. One of the beats were hard to follow. After a few levels in, I had the metronome always turned on. I think a sequel would be better with specially composed music that is easy to follow, like in Cadence/Necrodancer.

I played Guardians of the Galaxy on Series X and don't remember having any performance issues.

The DSiware game featured here is one of the few I bought in my recent 3DS purchases before the store closes

The discussion is interesting about games you play when youre not feeling the best mentally. Most of my issue in the last year in my old job was feeling stressed and over worked. On the bad days, I just wouldnt play anything because I couldnt work up the energy. So I would just watch a TV show or browse imgur or some other website until it was time to sleep. I love games, but I have to feel like I have to time and energy to set aside to actually play something for a while.

Peach scented lubricant with a picture of Peach on the bottle. Thats what popped into my head during that segment.

Ok, a little lower score than I was expecting, but Im buying it anyway.

I remember seeing the news article for this game on NWR when it was announced. I assumed it would be Japan only. Then a few weeks ago I saw it in the coming soon section of the eShop. I will probably buy it.

This game sounds terrible.

Also, the only Castlevania game I have played for any significant time is 3 on the Famicom. I havent been able to complete the first level.

I actually wasnt expecting this. Maybe they are now hoping to get it out before the end of March next year.

I streamed it for a bit over two hours last night. Im very impressed so far. Kirby gameplay adapts very well to level design similar to 3D World

I have one of those 8BitDo bluetooth adapters so I can use my spare Xbox One controller with the Switch. I also use a Wii U LAN adapter.

I was interested in Aztech when it was shown in that Indie Spotlight or whatever a while back. Then I played the demo on Xbox and was not impressed. It put me in an area with a bunch of floating islands and I couldnt work out how to fly across all of them.

I bought Codename Steam for $4 new in 2017 https://imgur.com/k7cSWxj

I thought the game was cool, but a bit too difficult I never finished it.

I just went though and added a bunch of games to my wish list on Wii U, which I will probably buy. I already bought a bunch last year, like Pandora's Tower and Konami Krazy Racers.
Wish list can be seen here https://imgur.com/a/RDVeXfG

I already own so many games on 3DS, but I will look through the eShop again, maybe pick up a VC title or two or 3D Classics. Probably also the few Streetpass games I didnt originally buy.

Will also check my US 3DS to see what isnt available on my regular 3DS. I know Rusty's Baseball is one of them.

That was some great discussion on the whole Activision, I found it very interesting.
I had never made the connection until now, but is the name Toys for Bob actually meaning Toys for Bobby Kotick?

Also, I was the one bugging James to play Scarlet Nexus because I loved it last year and knew he would appreciate (or appreci-hate?) the anime trash. I watched some of the anime recently and from what I can tell, it is just the exact same story as the game, so it doesnt make much more sense.
I loved how weird the story is though
