Actually, some of us on the PGC boards live in Japan (where the game came out last week), and there are even more people here that import games, so it's not an "obvious no" at all.

I thought about picking it up just for kicks, but decided to pass on it since you can only play as Pikachu.

That sucks. I like Pikachu and all, but I still would like to use other characters to race with and all. It's like only being able to play Mario in Mario Kart.
