Big Pokémon News Incoming on January 8
« on: December 30, 2012, 02:37:44 AM »

Interesting things are afoot in the world of the Pocket Monsters!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/32892

According to information released on Japanese television, we might see some exciting Pokémon news on January 8, 2013. This information was brought to the world by the folks over at Serebii.net.

At the end of a trailer for Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, a teaser image confirmed a big announcement, though we aren't sure what will pop up. This could be anything related to already released products, to entirely new ones all together.

As soon as we hear more on the subject, we will be sure to let you know.

Coming in 2013, Pokemon Black 3 & Pokemon White 3! Now with six new formes for those legendary Pokemon you've forgotten the names for!

Kidding aside, I hope it's not another annual update to the mainline series; would be nice to see a new spinoff series in the vein of Pokemon Ranger.

I wouldn't be counting on a gen 3 remake. IMO the first two were only made because the original GBC games were incompatible with the new data structure of gen 3 onward.

I think we're most likely going to be seeing another spinoff

The PWT on Black and White 2 is a good example that a Gen 3 remake is probably coming. The music and setup is much like the Battle Frontier from Emerald, unless it's just a coincidence.. However Junichi Masuda did consider a request from twitter on the remake of the Gen 3 games, so I wouldn't count out the possibility at least.
If you shall force your righteous perspective upon others, which in turn requires an effort to understand, would you do the same? Or presumptuously reject theirs to begin with...?

..Which requires no effort on your part.

What else could you say in a complicated world..

Pokemon Skylanders.

The only issue I see with this is that there something like 200+ Pokemon at this point, right?  Also, I think the Pokemon games would lose a bit of luster with me if all it took to find a new Pokemon was to drive down to Target.

My ideal announcement: Wii U Pokemon game.

Realistically: Announcement of New Pokemon games for 3DS, whether that is a next-gen game or having one of the old ones available on the eshop (blue/red/yellow).

I think the best announcement could be a download Pokemon game that launches on both WiiU and 3DS with data sharing on the two systems.

Triple that and add 50.

And that's precisely why it'll never happen. If Pokemon were locked behind a paywall, parents will be PISSED.

And THAT is why I may never return to Pokemon games.  I had trouble keeping track of the original 150, forget 650.  I get that it's a way for people to be able to play through the game multiple times and end up with completely different sets of Pokemon, or a way to elongate the game for completionists, but that's crazy.

Something tells me it's not Pokemon DJ Hero or Pokemon Rumble Blast Corps, but hey, I can dream, right?

It'll be interesting to see if they can actually pull off a 3-year 5th generation and get 6th gen out next year.

Well there's a good chance we'll get the new generation of Pokemon this year so it could be related to that.  People have to remember that the new generation of Pokemon come ever 3-4 years and Black and White was originally released in Japan in 2010 so it's almost been 3 years.

Looking at Wiki, Black and White were first announced on January 29, 2010 as a new Pokemon game to come out later in the year and then were officially called Black and White in April.  So I wouldn't be surprised if they announce a new generation will hit the 3DS later this year in Japan and then we'll find out the official name a few months later.

Maybe they did it to make money, but they really did need to do the remakes as there was no other way to get those Pokemon in the new games.

Pokemon Generations.  Its a re-release that will allow you to go through all the games from the originals to the most modern.  The twist is that your character choices will ripple through all of them.  When you progress to the next one you get a reset to the start as a new character with perks from your previous one.

An eShop new Pokemon Snap for WiiU be nice.
