Localisation for Donkey Konga
« on: April 09, 2004, 09:39:58 PM »
As most of you already know, when Donkey Konga was released, it was chock full of J-Pop and Japanese commercial music.  The songs are going to have to be changed for the western version.  In one of the many many online petitions, I found this:

http://www.petitiononline.com/donkonga/petition.html

I think it would be awesome to have the rhymin' styles of the incredible Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince while playing the bongo drums.  It could be the one thing that makes me regain my interest in the game!  However, I think that my taste just might not be as up to date as the rest of you.  Any other suggestions?

PRINCE? The artist formerly known as prince...currently known as prince...THAT PRINCE!? What is the world coming to? ... There should just be Kong music...as not to make the game to diverse or directed to one group...unless they make different versions...

Donkey Konga: Jazz
Donkey Konga: Pop
Donkey Konga: Rock
Donkey Konga: Metal

(and those other groups known as music...)

They should do different collections if they plan on putting out a lot of cheap discs, but I think they need a broad library if they're just planning on a single game with new discs only every six months or so.

God no.  Not THAT Prince.  The FRESH Prince.  The "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" Fresh Prince.  He's full of wit and can bust a rhyme with the best of them.

Fresh Prince is still on UPN, you know, Josh N.  And Mr. Von Riktor doesn't really care about this because he gets to share the imported version with me

Hey, I'm currently listening to "Jitter Bug" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.  It would be AWESOME to bongo to.  It would be very difficult to me (lord suxx0r of all bemani), but seriously, just really, really awesome.  ohh, here comes his version of "I wanna be like you."  Another awesome song to bongo to.

Well, considering that both songs include bongo(e?)s in them, it's quite obvious.

Jazz can work pretty well with bongos, but I haven't heard much other contemporary music which blends with them well. There's lots of music from games that have some form of bongoesque percussion in them.

On a only-very-vaugely-related-at-all note, does anyone else here play the Djembe?

Breakbeat songs would be awsome.... alsong is there is not Dnb songs
I think there is nothing wrong with Jpop and anime theme's
I would love playing along to the hamtaro beat.
One thing I would love to see added is a Happy Hardcore and maybe even the Super Mario brothers series end song

I could care less about will smith.

I would however love to see some of the songs from Samba de Amigo along with some Carlos Santana.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song you say?  That would be awesome....

I'm waiting to see the list of songs before I decide to buy Donkey Konga.

Sign get. Bashing the congo drums (ie: Mr. Burns head) to the Fresh Prince theme song would be one of those video game moments I'd never forget.

If this game is to feature Britney Spears or Hilary Duff, I will throw rocks at it.
