basically you sneak up behind a guard with the M9(its the easiest) and snake says freeze, you then circle around the guards and point the weapon at his face causing him to shake off his tags. After that make sure to put him down as not to get an alert

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Silocon Knights + Konomi = Nintendo's revival?
« on: March 14, 2004, 04:12:47 PM »
I would rather see a Zone of Enders game on the Gamecube. Everyone I talk to says one of the best reason to get a PS2 is the Second Runner.

I think it would be awesome to see that or someone do a Metal Gear 1 and 2 remake for the GBA with new cutscenes and better dialog

The Xbox pad did not ruin MGS2. I have a Japanese S and it played perfectly(pressing in the stick to zoom into FP was nice)

Also did anyone notice that the difficulty is much harder in the beginning and the end seems to be pretty easy?

Beat the game today after playing it for about 12 hours(spring break). The only problem with it was my friend would not shut up and leave me alone to play it(he wanted to tell me everything about the game since he had already played the PSX version)

Overall it was totally worth it. I am going to replay the first half tomorrow and try and get better than I was my first time through(missed a ton of things)

Also Gamestop gave me that pre-order crap over the phone, EB didn't and had about 5 copies up for people without pre-orders.

I totally agree. I played MGS2 far after the hype machine died down and had not read any of the reviws, and thought to myself that this was one of the best games ever. By not falling victim to the absurd hype, I was able to enjoy the game without constantly hearing how it was the greatest or the story sucked.

While I have not played MGS ever. I do know a lot of the story from MGS2, and a little from the other games(like MG on the NES). I do not see myself being disappionted, even though I am overly hyped for this game. Even if its not as good as hoped, Splinter Cell comes out in two weeks for the PC and hopefully the problems will be fixed(all those stupid keypads)

Its sad that overall SEGA's best games do not sell. PSO, Skies, and Panzer are all fantastic(have not played Skies yet but own it ). Panzer Dragoon Orta is one of my favorite titles and yet it gets no love. I wish people would give SEGA the attention they deserve.

Doom 3 will Not come out for PS2 OR Xbox.  If it does, it will suck horrendously.  Doom 3's minimum requirements (for smooth play) for PC will be like a Radeon 9700, 2GHz, 512mb DDR... that hardware literally blows away PS2 and XBOX hardware.  They will have to dumb it down sooo much that it will suck (just like Halo).

I have a Gamecube because I am also a PC gamer and if I wanna play Shooters, GTA type games, or Online games, I will play it ONLINE on my PC.  I have a Gamecube because it is great for cartoonish type FUN games.

Ok...  Now that we have that outta the way:

I recommend Tony Hawk Underground and Mario Party 5.

Doom 3 is already running on the Xbox. someone over at the xbox forums had a screenshot from the Xbox version

the voice acting may be bad, but it can't top the engrish of the original Metal Gear. I played that through this weekend and it sometimes hurt to read the dialogue.

Also why have I not seen one commercial for the game? Its gonna sell, but it would be nice to give the game some press. They have been pumping FF:CC to death, and yet when it comes to their M rated games they take a step back.

I know Konami is publishing the game, but Nintendo lent a development team and has given companies like EA press.

I hope they come back with a new deal attached to them. A new collectors disc of obscure and rare titles may help keep sales booming

As for MGS, when is this sucker coming out? Is it this Wednesday? Ah, I can't get it til the weekend anways.

When you compare that to the Gamepro review, I wouldn't be too worried about it at all.

also the second opinion of GI was a 9.5

my only problem is from what I hear, the Atomiswave is weaker than the NAOMI. I know they are trying to keep costs down , but I would have went with something a little more powerful.

Also SNK keep the Xbox ports coming. I can't wait for SVC Chaos on live, next could we possibly see a Fatal Fury:Mark of the Wolves or Last Blade 1 + 2 pack?

During the interview Mr. Kobayashi revealed that the game will in fact be released simultaneously on both the GameCube and the PS2 in Japan.
still no word on if the game will be released on the ps2 in the united states, or if it will be a timed exclusive if it is.

actually in this month's GI it says that they are having problem's getting the game apporved from SCEA. Meaning in America it could be a GCN exclusive

I think Nintendo could learn something from Metal Gear as a franchise - a new or just pseudo-new (like MGS) series can reap some big bucks, instead of just the same game series every generation. If only the NES crew is familiar with it, it's a good way to spark up a bit of interest to start. This is just my theory, now, but I think it's valid.

the only problem is it seems all development houses Nintendo has in Japan will not touch an M rated game. I think nintendo needs to look to purchase a new second party(maybe N-space if Geist is up to par). It would help them on so many more fronts, by showing the industry that they can make M games sell on their system and that they are targeting the auidence that Xbox and PS2 have.

By doing so, third party games come more often and sell better.

O, and I can't wait for both metal gear games along with the talked about MGSnline game. I think if Syphon Filter works out well, Kojima may end up working on the game even though he said MGS3 was his last.

if they do a realistic Zelda sales will shoot through the roof and console fanboys will be forcd to shut up about how kiddy Zelda is.

Personally I would rather see SK develop the next Zone of Enders
