Do the bad guys always play fair?
Yes, the Reformed Gangleader can block Maxi's ability. He can also block the hit. If the Embodiment of Evil dies, there is no hit that night, as well. If you can kill him before the reformed gangleader transforms, then "Evil" will be unable to make anymore hits. Hits do not last into death, I should have made that clear earlier. If you were to kill Embodiment of Evil tonight and Evil's Brown Nose tomorrow night, then there'd be no more hits for the rest of the game. The last character left to kill would be the Puppet of Selfishness.
Maxi's ability only last for two days. That role being able to revive himself is something I considered from the before the game started, but decided it could become too unbalanced. The solution, I figured, is to nearly all players to use their abilities from the dead. Since Earthbound enemies are sometimes undead, and in Mother 3, there are things that alter the dead on the heroes' side, it can work. This is a great benefit to the "Courageous and Pure," in truth, because they retain more control of the vote over time. The longer the game lasts with it's current conditions, the more powerful the Good grows. Trust me, especially with the Inventor, this is a great alteration to the game. My regret is that I didn't have the guts to just do it in the first place, and instead had to do it as a reaction in order to make the game challenging at all. Realize, had the change not occurred, the "Pure" side would have already won after one day. Where's the fun in that?
