Not a big loss. He really didn't help or harm Man of Steel as far as I could tell.

Loss of confidence?

Why would he withdraw his name from this project and make money for doing nothing?
unless he didn't want his name attached to it. MoS wasn't exactly praised like his Batman Trilogy (not that I think it deserved most of it), so maybe he didn't want to further tarnish his IMDB page with credits to less than spectacular projects.

They should take it a step further and make it Batman vs. Superman vs. Alien vs. Predator.

Brian Singer sounds salty over X-Men comparisons to Marvels success in building the Avengers.
http://www.scifinow.co.uk/news/x-mens-bryan-singer-versus-avengers-and-iron-man/
Quote
“The Marvel universes – particularly Avengers and Iron Man – are… and it sounds defensive, and it is defensive, but only because people make comparisons between [X-Men: Days Of Future Past] and The Avengers, which is ludicrous.

“The Avengers is a mash-up of massive single character franchises of incredibly familiar characters and Iron Man. And did I mention Iron Man? Oh, and by the way – Iron Man.

“They are huge, colossal franchises that are peppered with all these other characters that are, again, extremely famous and so yes, Fox will at some point synergise [the X-Men] characters and that process is slowly beginning, but it’s very different than taking movies that gross close to a billion dollars and then pushing them together into these giant broad movies.

“If you want to give me Robert Downey Jr in a metal suit and have him join the X-Men, then yes, let’s go head-to-head [with Marvel Studios].â€

This comment is not only made months before release of Guardians of the Galaxy, but it completely ignores the fact that no one outside of comics knows SHIELD, Fury, Black Widow, or Hawkeye. No one outside of comics barely knew who Ironman or Captain America was, and the only reason Thor May have been known was due to confusion with Norse mythology. Hulk was the only popular character, and he had the lowest grossing movie and no sequel since.
X-men on the other hand have Wolverine, Cyclops, Prof. X, Magneto and more. There had plenty of opportunity and a large headstart to build something out of the X-Men and their 1000 characters. He instead decided to go make a Stuperman movie and let it all fall apart before they branched out.
Had he stuck around they had the whole X-Men Origins series with movies for Magneto, Storm and Prof X planned.he started off with the "Avengers" ensemble. There is no one to blame for not capitalizing than himself.

And thus pic couldn't be anymore appropriate, even if it should be Wolvie instead of Spidey.

The Whole X-Men thing is crying.  In general X-Men should go Team then Branching and Spinning Teams off.

The trailer being two screens like that made watching it less enjoyable.

Wow, Reading more about what this movie is taking inspiration from...  It doesn't seem to be anything like that.

Looks pretty interesting. Hopefully this comes in with a fresh look at the Supernatural, as Supernatural has gotten pretty stale in its going on 10th season.
