IIRC, that is if you are lucky enough to catch a bunch of sharks (which is rare). How can you easily make that much money other than being purely lucky to catch a ton of Whale Sharks (who have a 1% appearance rate).

Go after 7 pm and catch the bugs on the palm trees. You'll routinely see ones worth 6-8,000 bells, with some going as high as 15,000. That plus catching sharks when you see them will bring in that kind of money for a full basket.

I never go to the island that late, guess I should start. Plus, I want to catch those bugs.

BTW, I hate that it will be nearly impossible for anyone outside of Japan to get all the badges. The Expert Walker badge requires you to StreetPass with 1,000 people. If that specifically means with New Leaf, that will be nearly impossible. Even if it just means overall StreetPasses (whether they have the game or not), that will still be very hard for most people

That would be multiple conventions worth of StreetPasses. A thousand's probably fairly high even in Japan.

And I think, from what I am reading online, that the 1K number is specifically StreetPasses for people with the game. I can not verify if it counts multiple times with the same person separately (i.e. 5 streetpasses with the same person counts 5 times or if they mean 1K different people). MAYBE if you have friends you see everyday with the game, it might be possible eventually. Still, I would hope they would lower it. There is another badge that you get from pulling 5,000 weeds. If you take good care of your town, this could take years since I usually only have 1 or 2 weeds appear per day in mine.

I'm trying to play a short bit every night but may not open my gates. I see Pokepal added me. I added a group of people from the thread. I'll add more next chance I get.

In the middle of a promotion at my new job so my spare time got gobbled up. Hoping for things to settle down by the end of August.

The game gets more exciting the more I see expanding in it. I just wish there were more ways to get money. I dislike gathering tons of fruit and I'm growing tired of bug catching for profit.

Is there any other good way to make a good reliable income in the game?

You can always fish or sell whatever you dig up. You can also buy a lot of turnips and sell them when the prices are high, but really the best way to make money is to catch beetles at night on the island.

I haven't had a lot of time to play recently and I've got a lot of stuff in my town. It feels like I've hit a point where everything has slowed down and the next steps are just getting money to expand my house so I can furnish it. I've stopped buying turnips since my prices have been terrible for weeks. I was hoping for more variety from the T.I.Y Mart would have more variety, but they are still selling the basic tools which is just taking up space- I have better items then what they have on sale. I recently bought the players guide and there is a ton of content in the game, but waiting for it to become available is more of an endurance test than anything else.

Hi again. I am looking for classic and astro series furniture.

For classic I need:

clock
wall shelf
vanity
buffet
desk
carpet
wall

For astro I only have the TV and wall clock.

I have a lot of that stuff, but I don't think I have much of it on me. Once Nook opens I'll check my catalog and order whatever I have.

If you have the time and desire, that would be great. :)
If it'd be okay, I'd want to come to your town, as I don't want to have mine open as I'm going for a perfect town.

I just ordered a whole load of stuff, mostly astro with a few classic pieces. I should have it tomorrow, or at least most of it. I wasn't counting, so I may have ordered more things than can fit in my mailbox.

Turnips can make you lots of money if you luck out and find a sale price of 500+. They can be a bit of a gamble, however if you have a lot of towns to visit then you'll have good odds of finding a profitable price every week.

Turnips are indeed a gamble, one week I had nothing BUT prices lower than what I paid. So I couldn't make any profit. USUALLY you will be lucky to make 40 bells profit per turnip

there is a pattern to turnip prices but in all honesty the island winds up murdering any practical use they have.

I now have both the classic police office and the fortune tellers tent up.  for some reason I seem to be getting alot more public works projects requested of me.  I now have some stone tablet, wind turbines and some other thing I have forgotten about

tbh with my loan, fortune shop, and police station all squared away  I'm considering dropping the bell boom ordinance and going for a perfect town.

I am looking to finish my kitchen area.

Okay, I've got everything. I have a lot going on tonight so why don't we plan to do this tomorrow evening/night? I think we're 3DS friends but I'll check and make sure.

EDIT: Yes, we are.

I just sell fossils and bugs.

Any of you guys want to add me? I love having visitors and traveling to other towns. My 3DS code is 4597-0176-3500.

Also, I'm only trying to add adults to my 3DS. I'm 28, and I think it's weird to have kids on my friend list.

My name is J.P. in the town Insano. And you don't need to bring anything for me, but if you have anything in the Modern Wood or Sleek series lying around I'd appreciate it, but don't go out of your way for it.
