NWR Mafia Games / Mairo Paintball World 3-4 Wario's Castle (or is it Mario's Castle)

Mario rallied his team behind him.  "It is time we go on the offensive."

"Luigi, take the Yoshi's and circle round left.
Peach, take the toads and go around right.

I have a feeling the flags are hidden in that ghost house.  I will go up the middle on a stealth mission to the flag."

From the Ghost House Bowser could see the team splitting into groups and charging, but he couldn't find Mario. 

"I will take my Submarine and go straight down the middle, Mario will never expect that.  Yo, Para Koopa you are with me.  The rest guard the Ghost house."

The Yoshi's and Peach battled the Koopa Troops to a standstill nobody could gain any ground.  The ghost house was easily defended, and the Yoshi's were too terrified to enter anyway.

Under the Lake, Bowser's Sub inched closer to Mario's fort. 

"There he is!!!" Chuckled Bowser, "Fire the torpedoes."

Mario Seeking Missiles darted towards the portly plumber.  He quickly grabbed his trusty green shell he had in his item reserve, and surged through the water.  Darting in and out of the torpedoes, Mario ensured each was following him.  Only a lone missiles, whose guidance chip must have malfunctioned, got through. 

Mario effortlessly returned to torpedoes to Bowser's Sub.  BOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Direct hit, and the Sub was stalled. 

"Resurface, Resurface FOOLS!!!"  Bowser barked out orders.  "I am going for my gun."

The Rogue Torpedo ran up on the sandy banks of the lake.  A hatched opened the and the Para-troopa popped out.  The plan worked perfectly.  He quickly ran and grabbed one of Mario's flags and raced back to the base.

Mario and Bowser were squared off atop the resurfaced Submarine.  Both had taken what little cover was available and exchanging shots. 

Click, Click....Mario looked down.  He had run out of paint.  Mario looked up to see Bowser pointing his paint gun point blank at Mario, "and now Mario, I will get my revenge."

Splat, Splat, SPLAT.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"  Bowser roared.  He turned to see Luigi on the banks with a huge sniper gun, and a goofy Italian grin on his face.  "I hate you plumbers."

Wario popped in for a paint check on Mario.  "Waaaah, Look here!!" Wario patted Mario's back, smearing paint on it.  "You have been shot too Mario, you are out of the game." 

Nobody saw Wario's actions, so it was believed to be legit.  Mario gracefully stepped down.

"And now its time for my daily counting of my money," Wario gathered the teams and summoning another warp pipe they teleported to his Castle.   That looked strangely like another plumbers castle...

Bowser hovered over Mario Circuit in Clown Copter trying to spy on Mario.  Where is he hiding those flags, he thought to himself? 

"Troopers stay alert.  I don't want to be taken out of this game early."  Beside him was his too best koopas armed with the best paintball guns, and may I add highly modified and illegal for regulation paintball.  Bowser continued planning:  I will not be best by Mario again.

"Mario," one of his runners spoke, "Before we start the game can I use the bathroom?" 

"Sure, just hurry back, the rest of you keep watch, I know Bowser is trying to cheat....I am going to tie these flags up on the bleachers, they will be easy to defend and we can begin our strategy for Bowser."  Mario Spoke with confidence, it seemed he already had a plan for beating Bowser.

Wario Blew the Whistle, "Wha ha ha hahahaha the game is ON!!!!"

Bowser's Runners took off darting into race track.  However, the last race had not finished yet.  Dust and Karts were being kicked up all around them, and they quickly became disoriented. Stumbling around dazed and confused.

Team Mario held their perimeter keeping an eye out for the runners.  They never came.  The dust began to clear and one of the Koopa Runners saw a flag in his sight...he quickly ran for the flag and grabbed it.  "I GOT ONE!!!"  Vudu A Bowser Flag was captured and removed from the game.

Mario smiled, his confidence grew, but he was cautious.  Have one of the runners go check on our flags.  Quickly, the toad ran to flags, each one was carefully in its place, but ones knot was coming undone.  The toad reached to tighten in.

"WAH, You Captured that Flag." Wario screamed out.  "You can't touch the flags!!!!"  Nickmitch was removed from the game. 

"But, I was just tightening it." The Toad Pleaded

"Well, now you are a flag" Wario took a MagiKoopa's wand and turned the poor toad into a flag. 

"I have deemed this course too dangerous, we are leaving to another level."  Wario waved the wand around and created a large warp pipe.  Both teams jumped in and was transported to Donut Plains.

Stevey Rushed from the bathroom, hey guys I am ready to play.  The Mario Circuit was empty.  Come on guys, this isn't funny....where are you?  I wasn't gone that LOOOONG.  GUYS!!!!!!!

And its neck and neck towards the finish line.  Mario and Bowser are fighting for first place, no other Kart driver is even close. 

Wait Bowser is up to something, he just fired 3 red turtle shells at Mario and they are closing fast, it looks like Bowser may take this race.   If just one of those shells hit, then Mario is out of this race. 

The shells are closing in, Mario is weaving in and out of track trying to dodge them.  They are about to make contact aaaaaaand BOOOOOM!!!!!   Mario just triggered a Yellow Mushroom Nitro.

BOOOM, BOOM, BOOOM, BOOM!!!!  He rockets his Kart ahead of the Shells and increases his lead against Bowser.  And the checkered Flag is, MARIO'S!!!!!  It is Mario's 15th consecutive win against Bowser, no matter what his strategy is, Mario just seems like a natural born racer.

"Hey Mario," Bowser snarled.  "It's time we play a new game, have you seen one of these?"  Bowser pulled a regulation Paint ball gun from his Kart.

"Whoa, Bowser, you know Nintendo doesn't allow us to have guns in there games, we are too kiddie." 

"Relax plumber and watch."  Bowser took aim at Luigi's head and *SPLAT* right between the eyes.    "See its just paint, so are we playing capture the flag or what?  I've got my best troopas trained and ready for a fight."

"Ok Bowser, anytime and anywhere, I can beat you," Mario called out arrogantly.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIO, not so fast guys.  You need a referee to make this battle fair, and I nominate myself." Wario popped out of his Kart.  "I am the only person that is fair.  I don't care for either of you, only TREASURE.  It will just cost you 500 coins each from both of you...each DAY!!!"

Bowser took name at Mario, "Then we start today!!!!" And began firing.  Mario quickly jumped for cover and his team ran to get their guns and fight.

"Here we GOOOOOooooooooooooooooo!!!!"

If you are a runner you can PM me your attempt to capture a flag, if your pick is not a flag nothing happens.

If you are a Gunner you can PM me your attacks.  You have 5 paintballs each, remember the earlier you get your attacks in the better.  Remember to tell me how many paintballs you are using on a target since that determines the odds of the hit.

If you are Wario you can do your business or wait.

If you are Mario or Bowser you are a general and can investigate someone, remember investigations are night actions so if you have not turned in your day 0 action do it now and you will immediately get an answer.

Also, everyone should vote because it is one of the few ways to get rid of a flag...and if you are a gunner and you don't vote twice in a row you lose a paintball.

Here is the beginning thread for Mario Paintball Sign ups.

Game should begin around:  MAY 18th  Sign ups may be extended if we need more people. 

I need some volunteers for prizes, otherwise I will have to figure out another means to give out prizes...don't worry I am sure I can figure something out...after all Amazon.com is now doing Wii Ware purchases.

Please remember to read the rules because this is a different Mafia game than usual.

Nintendo Gaming / March 29th Special Platnium Nintendo Club Members DSi event

So I got an e-mail invite to a special Club Nintendo event introducing the DSi to public.

The invite is for Platnium Club Nintendo Members only, and will allow you to try the DSi with your favorite game and they reminded you to bring your DS to see the difference.

Has anyone else got this invitation? 

The March 29th event is at the Gamestop in Arlington, Texas.  I am excited to see what the DSi is like, and hopefully, they will have some demo DSi ware.  I will also make sure to ask the representative if there will be a VC for the DSi and what systems will be represented.

General Gaming / What Would you Want to see in an Xbox 360 excercise game?

I am working on a class project, and I need some help, or rather research. 

We are creating a fictional company and game for the Xbox 360 which is an exercise program to compete with Wii Fit.

So What features would you desire in an Xbox 360 exercise game?

What kind of extra device would you want to play the game?

What type of mood should the game portray?  More like Wii Fit, or something more hip and edgy?

General Chat / Sold My Wii...getting ready to move to Korea

So, I sold my Wii last weekend.  It was a big step that many of my friends didn't understand.

I am moving to Korea for at least a year (hopefully longer) to teach English, and I am using this experience as a self discovery "wilderness" experience.  So I am getting rid of much of my possessions that are just weighing me down. 

My Wii is one of the sacrifices and I probably will be out of this console generation for good.  I still have my Nintendo DS, and I am thinking about getting a DSi.  I was playing Mario Kart DS and I realized that for games that use the shoulder buttons frequently that the DS is very uncomfortable, and I am hoping this will change for the DSi. 

Anyway, I hope to still be on a much as I can...and see you guys still.  I do have a question on laptop computers do I need to buy a power converter or does the power cord box already take care of electricity regulation for that.

Today is day 2 of another addition of NWR Mafia, and it seems the forums are acting up.

The formatting has gone crazy and everything is centered, but worse is that PM messages to anyone states that they have been blocked. 

If any Moderators read this please check and see if anything can be done.

I want to ask the moderators if a new forum can be created like the Funhouse thread that collects all the Mafia threads in one location.

The Mafia games played at NWR have become a huge part of the NWR culture.  Many discussions have been made about the game, and over 30 games played and counting it seems a new forum would be a great way to keep NWR organized.

It would be allow us to have a sticky-ed rules thread with the most general Mafa rules and roles for new players and old players to have a resource on roles and rules for the game. 

Khushrenada's Mafia Hall of Fame could be sticky-ed as well to be a one stop index for the new forum...yes I know it would have to be edited but it would be a labor of love for Khush. 

I know it will be a lot of work to move each individual thread over, but I do believe it is something most people on the boards would appreciate both those that play Mafia and those that do not.

Day 5.

The Mafia have secured the townies...all is lost.

But then on Haloween Night.  The Great Pumpkin finally rises...and brings all the dead back.

Today, the living can vote to kill one person...the dead can vote out one person...and the Mafia get 2 hits (The Godfathers, and the Great Pumpkins)

Everyone that has an ability can use their action...but results do not actually change the outcome of the real Mafia game.

Stevey can finally vote out Khush...if he can get the votes.

So I was updating my friend codes for NWR and searched and searched for a Doctor Mario Friend Code thread in the Friend Codes section and could not find it.

There is a possibility I over looked it 3 times...and in which case I need to get my eyes checked.

However, if I did not over look it...please can one be created.

I have been trying to figure out how Nintendo's new storage solution will work. 

We now know you can save directly to the SD Card, but no mention of playing from the SD Card.  Instead, Nintendo stated it will be easy to transfer from SD Card to Wii.  (Read: Faster)

Well, this could mean one of two solutions.

1)Nintendo has just upgraded its SD Card firmware, and we will have the same issues as before it will just be easier and quicker than we had to deal with.  Not really a solution.

2)The second possibilities comes from an idea Activision is using...or is it Activision got the idea from Nintendo with a heads up.

What is a portion of the Nintendo Wii SD Card say 1,000 blocks is reserved for fast swap channels from the SD Card.  This will allow the appearance of playing games from your SD Card, but not really.  You will open into the SD Card Channel menus pick a game, that will be quickly uploaded to the Wii for play...and when you end the game, it will be deleted off the Wii memory. 

Since there is a limit to the size of games available for Wii Ware, it is easy for Nintendo to reserve an usable amount of Wii memory for this option, and for all intents and purposes we will be able to play games from our SD Cards, without having to deal with possible lag issues of playing games on our SD Cards.

Recently, my Live Journal account was purged which had my all my perfectly sized avatars for NWR.  So I have nothing to go to at the time...and I would have to ask my artist friend to make a new one for me...with his art style like I have had for years.

Instead, I am going to ask you guys to create an avatar for me...whatever you want with just a few simple rules.

1) Nothing obscene, or insulting to anyone on these boards.
2) Nothing Political.
3) Nothing that is just a hot girl.

I will close the thread in a few days, and we will vote one top 3, and I will pick from those 3 available.

Also, just a reminder my last avatar had a spiky hair do, a Nintendo Zapper, and other Nintendo references to it.

Nintendo Gaming / New Nintendo Portable...when?

When do you think Nintendo will reveal a new portable system?

The DS has been an amazingly successful system...and it makes me wonder when Nintendo will decide to announce the next portable system.

To me it makes sense to do it sooner than later...perhaps even this year at E3 or Tokyo Game Show...note that I don't think it should be released this year, actually Next Year perhaps around Summer in Japan would be a great launch and then Christmas for the rest of the world.

This would put pressure on Sony with the PSP to come up with something else, before PSP has succeeded in really getting good market share...and Nintendo can make the new portable compatible with the original DS, and add features and graphic powers.

What would I add to the system.  Instead of a D-Pad a type of Analog input device 1.  Keep the button layout the same...finally add multi-touch feature for the touch screen...and perhaps add touch screen to both screens...or motion technology to the system.

I think this would be a great move, and would allow Nintendo to get a head start on the new portable market before Apple, Microsoft, or Sony could take it from them...and it sets them up to plan for a Wii 2 around 2010...which would be completely compatible with the Wii and have better graphics and such.

On Earth Beta:

Now that the townies have entered the weekend they are getting lazy.  Now is the time to strike now that they our with their families and friends.  Dasmos and Stevey jump into action and kill Crimm in front of his Bowling Alley Buddies. 

Crimm was a poor Townie.

Next, they stormed the home of Pyropizm and killed him in front of his Dog and Fish...it was brutal and the Fish cried tears of sand. 


Earth Beta:

Pyropizm
crimm      Both townies are now dead.


On Earth Alpah another body was found.

Pyropizm was found murdered with 12 coats on two pairs of pants. 

"What sort of monster would kill somebody like this...we must do something?"  We are going to invade Beta and save  them from the Mafia Monsters.

As the townies steal a NASA Space Shuttle and fly to the opening of the Rift...another Storm began to form....It was a fierce storm that forced the shuttle to land...and Alpha was stuck in their land.

When the storm ended...the rift was sealed and the two Earth's were separated.

Finally, the Townies were safe in Alpha, and they mourned for Earth Beta, and then celebrated their victory with mojitos. 


On the Earth Beta...now that Crimm and Pyropizm are dead the Mafia now have a lead of members and will rule Earth Beta with an iron fist of iron Chef goodness. 

In Earth Beta the mafia win.

I thought it was vudu...because it was dark outside...but no it was AnimeCyberrat.

Look he can see his whiskers there.

So what does that mean?  All the Mafia are dead...right?

It means Beta Mafia can still kill us here...it means we are not safe until all the Mafia are dead...and that means we must help our Brothers...

For I am afraid...that if they out number us here and in Beta there is nothing that can stop them.

Shift Key...I will kill you my plan is perfect.

Nickmitch as finishing his master plan when the mob stormed his house.

Grab him...Shift Key demanded and the mob took him to burn at the stake.

As he slowly died...Nickmitch spoke his last words.  I am Mafia and you got me...but you Shift Key shall die.
In the struggle I injected you with a poison that will blow up your head...nothing can be done to stop it.

Just then as if narrated and planned by a writer...or at least someone with a Death Note...Shift Key's head blew up and rained blood on the mob...and it was over.
