Topic: What PC games are there that a Console gamer might enjoy?

oh I forgot about Battlefront. That is one I wanted to try.

I think Battlefront 2 is better in every possible way.  On top of better class balance and maps, it has a good single player campaign and features hero units such as Boba Fett and Darth Vader that you can use when certain conditions are met.  It also has space battles.

Last time I tried Empire at War, it ran on my system but needed a video card and so it was kinda sluggish. But I think this card I have should do the trick. As for Battlefront goes, 1 or 2, they are not as demanding correct?

According to Gamespot, Empire at War has higher requirements.  If you click the Game Details link in the box on the right on one of their pages for a PC game, you can see the requirements.  It comes in handy.  I don't know where to look on IGN or anywhere else, or if they even have them.

PC requirements are a load of horse **** in my experience. My system was vastly superior to Halo and the god damn Xbox and it still wouldn't run that fucking game without a better video card. The problem is sometimes they only list RAM and some special feature your video card is supposed to have but you don't know if it does or not. I mean my computer exceeds the recommended requirements to run fucking Halo and it still wouldn't run because I didn't have "Hardware T&L" and I do not even know if this video card I bought has that or not, I couldn't find out anywhere.

I guess it all goes back to try the demo first.

Every video card made since 2001 should have Hardware T&L.  If it has GeForce or Radeon in the name, it should be fine.  Other things to look for include DirectX 7.0 (or higher) compatibility, since that was the first version of DirectX to require it.

Halo's PC port wasn't exactly optimized, so the fact that a PC faster than an Xbox didn't meet the requirements doesn't surprise me.

What didn't make sense was the requirements said Pentium 3, or higher, mine is a Sempron 2.0 Ghz, which last time I checked is at least double the speed of a Pentium 3. But My card does say Directx8 on it but I know I have directx 9 on my system so I am not sure how that affects things.

MDK2. That's all you need. Sure it's also on Dreamcast, and I believe PS2, but it started on the PC, and it's awesome.
