Donkey Kong Country Returns sold almost twice as well as Skyward Sword. 50% more sales in North America.

Well if it makes a difference I will offset Brandogg not buying as Hyrule Warriors will be the first game I buy whenever I do get a Wii U.

Obviously I'm not saying that I have any influence on game sales, or am any kind of standard to go buy (I even have Black Ops 2 for Wii U), but Super Mario 3D World has barely sold 2 million. Here's my prediction - 80,000 in the US by the end of the year, 50,000 in the Europe.

I get that, I don't mean total sales but just among this community. I don't think last years sales amount to much in this discussion because Mario Kart 8 is pushing things forward and by the time Hyrule Warriors launches in the US the install base should be higher than it was when 3D World launched giving it a potential to pick up bigger numbers. Also I am curious what Mario 3D world numbers will be like after the holiday season once more people have the console and need games to play.

I predict Hyrule Warriors will easily surpass a million sales and achieve a 99.99999% attach rate, selling to every person who owns a Wii U except Brandogg.

And marvel_moviefan_2012 will buy one out of spite, even though he doesn't have a Wii U, putting it at an effective 100% attach rate.

HW is already at 100,000 in Japan 2 weeks in. I can't remember the last time a WiiU game sold more in Japan than in the US.  This type of showing lends itself to the 200,000 YTD, which would only be about 5k a week till the end of the year.

What I can see hurting the title in the us is if all the goodies are already known about the game by launch and some folks seem to be underwhelmed.

The lack of awesome scarf action pre orders also hurts.

I have a feeling that Hyrule Warriors will sell well at first because of the Zelda name but because it's, you know, a Dynasty Warriors game, I expect that it won't be all that good and then sales will drop like a rock as word spreads.  Zelda is associated with a very high standard of quality and Dynasty Warriors doesn't have even near that reputation.  I predict another Other M (hey, look at what useless turds are working on this game) and we'll have the rare first party Nintendo title that shows up in bargain bins.

Ian Sane has a point, however the fact that Nintendo is overseeing the development gives me more hope than if team ninja was left to their own devices. Plus never underestimate the American Zelda Fan. Hyrule Historia was in the top 10 books on Amazon.com for the year and that's all  genres.

Our voice will be heard. I'm buying Zelda monopoly just because its Zelda.

Everyone has to buy two copies and give one to a friend. Then that friend will have to either get a Wii U or sell the game on ebay. Wow now I am having flash backs to those desperate days during the middle of the GameCubes life when there were discussions of how many family members to buy Game Cubes as Christmas presents just to get more systems sold.
