Blazing Saddles huh....

In todays "Cops (gang w/ badges)" "#BLM" "Political Race(ist)" climate, I wonder how that would go over. I personally found the movie hilarious back in the day, but it can be quite offensive if taken the wrong way.

Name one good thing about Shaun of the Dead: The entire first 20 minutes are amazing. The outbreak is happening and shaun is oblivious. Its a good movie to pay attention to the background. Also watch Dawn of the Dead 78' first. Bet half the jokes are lost on you otherwise. Night of the Living Dead too.  Barbara were coming to get you!

Bite your tongue, Shyguy! It was brilliant! I loved every minute of it.

Really felt like a perfect blend of campy tongue-in-cheek humor that was true to the old Tick shows while also broadening the scope in a way that is relevant to more modenr superhero movies. I've watched it twice, once alone and again with my wife. She thought it was hilarious.

I was disappointed that Patrick Warburton was not reprising his role as The Tick, but it looks like he was a producer in this show. The new Tick actor is also a great fit for the role so I have a lot of high hopes for where this show can go.

I wonder if they will fix the story and make it more accurate to the original Chinese myth?  I remember the original story getting some bad press, because they focused on the Father not being accepting of his daughter...however the original he sends her out for him.  You can still have a beautiful female empowerment move as she faces off against sexism in the military, but giving her a father that sends her off in honor would be very empowering to the family.

And it would be a rare opportunity to have a positive father figure in a Disney movie where he wasn't dead before the story began...

... in memory of Gene Wilder.

Yeah right, nobody remembered the poor man until he died. I loved his early works but even I thought he had to be dead already, his death was just a shock because people were like "oh **** he was still alive?"

It's sad how he died but even the old timers who "remember" him likely forgot him he was out of the spotlight for so long.

Sorry just my observations.

I will quietly walk away now.

Well, S7-01 of Walking Dead did not disappoint! I called what happened to each person. This season is shaping up to be a real continuance of what worked last season.

So Logan is not even going to try and continue the obvious setup at the end of the last film where Yukio leaves with him to go anywhere?

Nice to see that franchise is still a mess.

Plugabugz:  Since this might be the last movie for Hugh Jackman to play Wolverine, they wanted to tell another story.  It also seems they are trying to tell stories influenced by popular comics in the X-Men franchise.  Old Man Logan is pretty influential.

I personally like that they are jumping around and telling interesting good stories than just trying to continue a story.  I was also quite impressed with that trailer.

Finally watched the Logan trailer. Way more excited for this than I thought I would be. Especially happy to see Patrick Stewart return. I like that it appears to just be the two of them instead of it being a cluster **** of different talent in an ensemble film. Makes it feel much more intimate and personal.

I do still need to see that last two Wolverine movies as I have not seen one since Origins. Might marathon them all before seeing it to catch up (yes, I know they aren't directly tied to each other, just need an excuse to watch them all).

"They wanted to tell another story" seems to be the running theme of nearly the entire movie franchise though.

It's no different than what they do in the comic books though. I am glad the movie adaptations are doing what worked in the comics, forgetting minute continuity crap that inhibits the story and just giving themselves the freedom to make each movie it's own thing. I like how you can jump into any X-Men movie and it has a story you can watch. The other Avengers stuff if you miss one movie you feel like you missed an entire season of a TV show and don't know what the hell is going on.

The X-men can pull off the James Bond Continuity thing under the premise of alternate universes/time lines.
