Looks cool, but I'm not sure how they will explain how Archangel is (much) older than Angel. I understand that DOFP basically erased much of the other franchises, so maybe Warren Worthington III is born earlier now, which I guess could make sense, but it would still be odd that he would also be born a mutant...unless all of his parents' children would have the gene.

With the spin off and Supergirl coming up next season, we are gonna have to make an Arrowverse/DCTVU thread to contain it all.

and that video reminded me of a Justice League episode. One where the heroes were Canary and I think a few others were under some sort of mind control to do underground fighting gambling ring.
anyone remember that episode?

The ring itself was very similar to that one if my memory serves me correctly.

Canary, Huntress, Vixen, Hawk Girl, and Wonder Woman.

It was a great episode highlighting the women of the universe.  One of the best episodes by far.  I really want down that series digitally, but I already bought it once, and the price is too high on itunes.

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage

Together on Netflix, at last!

And seeing how Daredevil went, Aka Jessica Jones will certainly be one not to miss.

Especially once this Purple man makes his entrance ;)

The CW Trailer was pretty neat, both shows have been ramping up lately. I hope Vixen has a live-action guest appearance on one of the shows.

I was underwhelmed.  It looks like that test footage from a while back got kept.

It was too dark and gritty for me.  Like, the whole world hates Superman? Why?  Batman is suiting up to fight him because reasons?  The Marvel movies have some color and fun to them.  This looks. . .dreary.

Pretty much my main issue with the DC verse, which began with The Dark Knight. They think that realism means hefty consequences and darkness and edge.

eh I like that it isn't the same tonally than the marvel films. The trailer alone has me more excited about than anything Marvel has announced since its such a different take on the reprecussions of being a superhuman.

Well in universe like Marvel or DC realsim would mean hefty consequences, and come on its batman who people seem to like dark for some reason compared to Bat family.

Dark Knight wasn't apart of the DCCU and everything the universe makes its seem anything than dark. Than again i'm still wondering why people call man of steel grim and gritty.

Marvel has it both ways and in between.

From light to dark:
Avengers/movies have all been fairly light in tone
Agents of SHIELD is the middle ground
Daredevil (Netflix series) is the grim dark

Something for everyone.
DCCU hasn't had enough content to claim that they aren't only going monotone, but everything they've shown/talked about so far suggest that's where they're headed.

Expect we reportdly have Lord and Miller on the The Flash.
Suicide Squad looks like an expendables style action movie.
Shazam being described as an all age film thats's about being a 10 year old's power fantasy.
Flash and Arrow are incredibly cheesy.

Not to say I don't disagree with you but they're taking alot of inspiration from The Dark Knight Rises (Bleh) in not only tone but story beats for the main conflict. I wonder how they plan to weave in this being an Origin story for Luther and the rest of the Universe when TDKR was a commentary on superman at the time and sadly spawned countless comics that missed the point that it and its contemporaries Watchmen and mircaleman were mainly lampooning.

I'm a huge DC Comics stan and I find the follow up being based upon what happens in man of steel cool. My biggest complaint about the MCU was we never got a real indepth look at the fallout from New York. That said I hate some of what Warner is doing like not linking the TV series with the films.

I'm a bit worried about Justice League and Wonder Woman though but that might be the ideas they're going to use.

Doom looks awful. I think the problem with translating Doom to the big screen is you just need to embrace him. Victor Von Doom is from the kingdom of Latveria and he wears a metal mask, armor and a green cloak.

this is what the actor playing Doom had to say....
Quote
“He’s Victor Domashev, not Victor von Doom in our story. And I’m sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I’m a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m ‘Doom.’

I believe that alone is all the reason anyone needs to not question the lack of enthusiasm for this movie prior to the trailer which only aims to justify said lack of enthusiasm.

[Fantastic 4] trailer #2

and yes, that is an accurate correction.

I remember reading that quote.  The Doom in the trailer didn't look quite like some hacker guy, so I dunno.  But watching the trailer with that in the brain makes me think more negatively on it.

Lord & Miller making a theatrical Animated Spider-Man movie

Quote from: PR
LAS VEGAS, April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 20, 2018, Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, the directors of The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and 21 and 22 Jump Street, are taking Spider-Man back to his graphic roots with the first-of-its-kind animated Spider-Man feature, it was announced today at CinemaCon by Tom Rothman, chairman of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group. The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, all of which are continuing.

Lord & Miller are masterminding the project, writing the treatment and producing the film.

As previously announced, Spider-Man will next appear in a live-action Marvel film from Marvel's Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, a live-action film being produced by Kevin Feige at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. The animated film from Lord & Miller, dated July 20, 2018, has Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Pascal also serving as producers.

Spider-Man, embraced all over the world, is the most successful franchise in the history of Sony Pictures, with the five films having taken in more than $4 billion worldwide.
