Crap I forgot to post that this morning. That's a fucking great trailer. Godzilla looks like a mix of the original and the Matthew Broderick version...which is how he should have looked in that movie. Anyway, the scream at the end is probably the best thing of all time in the history of things.

Well it's a good thing, since I posted it last night ;) :P:

But yes, unlike the last Godzilla, I'm looking forward to this one.
I already know I'm gonna keep wondering when the Son of Anarchy is gonna come wandering in with his Megazord and fight Godzilla straight up like Rock-em-Sock-em Robots vs the lizard creature from Rampage.

p.s. and apparently Heisenburg Hal has a dream of a different life this time. wonder if he makes it out alive.

If you do a Google image search for Godzilla 2013 Comic-Con, you'll come up with a bunch of conceptual models that show the direction they're going with the big guy. Gareth Edwards has said that his vision was that somebody from Japan saw Godzilla in 1954 (like, for real) and ran back to Toho and tried to describe him. Their movies were the result, but Gareth's version is the real thing.

There's really no comparison to GINO--they're making him enormous and muscle-bound. But seriously, do that Google search. The little statues give me so much hope.

Sony working on Sinister Six & Venom movie

Garfield states his contract is up after ASM3, so I wonder if he will be in these next few movies after that.

And if Spider-Man isn't in either movie, I wonder if that will be the loophole Marvel needs to get th he franchise back (or is it just any movie using the characters from the license had to be made every 5 years)?

Basically, Sony isn't willingly going to give up Spider-Man without Disney giving them a dump truck full of money - so I'm sure whatever they're planning will keep him in-house as long as possible.

Is there realy any value to it besides lesbian scene(s)?

I like Mulholland Drive and Bound for that but i also find some additional justification that these are also genuinely great movies.

Barry Allen was introduced on Arrow last night. uptick in ratings for the night. Character intro was successful and backdoor pilot episode has been moved into full solo-pilot episode.

Details for that Pilot are sufacing.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=49531

1. Casting for Iris West is be for an African American actress
2. She is Barry Allens best friend and secret love interest.
3. She is a Psych Major and her dad is a Police Detective
4. They took in Barry when his mother was killed and father wrongly accused of murdering her
5. ......?
6. Wally West to be the first (half)Black Flash!?

Quote
IRIS - 22-28 - African-American - As smart as she is beautiful, Iris is in grad school studying psychology. She's also Barry's mile a minute, fast-talking, quick-witted best friend. Her father, Detective West, took in Barry when his mother was murdered, and his father was wrongly accused and imprisoned for her murder. In a tough childhood for Barry, she was the one "not tough" thing. She's unaware of Barry's strong feelings for her.

DETECTIVE WEST - Late 40s to Early 50s - African American -Detective West is an honest, blue-collar cop who's seen it all. A soulful, funny caring father to Iris, and a surrogate father to Barry, West came up through the foster system himself. He took in Barry after his mother's murder and his father's imprisonment. He believes in Barry and supports Barry's efforts to prove his father's innocence.

The Flash pilot is being handled by some of the same people responsible for Arrow, so high hopes are had.
And here is the Logo

Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) may be up for the part of the Adoptive Father of Barry Allen - The Flash
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/nailbiter111/news/?a=91705
Quote
At about the 4:50 mark of the Cross The Streams podcast (click here to listen), Ghostbusters' Ernie Hudson discussed his upcoming projects. "In the meantime there's a spin-off of Arrow called Flash," he said. "I'm meeting the creators next week. So, I have to prepare for that." When asked which role he was up for, Hudson replied "His adoptive dad,...or the dad of..."

Before Hudson could disclose any further information, he decides to cut himself off as to not reveal too much. "His (Barry Allen) dad has a problem," is the final morsel of info that slips from his lips. And based on Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) debut in CW's Arrow we know that Barry's father was incarcerated for the murder of Barry's mother. So, if we take Ernie Hudson's information, and a casting call that Bludhaven Banter posted it's pretty safe to assume that Hudson is up for the role of Detective West, Iris' father.

Apparently the studio wants Joaquin Phoenix for Lex
http://variety.com/2013/film/news/warners-joaquin-phoenix-batman-superman-1200969925/

Quote
After already reaping notice for his performance in “Her,” Joaquin Phoenix could be working with Warner Bros. again on the studio’s biggest property.

Sources tell Variety that the studio wants the Oscar-nominated actor for a role in the upcoming untitled Batman-Superman pic. However, it’s very early in the process and even if Warners offers Phoenix a role, it’s not clear he would accept as the actor has steered clear of big-budget pics in the past few years, leaning towards movies with a more prestige feel.
[...]
Though sources couldn’t confirm what the role is, it’s believed to be for the main antagonist, which is likely to be Lex Luthor. Names like Jason Momoa and Callan Mulvey have been linked to the film but even if those actors are cast, sources are saying that they wouldn’t play the main villain, and that Warners has always wanted someone who would be a slam dunk in the role.

I can see it. I still favor a Black Lex for ummm... reasons... that umm... line up with the cartoons... yeah, the cartoons. that's why I want a Black Lex. cartoon continuity.

Ben Affleck (aka Batfleck) already using his power of influence on the BvS script!?
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/batman-superman-chris-terrio-write-666735

Quote
Warner Bros. is bringing Argo writer Chris Terrio into the Batman-Superman universe.

The Oscar-winning writer, who recently changed agencies from CAA to WME, has been brought in to write a draft of the Man of Steel follow-up, Batman-Superman.

Terrio has a strong relationship with the studio and the film's star Ben Affleck. Affleck directed and starred in Argo, which won last year's best picture Oscar for Warners.
[...]
David Goyer wrote the screenplay, which is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster (Superman) and Bob Kane (Batman). But sources say Terrio has been brought in to get the script in shape before filming begins. Goyer has been tied up with a number of other DC Comics titles including Sandman.

Good News? Bad News? Hope for the script?

So, they have been busy casting all kinds of actors for roles in this movie and now they are realizing that maybe they need a better script and starting to do re-writes. That is not good. Maybe if I look up the writer's other works I'll have a better idea of whether this is good or not but writing Argo does not impress me.

Argo was an ok movie but overall, a lot of situations felt contrived. The children pieced together the shredded pics of the missing American Embassy workers just as Affleck arrives. Goodman and Arkin's characters are being held up by a film shoot just as the guard phones to check on the American's story. The guards chase the airplane all across the runway but nobody seems to see this or cause the airplane to stop. It tried to be suspenseful but it just caused me to roll my eyes. I just don't get why so many people thought it was such a good movie. It was fine enough but I'm finding it more and more forgettable and have to remind myself the movie exists at times. Thus, it is not encouraging news that this SvsB has hired this writer.
Whoever said, "Cheaters never win" must've never met Khushrenada.

Could go either way.  You can easily have too many rewrites, but we don't know exactly what they're working with currently.  Hopefully, he's not just there to further represent Ben Affleck's influence and is able to contribute positively.

I'm sure lots of people would consider it good news that Goyer's script is being revised/fine-tuned at all outside of Goyer, and some may even say that Affleck, being a comic guy, should hopefully have a good influence (through Terrio) on whatever Goyer came up with.

If Affleck is influencing the script, then it probably means that Kevin Smith may be indirectly advising as well, as I hear that Affleck and Smith are quite close and would probably discuss such things privately.

I'm hoping that they remember that non-comic book people are gonna watch this movie. Normal movie goers do not know who Nightwing is. Nor are they familiar with Martian Manhunter. Too many new characters is just going to be confusing. You've got two headliners, there's no need overcrowd.

They are taking the shortcut to the Avengers, unfortunately, I don't think it will have the same pay off since it won't exactly have the same build up.
If this next movie fails to hold it's audience, or even build one on top of Man of Steel, then the universe is effectively dead before it really began.

So hopefully most of these other characters are mostly cameos and/or part of a 5-10 minute post credit short that kinda introduces them for the next movie. A JL Teaser of sorts.
Having an established Superman, a new Batman, a new Lex Luther and possibly 1 other Big Bad (played by failed Conan?) is already a big thing to juggle. A cameo or minor role/cameo by Wonder Woman and/or Nightwing is already jam packing it with introductions to "new" characters. Lots of back stories to fill, personalities to construct and relationships to build.
Only going to be more difficult when you add in Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, The Flash, Green Arrow and possibly even Aquaman.

The only way I see it working out is if the do a 'lord of the rings' and get the actors for multiple films and record them all back-to-back with one cohesive story.

First film is BatVsSupes. Second is formation of JL. Third is the climax with a greater evil being defeated. The the first movie focuses on the rivalry of the two main protagonists whither minor introductions of the others teaing towards the rest of the trilogy.

The way this movie sounds, I'm not even sure if I still want see the DCCU attached to the Arrowverse on TV.

They should stay separate until we can determine if the DCCU is on the same level as the Arrowverse.
But the DCCU better hurry up and figure this **** out, because the Arrowverse not only has a headstart, but they are burning through the DC villian list faster than DCCU can think of scripts ideas for movies.

Did they really do a shortcut to the Avengers though? The MCU didn't get hyped up until after the avengers and at the time most of the avengers audience had only seen the two Iron Man movies. Avengers itself barley refrenced the other films and used expoistion to explain who everyone was.

Its not surprising they brought the Argo dude in if Goyer is about to spend mot of his time on Sandman with JGL. I'm pretty sure one of the reasons why Affeleck to the Batman role in the frist place because he gets first pick to direct future Batman films and he's probably in the top three to direct Justice League.
