This might come as a surprise, but I picked up a couple of those Skylanders things today to add to my small collection.

That's the best Skylander yet, I'm telling you.

Is there some sort of cleverness here that UncleBob collects an incredibly impressive and awesome amount of figures and games from a series primarily developed by Toys for Bob?

I picked up Dead or Alive Dimensions and Steel Diver recently for dirt cheap. Let's party like it's May 2011.

I found a copy of Project X Zone for $8.

I'll let you all decide if I've made a good purchase or not.

I decided to go ahead and pick up Donkey Kong for original Game Boy. I had this game before it as one of my favorites and pretty much the reason I bought a GBA in the first place recently. I am not sure why I took this long to pick it up, it was pretty cheap.

Such a fantastic BIG little game. Pitch perfect example of Nintendo design.

It was the ONLY game I had besides Tetris for years as a kid. Well teenager but still. I am seriously contemplating buying a Game Cube with Game Boy Player just because I am getting tired of trying to play on the tiny GBA screen but I now have so many GB games to play I should be looking for a better way to play.

Ooh... I'm a big fan of the Game Boy Player (even though I've sold mine now). Used to have one with GameCube component cables, which made playing portable games on the big screen fantastic... don't regret selling because the pricing had gone insane for those cables, but do miss having that unit.

The only disappointment is that it doesn't have the special borders and coloring that the Super Game Boy hardware added. Really a shame that Nintendo didn't have that extra functionality included when they made the new hardware.

My favorite thing about DK'94 are all the secret moves that Mario has. They aren't things you unlock - they can be done from the very first level if you know how. But it's only by watching the little cut scenes between stages that you find out what Mario is really capable of.  Playing through the game a second time with full knowledge of what he can do makes the game play very differently!

Well it looks like my next console purchase won't be until March so I am going to hold off on Sony VR and save up for a Switch. That also means I won't bet buying a PSP right away or picking up a Game Cube or  Game Boy Player. Too bad GBP doesn't work with Wii or else I would be half way there.

lucky bugger!
I have decided (in my mind) that I just have too much backlogged stuff right now to shell out for DMW2.
But ... Halloween costumes ... so tempting!
Is there any online interactivity with this title (and other players)?
Oui, Mon Gars!

If I didn't buy any games because of my backlog, I'd never buy any new games!  :-X

There is SpotPass for new items, StreetPass to invite people to your version of Castleton. The beginning is a bit slow, especially as someone who played through the original. It's an extended tutorial that covers everything from dungeons, working the cafe, making clothes, etc. When the game finally opens up (took about an hour to an hour-and-a-half), it's a lot of fun!

I loved the original (as you prob know) and I am very tempted by the Halloween time-limited promo stuff.

Did you know you could download (or unlock) new stuff in the original game by scanning virtual AR cards? I found some online the other day. I never did that. Might go back and try it now just for kicks.
Is there similar functionality with DMW2 I wonder?
Oui, Mon Gars!

I thought I saw a "Read card" option in the opening menu, but I can't confirm it as I might have misread it. I did get a coin voucher for 50,000 coins and a Golden Mickey Balloon for having Disney Magical World data on my micro SD card, so that was a cool bonus. I sort of went off topic there, so sorry about that!

I just ordered World of Final Fantasy online from Best Buy. Got the Vita version due to affordability compared to the PS4 version, portability, and knowing that the Vita version doesn't have any serious performance problems.

I got Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and Portrait of Ruin off gamestop. I also picked up a Nerf case for my DS lite for dirt cheap. It's really nice for me to play the DS lite and it (somewhat) hides the massive bulge from having a GBA cart in there.

I must be in a 4X strategy kind of mood right now, because in the last few days I've bought both Civilization VI and Stellaris.

The whole reason I bought my current laptop was to play Sims 3, I bought it thinking my old laptop could handle it but turns out it overheated the thing bad. Most online games did that so I wrote it off as a bad laptop for gaming. Anyways I have had this new laptop since late August and I completely forgot to download and install the Sims game I wanted to play. Now I don't even have any interest because I grabbed the original Sims on PS2 during that stretch before I upgraded and it suited me just fine. Now I am thinking I might actually download the game and give it a proper go. But I forgot my EA online password and nolonger have access to the email I used to sign up to recover it and don't want to go through the hassle of contacting customer support so I either do without it, or make a new account and rebuy the game. Damn it why don't they just let me use the same password for everything stupid North Korea and their stupid hackers. Or whoever it was hacking everyone to make them up their security. I miss the days where I just had the same password and I used it for everything. /Rant.

So I got a recent Humble Bundle on PC for Assault Android Cactus, since it looks like a true modern take on Robotron. Was going to get it for Wii U eventually, but that release date is still tbd so I've decided to settle for mouse & keyboard controls.

Do have a bunch of Steam codes left now though, if anyone would like one of the following games for free just comment or let me know and I can gift you the code, if that's allowed on this forum? The games are: Odallus The Dark Call (sort of castlevania~ish), Chroma Squad (looks like power rangers), Westerado Double Barreled (western cowboy stuff), Spaera (early access puzzle game).

So I got a recent Humble Bundle on PC ...

I also grabbed this. Looked like a couple of the games were very decent.

Would like to play Westerado, but don't have a platform to play on.  Getting a gaming computer (even an underpowered one just indie Steam games) is so expensive when you are starting from scratch... My plan is to wait another couple of years and buy a PC instead of a new console, then start to enjoy that Humble Bundle backlog.
