I am seeing reports that it's not  glitch, but it's only free to Xbox Live Gold members. Bah. For those with Gold, when you select the game it will be listed at $19.99, you have to choose "Pay with Microsoft Points" to get it free.

MS is releasing two games/month free to Xbox Live Gold members starting this month with Fable III being the first game.  The new program is to compete with Sony's PS+.  The announcement came during MS E3 super-slim Xbox 360 reveal.

Except its better than PlayStation Plus because you can keep the games even if your Gold subscription ends (so you actually own the games, not just getting to borrow them).

Yet, my friends who have PS+ have over 50 free games across their PS3 and Vita. For less than what Gold is normally priced at. Two a month this late in the consoles life is useless.

I am sure your friends love renting their games. Microsoft may ramp up the program. Even if they don't, Gold members get to OWN these games (so they can keep them forever). I would rather own a game than get to rent it.

Fable III is free but not part of the program. The first two will be Halo 3 and Assasin's Creed II.

If it's like Sony's program, you'll own/have them for as long as you continue to be an "member".  Been an PS+ guy for two years now and I'm loving it, though most of the games that become free I already played/owned but there's plenty of indie titles I got to play free.

From what I have read and seen, it will not be like PS+ because you will get to actually own the games rather than just rent them. With PS+, you don't actually own the games.

I meant to post this earlier, I paid $5 because I'm cheap and won't likely actually play any of the games anyway, so I basically just donated money to charity to add titles to my backlog.

A purchase of $1 or more gets you Origin* keys for all the games, and you can also get Steam keys for Dead Space, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Medal of Honor, and Mirror's Edge! Beat the average to also get The Sims 3, two expansion packs in The Sims 3 Starter Pack, and Battlefield 3.

You get steam keys for all available steam games with a minimum contribution of $1 or more. beating the average gets you the extra games.

New Humble Bundle is fairly attractive.  Fez and FTL if you beat the average; Trine 2, Brutal Legend, Mark of the Ninja, and a game I've never heard of as the "base" package.


So when are we going to see a cheap Steam box that conveniently connects to my TV already? I hate playing games on my PC.
