I haven't played too far into it just yet, but there is definitely no cutscenes of that length at the beginning. You are treated to an on again off again cutscene through the whole introduction of the game but it is actually very well done and engaging regardless of the fact that you aren't playing the entire time.

Yup, this was the game that did it for me. I'm actually really happy I did buy it though. I think I already like it better than the 360. Plus I get a Blu-Ray player which I definitely won't complain about. Once the BR-DVDs are reasonable, I'll be picking them up instead of regular DVDs.

Once they are reasonable? Will that actually happen? I foresee BR-DVDs being at least $5-10 more than DVDs for the next year or two.

I will not buy a Blue-Ray device until they are around $100-149 and the price per BR-DVD is the same as regular DVDs. Which means I will not buy one for a couple of years.

MGS4 is fairly tame when it comes to being a big seller, so chances are this won't be the "it" game for very long.

Well, I wanted to buy this with the PS3 bundle and the Walmart deal, but neither of my local Walmarts even got the bundle, and my local Best Buy won't match the deal, so I'm back to waiting for a price drop.

Your Walmarts suck.

I spent my $100 on a HDMI cable and optical audio cable, another controller, and Jumper on Blu-Ray (just had to pick one movie, and this one looked the most entertaining. Also not rebuying any movie I already own on DVD.)

I also just past the point in the game with the arms dealer Drebin. What a long ass boring cutscene that was.

IGN says the longest cutscene is 45 minutes. Under my own personal rubric, that makes MGS4 automatically ineligible to receive a perfect score.

I am so glad Nintendo is offering an alternative.
