Now heres a question do we even want them back now? Lucas Arts has a new team working on a StarWars for the Wii so Factor5 is out of luck doing another rehash of Rouge Squadron. And it seems like thats the only thing they have ever been good at.

So they made rehashes now. Not that I totally disagree, but I find it funny how quickly the tides change. Factor 5's GCN offerings are rehashes. But back when they were in Nintendo's camp, Nintendo fans couldn't keep their hands off their penises. Hmm....

Personally, I want Factor 5 making games exclusively for Wii. Why not? Because they made one game for Sony? Exclusivity, or even just more support, only makes Wii an even stronger platform.

Saying a game is easier than New Super Mario Bros. doesn't say much at all.

No, I meant Adam Sessler. That guy has always irked me. I just used Olivia Munn as an example of someone on G4 who isn't annoying since others like Tina Wood either left the network or got fired.

I actually don't mind Kevin Pereira. I'm not about to go out of my way to watch Attack of the Show but if it's on, it's not like I'm so irritated by Pereira that I have to change the channel.

Anyway, I find this G4 TV channel kind of useless. I guess it's nice that Wii is getting enough attention to cause such a thing to happen though.

Yeah, I heard the 20 hours thing, but that probably means less than 20 hours. Twilight Princess sure as hell wasn't 70+ hours and I got everything except some poes.

Don't get me wrong. I like the Paper Mario games, but I'm more interested in value considering how many games I'm buying this year. I can wait until the price drops to $30 or get it used at Gamecrazy. Within a week of God of War II's release, people were already trading it in so I'm sure Super Paper Mario will be coming around soon enough.

Morgan Webb wasn't annoying when X-Play actually reviewed games without the forced sarcasm and failed attempts at humor, which was also before they made her into this game goddess sex symbol.

G4 is a total joke of a network. Why is there so much Star Trek? And Cheaters? What the crap...... It needs to be a gaming and computing channel again.

The lower priced SKU's were pointless anyway. The extra $100 is totally worth it in both cases. The Core 360 was just utterly lame in every way. Really, you only save $60 because you'd need to buy a memory card. That may be a whole game right there, but still, the hard drive basically ensures that you'll never need more memory for saves and it's required for backwards compatibility.

F*ck G4TV. They ruined TechTV. And Adam Sessler is a douche. Not even Olivia Munn's hotness can balance out his unrelenting douchebaggery.

I don't know why I downloaded the internet channel. I guess out of principle... it's free and I can't pass that up.

Too bad it's so slow and no keyboard support sucks. My computer is like 5 steps away.

The DS IS lacking in traditional RPGs isn't it? What does it have to compare to Valkyrie Profile?

Oh, that's unfair. VP was one of the very best RPGs that very few people played. Saying DS is lacking RPGs because it doesn't have one to compare to Valkyrie Profile of all games is f-ing nuts.

Also, I wouldn't call Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth a tradtional RPG which is probably why it was so good.

I'd guess Captain Commando...

Maybe Strider.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Metroid Prime 3 Revolutionized

Almost everything associate with the Dark World was annoying in Echoes.

And Samus needs to explode when she dies. That was one of the cooler parts in the 2D Metroid games. The death scenes in the Prime series have been super-lame. That's not really Prime 2's problem, let alone a problem in general. It's just something I, as a Metroid fan, would like to see.

Oh, don't even get me started on Metroid Prime 2 (namely the Dark World and Nintendo's massive hard-on for the two-worlds mechanic). For Christ's sake, the box boasts of the "all-new ammo system." Are you motherf*cking kidding me? Nevermind, nevermind... let me just say:

It was a good, but seriously flawed game.

1 Reason Dead Rising Can Stay on Xbox 360 for All I Care (not counting the fact that I have a 360)

1. I don't feel like paying $50 to get bored after roughly 45 minutes.

Yeah, that's about right.

It's not just about original efforts. Portable gaming has to differentiate itself from console gaming. That's really the difference between DS and PSP.

I fully expect Umbrella Chronicles to be a bad game. I'll try it, but I expect the worst. I'd be more than happy if Capcom proved me wrong though.

Yeah, too late. DS is too strong.

There are a few games I want, but $170 is still too much. I actually expect some of those games to be ported to Wii....

And he also said:

NiGHTS would have been crap on the 360 but with the Wii controls, it has a chance to be something new and innovative.

...suggesting that it would've been a bad game on 360 without even playing the original. I don't deny that it would have sold poorly on 360, but to say it would've been "crap" is a bit misguided. Motion controls don't necessarily make a game better (Twilight Princess is about the same on Gamecube albeit with easier aiming). They can, but a good game is a good game, traditional controls or otherwise. I'm not convince that a game can't be new and innovative without traditional controls.

Nothing would have made it stand out on the 360 (except for the fact that it stars a jester-like character which would have turned off most of the 360 owners immediately). It would have just been using an analogue stick and thus would be similar to a number of other games (most of which also sold poorly).

Yeah, but that wouldn't make it a bad game. I like that Journey into Dreams is taking advantage of motion controls, but if it didn't, I think NiGHTS fans would still be happy getting a sequel and Nintendo fans would still be happy getting an exclusive for Wii.

Why? Was it lame when Zelda: tp didn't have Ocarina of Time and will it be lame when Mario Galaxy doesn't have Mario 64?
No.

Zelda and Mario aren't cult titles that are 11 years between releases so I don't think it's quite the same. Those are established franchises. They'll likely sell on their own merits. The same can't be said for something like NiGHTS.

Consider Dracula X Chronicles. It doesn't necessarily need Symphony of the Night and/or the original Rondo of Blood, but including them definitely makes the game more appealing. Some people might even buy it just for SotN. Whatever Sega can do to support Journey into Dreams, they should do. Even Nintendo had that Ocarina of Time pre-order bonus for Wind Waker which helped boost sales. I don't recall them doing that for many other games.

I'd appreciate the value of getting two games in one, but more importantly, including the original NiGHTS and advertising it as much could garner more interest in the title.

I don't think NiGHTS would've been crap on 360. It would've just been plain ignored. The only people making a big deal out of Journey into Dreams are fans of the original and Nintendo fans who like knowing that Wii is getting another exclusive. Some of those Nintendo fans probably aren't going to play the game anyway. They just like chalking the game as another victory for Wii.

Also, including the original NiGHTS is kind of the obvious choice. As soon as the sequel was made official, I expected it. If it's not included, that's friggin' lame.

An on-rails shooter? Failure.

My interest in Umbrella Chronicles has dropped quite a bit. I'll give it a shot, but this seems like such a missed opportunity especially with RE4's new control scheme. Let's hope the controls are handled well.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Official Wii Sales Thread

So how many units has Nintendo sold so far?

This says roughly 6.5 million while....

This says almost 6 million.

Those numbers seem close, but they're really not, especially when it places the gap between Xbox360 anywhere from 3-5 million units.

This is why I normally don't follow sales info. Who's numbers are correct? Nintendo wanted to ship 6 million by the end of March. Did they meet that goal? Did they sell every unit shipped? In my area, there isn't a Wii in stores anywhere, but is it sold out worldwide?

9923
Enhancements? What does that even mean?

I dislike cryptic interviews. I don't doubt something is in the works, but why bother with these "hints?" I'd much rather they just say nothing until a real announcement is made.

I didn't say I suddenly wasn't interested anymore. I just plan on renting NiGHTS first just in case. If Miyamoto made a really, REALLY bad game like Shadow the Hedgehog, wouldn't you be the least bit hesitant to buy a new game produced by him? Takashi Iizuka's track record isn't nearly as illustrious as Miyamoto's. I think it's more than reasonable to be a little weary of the title and reserve judgement before trying it. I liked the original NiGHTS, but I don't love it like I love Zelda.

Apparently, it's being developed by Sega Studios USA and directed by Takashi Iizuka. He's worked on Sonic Adventure 1 and 2......... and Shadow the Hedgehog. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but there's no way I'm going to spend $50 on NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams without renting it first.
