Today's random thread is incredible. It's actually based on randomness! Which works so great with the new funhouse name. The synergy right now is incredible! Also, I realize I missed a day and I apologize about that. I saw a late night showing of The Shallows and forgot about it when I got back. Learning curve!

There were three names my massive Mafia PM did not get successfully sent to: animecyberrat, Oblivion and TJ Spyke. The bannings on those names prevent them from getting e-mails although they were part of my list. Fortunately, it didn't prevent the message from going though to the other users. And if you are reading this and don't know what I'm talking about, that's what you get for never playing Mafia and missing out on forum secret fun.

Yeah, I used to do that too. I think we all agreed that stalking the online list was a dick move though.

Yeah, that was the Maxi's favorite thing to talk about.

Early on, on the former PGC forums, when we were first playing, I discovered the online list there and would use it. My belief was that a lot of mafia members or role players would be checking to submit their night actions at that time of day. I think it may have helped a bit at first. I remember doing it a bit and it helping with my deductions but over time, since players could send in orders at any time of the day, it proved to be less valuable or I just found better methods. I know I'm always trying to eliminate advantages in the game too. By the time we made the switch to our current forums, I'd pretty much stopped checking it out since I really don't think there's any great info to get from it aside from maybe seeing that a user is sending a pm and that is a pretty broad action. Haven't bothered with it for years.

I think Maxi was just using it to hassle people. If he sent messages to people and saw them online but not responding to them or players online but not posting, then he'd pester them all about it. I think that was the bigger reason people started hiding their online status.

Well it was a good way to pick out the active players, and a clever way to try and force dialogue on it either via PM or through the main day threads.

PS- Hate that I had to pull the "life" excuse this game. Was my own undoing. I'd have voted for me too... Actually, I should have voted for me and acted like I wanted it, like I was a special bomb character or something.

It could be worse. You could have offered to make an alliance with Dasmos only to find out something that made it almost certain that he was mafia forcing you to vote him out on day one.

Looked into it. I don't have the ability. I'd need to be in the Admin level to do that. Unless the admins around here want to give me access to members and membergroups in my moderation abilities. Membergroups is how you get different colored usernames like the Patreon supporters or moderators.
