TalkBack / RE:Quebec Getting More Games in French
« on: August 17, 2007, 10:23:30 AM »
Le Parti Québécois is still trying to achieve independancy, but the timing is just not right, that's why they aren't pushing it right now. That law is really retarded, I mean, it's nice for kids who generally only speaks french, but that's about it. I'm also afraid the extra development costs generated by the translation of the software will be handed down to the consumer. This is annoying considering that games are already more expensive in Canada then they are in the US, wich is a nonsense considering how the US and Canadian dollar are currently on par with one another.

Does that mean games in Quebec will be released later then their "untranslated" counterparts? If so, screw that deal, I'd tather get the game in english on time rather then in both languages 2 months later =/

Nintendo Gaming / which puzzle game should I choose?
« on: June 29, 2007, 02:55:46 AM »
Hey, I'n wondering if I should buy Planet puzzle league or Puzzle quest DS but I really can't decide which one I should get. I might eventually get both anyways but as of right now i'd appreciate some inputs on those games. What I wanna know is which game. in your opinion, is worth the most bang for the buck?

Thanks!

Nintendo Gaming / Wii component in stores
« on: December 28, 2006, 04:44:35 AM »
Are the Nintendo brand component cables available in store yet?

Should I just order online and wait a few years for them to arrive in the mail?

Thanks

In Quebec it does not work like that.

It goes like this

Kindergaden
Elementary School (1 to 6)
High School (1 to 5)
CEGEP (3 years if you end there, 2 if you proceed to university)
University ( number of years depends on your "partying" level... )

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Twilight Princess Spoiler Discussion Thread
« on: November 29, 2006, 07:04:57 AM »
I have a question for those who have beaten the game, (or got every piece of hearts);

In Hyrule castle, there's a big room north of the first floor that I can't acces. there's 3 chests in there, and one of them is probably a small key for a door leading to 3 more chests (just beside the boss room). There's a triforce sign facing the wall i'm trying to get accros, and when I step on it and talk to Midna, she says that there must be a way around the wall, and that it would be interesting to get on the other side.

And the piece of heart question:
Is there a piece of heart among those chests? I'm 1 piece of heart away from having my 20 hearts. When I talk to the spirit lady in Hyrule Town, she shows me the same screenshot over and over....and I've gotten that piece. So I'm guesssing my last piece is in Hyrule Castle

Oh and BTW, does anyone knows if it's worth it to gather those 60 poes? They are hard to find...need 28 still whereas I only need 4 more bugs

Thanks!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zelda's Hidden Skills
« on: November 22, 2006, 07:29:08 PM »
I noticed that the order in which order you get the hidden skills is the same regardless of which stone/wolf/skeleton knight you use.

In other words, if you would have missed the first one (the ending blow) you would have been taught the ending blow on the second stone. With that being said;

Stone #1: Just before the Forest temple.
Stone #2: Just before the zone where you warp into Death Mountain (where there's a bunch of geysers and archers).
Stone #3: It's near the lonely house down below Zora's domain.
Stone #4: Inside the lost woods lost woods.
Stone #5: ?
Stone #6: ?
Stone #7: ?

Like I said, the skill you get is independant of the stone you get to. You get the skills in that particular order;
Skill #1: Ending Blow
Skill #2: Shield Bash
Skill #3: Back Slice
Skill #4: Head Crack
Skill #5: ?
Skill #6: ?
Skill #7: ?

So yeah, hope that helps...everybody feel free to post the rest (haven'T got to 'em yet), maybe that can be of some help for someone.

Nintendo Gaming / Component cable confusion
« on: November 14, 2006, 11:47:50 AM »
So when are those coming out exaclty?

According to many websites, they will be available on the 19th, but only at online retailers.

However, if you look it up at Amazon, they state they come out on decembre 10. And PGC says decembre 2.

And now I just read a interview from Perrin Kaplan at gameinformer, and she states that the componenet cables will be available on launch online and at retail stores.

IGN.com reports that a nintendo rep said that the component cables would be available on the 19th, only at online stores (Nintendo and EBgames to name just two)

So can you guys make any sense of all that contradictory information? My dad just lent me his 32 inch TV after buying his new plasma HDTV..so no I have component inputs....and I wanna take advantage of 'em ASAP

Nintendo Gaming / Wii figures in Canadian stores
« on: November 08, 2006, 09:26:33 AM »
Today I walked into a Toys'R'us in quebec in order to pick up pixar's Cars DVD for my brothers birthday. I couldn't help myself to run into the video games section to check if they had any Wii stuff around.

Might have been my lucky day because I tan into a Nintendo rep who was haning Wii publicity all around. We chatted for a bit and I learned some cool information (might not be all that new, but all the news regarding that matter only convers US stores...)

She told me that big stores who did not accept any preorders like Wal-Mart would have between 60 and 90 Wiis for sale at launch. When I asked about remotes and games availability, she told me that those stores would have enough of stuff to satisfie most customers. She also said that Zelda might go into a shortage rather quickly tho, because they pretty much expected 1 zelda to be sold per Wii (which I guess means stores will have more Wiis then individual games). All in all, she seemed pretty confident that every hard-core nintendo customers would be able to walk into a store on launch day and get a Wii.

As I was leaving the video game section, I asked the store clerck if they were still taking preorders for the Wii. I was expecting her to say something like "no we stopped taking 'em a while ago. But instead she answered that they had not taken any, and that they wouldn't. Then she told me that they would have 45 Wiis on launch day, and only 12 PS3s. She said they would not open earlier tho (but since they kicked off their holiday schedules, they open at 9am instead of 10am)

So to sum it all up:

Canadian Wal-mart Wiis at launch: between 60 and 90
Toys'R'us Wiis at launch: around 45 (I say around 'cause I can'T say all toys'R'us will get the same amounts

Hope that helps anyone
