TalkBack / RE: Editorial: Desperation Mode?
« on: October 06, 2003, 05:10:53 AM »
After taking countless marketing and advertising classes I've learned one thing: just because the price of a product is less, does NOT mean the product is inferior. On the contrary, when people see products that are pretty equal, the product with the lowest price is usually considered " a good deal." For example,  APEX DVD players have sold handsomely in the market.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Resident Evil 4...Going to the next level?
« on: May 29, 2003, 01:40:49 PM »
Actually, if you recall the first trailer released way back when, there was a shadow chasing Leon around. This character is that shadow I take it. Whether he/she is the virus or not I'm not sure, but if this thing moves through the air like that man Im gonna be poopin de pants. It almost reminds me of the Ring when the girl walks out of the TV and there is a skip where she is RIGHT IN FRONT of the guy! Man... I don't even wanna know how much this game is going to scare me

Nintendo Gaming / Denis Dyack Interview
« on: May 29, 2003, 01:33:30 PM »
Well if you are going to have voices coming out of the speakers might as well not use the GBA. In general, I would just like to play the game on my TV screen even if I have to press start on the game to see the Codec.

Didn't Sega turn up a profit for the first time in a few years like last month?  They need to cool it with these deals.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Where is the Killer 7 video?
« on: May 16, 2003, 07:04:24 AM »
It is pretty incredible how some of the better looking/playing games at E3 were from Capcom

RE4 + Killer 7 = amazingly looking titles
Viewtiful Joe = Amazingly fun
PN03 = pretty good hehe.

If this game costs $39.99+ I won't be getting it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Animal Crossing 2?

Nothing was mentioned at E3 unfortunately. 2004 is what I'm hearing as far as  release date is concerned.

I dont think it would work unless it was $150.00

Nintendo Gaming / Silicon Knights... Next big thing?
« on: May 07, 2003, 08:27:07 AM »
No reason to compare companies. I think they all have their respective strenghts. Silicon Knight has quickly become MY favorite Nintendo developer thanks to Eternal Darkness. But, I still remain a loyal fan of Rare's work and I am awaiting the next Killer Instinct and Conker more than any other game.

It is definately coming. The recent (this week) ads on Best Buy and Circuit City do NOT list the XBOX console at 199 with both Sega games free anymore (bundle deal thing) -- the XBOX is $199 with one FREE game from Platinum collection. I think they are just getting ready to drop the price.

Take from that what you will.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Is Too Human going to be shown at E3?

I wouldn't be a bit upset if they showed a sequel to my fav GC game: Eternal Darkness

Nintendo Gaming / Midway losses, Blames Nintendo- less support
« on: May 02, 2003, 10:23:55 AM »
Mortal Kombat Deadly Allience was a refreshing, challenging fighting game.  Blitz, although the same thing since the original title, was pretty solid. Sure most of their games have not been that good, but don't mock MK this time. The game is excellent and sold well on the GC (most people avoided the GCN version because of the D-PAD...).

One more thing, Acclaim, a company which had developed pretty crappy games for a while, is starting to develop more solid titles (Burnout 2, Xtreme G...) and these titles have sold better than expected. Moral of the story? Make a good game and people will buy it.

Nintendo Gaming / Splinter Cell: 9.1
« on: April 14, 2003, 12:51:00 PM »
I feel bad that I bought Splinter Cell. The camera is horrible and really hurts the overall enjoyment of the game

Oh well, more burnout 2 for me

Hellalujah!

I think it will entice developers to make more games, not necessarily more mature titles. I think we will see drops in prices sooner etc

All good

Nintendo Gaming / Burnout 2: Point of Impact Release Date!
« on: April 08, 2003, 07:29:22 AM »
Did anyone else catch this from Acclaim's press release:

"Burnout 2: Point of Impact is currently available for the Nintendo GameCube and the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system at suggested retail prices of $29.99 and $49.99, respectively."

Can anyone confirm if this is the new price? I see it everywhere for $39.99... a savings of $10.00 would be sweet.

I don't know about you guys, but I liked Star Fox Adventures a lot

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Fans vs. the Third Parties
« on: March 27, 2003, 12:45:27 PM »
It is not as big as it looks. I got most of those games at bargain prices (specially the third party titles). Surprinsingly enough I try to beat the games before I buy the next one. I don't really spend that much money

23
Nintendo Gaming / So what about soccer slam and beach spikers
« on: March 27, 2003, 05:27:35 AM »
Considering how horrible those 2 games sold on the GC, I believe the chances of us getting a sequel are very bad.

I was maybe one of the few people who actually got Beach Spikers the day it was released

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Fans vs. the Third Parties
« on: March 27, 2003, 05:11:48 AM »
It depends. I really just enjoy good games but it seems Nintendo seems to make the best games. I therefore reserve most of my money for those excellent 1rst party titles. Now it doesn't mean I don't buy third party games. I currently own the following third party games:

Beach Spikers
Dr. Muto
FIFA Soccer 2002 Major League Soccer
Hunter: The Reckoning (It was 5 bucks ok? and yes the game sucks!)
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
NASCAR Thunder 2003
NFL Blitz 20-02
Resident Evil
SSX Tricky
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Super Monkey Ball 2

The next three games I plan to get are also third party:
Burnout 2
Splinter Cell
Hitman 2 (depends on the controls...)

First Party I Have:
Animal Crossing
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Star Fox Adventures
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Wave Race: Blue Storm

It is no surprise though that my fav games on the GC so far are MOSTLY Nintendo developed/published games (in order)

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Animal Crossing
Super Mario Sunshine
Metroid Prime
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance

And the reason Zelda is not up there yet is because I've only played it 2 hours so far

Nintendo Gaming / Burnout 2: Point of Impact Release Date!
« on: March 27, 2003, 05:03:35 AM »
Yeah I'm definately getting Burnout 2. I was going to get the original but since part 2 was going to be released like 4 months later for the PS2 I felt kinda cheated. I like the new additions.

Kinda sucks that Splinter Cell is also being released the same day. I wonder which game might drop in price first
