Well, got the game for Christmas.  I'm loving it.  They're are some minor annoyances, but overall it's a very good package.

I'll have to post my friend code in a day or two.  I already downloaded most of the DLC.  (Save for the Euro, R.E.M and Hard Rock stuff)

The DLC has the tendency to mostly suck thus far. Then again, a fairly large portion of the disc's setlist is absolutely horrid to begin with.

I feel like I am one of the few who enjoy the setlist and a majority of the DLC.

Killers and SP songs are must owns on the DLC.  I hope we get even more Killers stuff... and I'd love if they got some Canadian bands on there.  I'd kill for some Our Lady Peace or Tragically Hip...

Oh, and I want to sing some Cake really badly.  Get that on there too!

Cake I'll agree with, but the Killers? Lame. I'll admit Hot Fuss had a couple decent (catchy) songs "Somebody Told Me" and "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine"...and that's about it.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

"Midnight Show", "Change Your Mind", and "On Top"

Fixed.

Now (not counting "Mr. Brightside" which is already DLC) you have about half the songs from their debut album on your list ;)

I have a very large chunk of the overall DLC songs and it's pretty solid so far.

Worth Downloading:
Raconteurs Track Pack (The best DLC thus far IMO)
Classic Rock Track Pack
Smashing Pumpkins Track Pack
Neversoft Track Pack
Eagles Track Pack
Oasis Track Pack (Save for "The Shock of the Lightning" which is boring as hell)
Reggae Track Pack ("Jimi" is pretty amazing)

I would probably recommend those over anything first (on the wii, anyways).

Since the game's been out for a couple months now, I'm going to repeat this question:  How's the user-generated content?  Are there worthwhile tracks on there or just a bunch of garbage that's not worth your time?  Original compositions or hidden-covers?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Honestly the "original" content that shipped with the game is such utter trash, I haven't even bothered to check it out.

Hehe.. you haven't tried playing Fur Elise or "Bee" on expert with a friend and a few alcoholic drinks then. Sure the quality isn't great but theyre a challenge, surprisingly.

As for the user created stuff on the GH-Tunes, I haven't checked it out in awhile but when I did i found mostly video game covers, some were decent at best and I couldn't be bothered to check out everything. There is an option to sort by top rated 'artist' so maybe I'll go check that out tonight and answer your question with a lil more detail. I'm sure there has to be SOMEONE out there with the know-how and the patience to make something worth listening to. Hell I still haven't finished any thing i've created myself.

I found two Muse songs that were cleverly titled as one word to (seemingly) avoid copyright infringement or whatever.  "Time Is Running Out" is okay, but the "Starlight" cover is awesome.  It gets the drums down perfect, which is the best part of the song.  Other than that, I downloaded some Zelda songs.  There's a good Gerudo Valley song, but it's really hard on guitar.

Overall, I love this game.  More than Rock Band.  The major difference is the graphics.  Everything in Rock Band is so dark.  The menus, the song list, the performances.  Guitar Hero is bright and so much more appealing to look at.  The Red Octane guitar is also far superior to whoever makes RB's.  My only gripe is the singing.  The mic sensitivity is WAY too high, to the point where just moving my arm makes the pitch vary wildly.  As such, I'm having a lot of trouble with the vocals.  With RB, I can 5* about half the songs on medium (and I'm not a good singer at all), but in this game, I can barely 3* songs on easy.  (But this is all on the 360 version, YMMV, who knows.)

Oh, Raconteurs... I wish I had GHWT almost solely for their stuff. /fanboi

edit: Actually, I'm going to go with Pale and lust over some Cake too. "The Distance" would just rock, I bet. :D

A lot of the songs on the lists are actually worth a look.

This is probably one of the most impressive charts I've seen:

Figures that Bruce Springsteen is an artist that I would very much be willing to buy DLC of and yet he's offering free tracks.  Ha!

It says it's free until Feb. 4.

Well, the DLC is getting better.  I mean I loved the Oasis and Raconteurs packs...  but man, the classic rock track pack was such a tease.   I want some more classic rock.

XBox Live Marketplace. Hopefully, anyway. I'm not a gold subscriber, so I usually have to wait a week before I can download free stuff... Hopefully I'll have a chance to grab them while they're still free.

I downloaded the "Low" remix for sh*ts and gigs today.  It's very dull on guitar, but fun as hell for vocals and drums.
