IDSA gets a name change
« on: July 21, 2003, 08:25:54 AM »
The folks behind everyone's favorite May expo change their name to the Entertainment Software Association

Even in the midst of fighting battles that seek to limit the sales of violent video games, the International Digital Software Association (IDSA) has undertaken a name change.  The organization will now be called the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), and has a new website at http://www.theesa.com.

This name change will not affect the company's goal of educating the media and the public about interactive entertainment, and representing the makers of video games, as well as putting on the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

The ESA also helps defend copyright issues, and battles on the industry's behalf on tricky legal issues, like the recent Washington State House Resolution limiting the sales of games depicting violence against law enforcement officers.

If you're interested in learning more about the ESA, visit their website at http://www.theesa.com.
