Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Kart Discussion (TALK ABOUT MARIO KART HERE)
« on: November 30, 2003, 04:55:05 PM »
I actually found that when I first played the game (I got it 2 days ago) i didn't really like it that much, my racing aprtner was being selfish and I was getting annoyed. However it's grown on me and I think it's deserving of your review Ty. What some sites do is in the mad hurry to get their review out before other sites is they might play any bloody version of the game, BETA code? Oh well, so long as we review before IGN, Hire it out for a day, write some stuff down and post it, never touch the game again. That's why i tend to like magazine reviews more than Internet ones, because they actively go over their review numerous times before going to print. PGC's system is excellent too where they jot down their initail impressions almsot straight after the game launches and then post the well thought out reviews after they've had more play time witht he game.
Good Job Ty and Johnny.

You know, I cant remeber seeing a Nintendo advert since the "Let's see that again" F1 World Grand Prix ad. But i was watching the Price is right the other day and one of the prizes was a Gamecube++GBA Player+4 gameboy games. Which shits me, why couldn't they throw in a Cube game as well? Anyone watching the show would think that the footage of Super Mario Bros 3 (Which the announcer called new) they showed was the limits of the Gamecube's capabilities. Xbox fucks would be dancing over stuff like that.

Dont worry if he takes it round to your place. A friend of mine ounce brought his over (he needed a suitcase, cos he brought 4 controllers as well) and when he plugged it in I immediatly put the Gamecube on top of it and said "I like the cube's new stand"
he the commented on liking the Xbox's new hat but oh well.
Still that Steve ballmer stuff should be enough to scare anyone from Microsoft, he's the companies vice president. He's a very influeential man, if you look around the web you might find a movie of him getting a whole crowd to chant "Developers, developers, developers, developers" with him. It was those skills that made M$ send him to Australia when Telstra announced plans to replace he OS on ALL their computers to Sun OS, because the didn't like the XP licencing agreement. Really though, he is a lunatic. Play that movie in double speed, the audience sound like squealing pigs (really, they do)
Anyway yeah, for those who are interested this is my list of Nintendo games I need to catch up on and buy.
F-Zero GX
Mario Kart
Skies of Arcadia
Final Fantasy Tactics
Mario and Luigi
Viewtiful Joe
Soul Caliber 2
Prince of Persia
Animal Crossing

I need a job.

I've noticed a lot of you guys have that offical aussie seal of approval in your avatar. I was wondering why you've used the non Australian seal as the template to type Aussie over. I mean our seal is a round one.

Behold! The sleekness of my mac beats all your desktops!

Now i would like to point out the important features. First not the placement of icons. then note the name of my computer and it's lovely icon.
Also see the graphical bar down the bottom, thats my dock, notice the way that both minimised browser windows display small versions of the pages contained therin. Legend of Zelda RPG is highlighted cos thats where my cursor is.
Up the top left corner is something that should be familiar to most of you by now, the small window mode of iTunes.

mouseclicker: yeah no one knows any of the real numbers excpet for those people with the control of the weapons themselves. The source i was reading didn't use numbers that high, Something like Russia having 500 more ICBMs but America having far more (think 800) submarine launched neutron bombs (Less damage, more radiation)
Either way everyone has too many of the things and we all know who doesn't have any Nukes. Starts with an I and ends with Q

Oh yes I love this, but according to my SBS World Guide, Russia actually has more ICBM's than America. Oh well, it's great.

I love the scribbled border that they put around her, it's seriously stylish, I've been doing a similar thing to little boxes I draw when doing physics notes.

www.notproud.com is also a confession site, plenty of golden confessions there.
And a great article i just stumbled across claiming that Apple computers are spreading evil things like Darwinism and Communism http://objective.jesussave.us/propaganda.html it is really really stupid, claiming stuff like the platypus logo of Darwin (apple's open source [read: communist] operating system core) platypus logo is trying to turn kids to satan. I'm serious!

I enjoy the way this thread deteriorated just there. Ben gives us a great post detailing the crapness of Nintendo Australia Ltd (full of readable spelling, I mgiht ad) and some Knobcheese follows up with asking what state we lives in.
Good one.

I think that NAL is really really poor, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that not everything is their fault. For starters, the delay between game releases is because of the time it takes to translate high language games into 4 European languages to release over all PAL territories. It just makes business sense to release the same product in all PAL areas (South America, Europe and Australia) instead of localising EVERY one. We should be more grateful that the far majority of GBA games we get are released very soon after the US, Europe gets them much later than us, yet they dont bitch and whine nearly as much as we do. Is it because we are more arrogant and believe in our own self-inportantance? I think it is. Try to think of Nintendo as what they are, a business, not the charity we think of them us. Who you gonna care about more, the huge growing market, or the minicule, starving, bitchy market on the edge of the world.
I pick the first one.

Problem with ED going TV is that it'll be low budget. And just seem like some cheesy horror show.

Yay! Go warp pipe!
I choose Warp Pipe just because of it's Macintosh support.

Having competeing prgrams could be good in a program development sense, they'll be trying to out-do each other. But considering that neither will be compatible with the other and assuming that they are both relatively succesfull then it effectivly halves the number of players ready to play online.
If it's possible to run both programs simultaneously then this would make the above problem neglieble.

OK I understand what your saying now. That whole comment "I've seen the destructive power of volunteers", I found amusing. So I thought I'ld make a joke out of it.
Still I dont see volunteer work as the plague you see it as, but that's where we differ. I see it as the road to a self orgonising moneyless society, something I would like. Money is the root of all evil.

So, your BLAMING volunteers for being TOO HELPFUL are you? Do you just hate kind people or something? I can just imagine you stating that case to the Red Cross Appeal when they knock on your door. You know, you giving up a bit of money for them would be morally wrong of you.
Good luck to all that apply and does this mean we can expect some kind of Planet Gamecube Version 3? (4 if you include PN2000)

Well the video game industry has financially been in decline over the past few years. Sure sales have gone up, but so have costs and small companies arn't able to survive. Thats why in the last few years there have been a massive number of buyouts and mergers etc. as EA were already the biggest company they've bought out plenty of people from all over the world.

If you guys are still gonna read this, keep in mind I love going overboard with fanatism for communism. I like the idea of the system, I just used this as an excuse to go crazy for a little while. The game seems to take a pretty ridiculus idea but if it's a good game as you say, I'll forgive it.
So basically, to explain my actions, I'm a nutter, i'm left wing, and the game has a silly concept, which is forgivable cos you said it was good (ill trust you)

2369
Oh and willing to take on Nintendo in the handheld market, is a pretty stupid idea.

It wouldn't be hard for someone to freeze to death in the USA. What is someguy got drunk at the pub and passed out while walking home? And it was snwoing?
It'll tell ya what, DEAD! But the media would rather tell you about the murder victim than the fool so you wouldn't hear about it

I'm thinking of emailing these pictures to Nokia, but making fun of multinational corps isn't fun.
Think about this though!
GBA SP=$150 (or something
Decent mobile= $250
Added togethor= $400

Nokia N-gage, a bad gba and abad phone = $600

Now that is just STUPID!

2373
Because those stupid Nokia ads that are littering this forum are annoying me I've taken it upon myself to make some ads that would much better suit the machine.
Ad number 1
Ad number 2

Read mine and post your own!

You need something showing more of her body.
Or just bring back the Tales ones. I'm considering going back to my 'classic' Pic of Chester.
