Nintendo Gaming / RE:Your Perfect E3 Conference
« on: May 11, 2005, 05:06:50 PM »
Revolution lots of it, and DS, maybe even more of it. And Reggie would devour something.

But to make it perfect....

Nintendo would announce that they have bought all rights to the Nekketsu series of games ( River city ransom for us Americans) and will be ressurecting the series like a wonderous pheonix.  They would announce a crazy 3-D fighting game akin to powerstone set in the Nekketsu universe.  This game would be the evolution of the rom classic Riki Kunio.  It would feature a ropbust character creation system, and allow you to play as all the classic characters.  It would feature some form of online.  The graphics would be similiar in style to the old games, but much more manga/anime.  It would be cel-shaded, but feature immense amounts of gore.

Next they would annouce a Nekketsu sports series for the DS.  It would include a soccer game, a hockey game, a basketball game, a baseball game, and a track and field game.  They would all be natural evoilutions of the established nekketsu sports line.  The bottom screen would have a similiar feature in each game, it would be used to play on the spot calls, choose who to pass to, and special moves.  In the soccer game it would give detailed weather reports.  For the track and field game it would be used to do various rubbing action to perform a task.  All would have gratuitous violence.

Finally they would announce a MMORPG called "Return To River City"(Return to Nekketsu High for the Japanese).  This game would have an extremly robust character creation system, so complicated that every single player could look differently.  The gameplay would conist of taking over part of a city and having your gang hold it.  You could join a gang, be a free agent, or just mess with everybody.  It would have open ended gameplay akin to GTA, and would also have just as expansive of a single player mode.  This game would be a launch title for the Nintendo Revolution.  It would have a super slick anime cel-shaded look, and also have kill bill amounts of gore.  It would be a launch title and the Flagship online title.

All of these titles would be playable, and and the Cube and DS games would release within three months time.  The Nekketsu series would be Nintendo's way of staying franchise centric, showing something new, having a cartoonish exterior, and having something super violent on thier hands.  And with Nintendo at the helm the series could finally rise from mediocrty.

Also, if you don't know what the Nekketsu series is google it.  Sorry for all the text...

The Robot Knight, Robotor, Cap'n Blasto, Cap'm Tomo, The Ribbit Knife, Super and any of those, any combination of those, Grand Premier god Of any of those, or maybe Ducksauce.  Watch out For The Super Grand Premiere Cap'n God of The Robotic Warfington Sauce....Me and my friends play a lot of starcraft on a LAN, everygame we have a new name.  But you should just expect Robotor.

Also everyone would probably dislike me after facing me, in multiplayer games I don't like to win so much as I like to annoy.  Unless it's a match with something riding on it.

I wonder how many hot spots they are willing to sprinkle across the US.  I hope they put a lot of effort into all this, so far I'm satisfied, but my opinion could change depending on how this goes.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Will it be called the Nintendo Revolution?

RABicle is my new hero.  Such an idea would be awesome.

I really do want the revolution name to stick, but only if it's truly revolutionary.

I think I have an insane unhealthy desire for this game, everytime I read about it I get real excited.  Ever hear the song "Heroin" 'cause that's what I feel like.

My appetite did not need whetting, why would you do such a thing Bloodworth?  I cannot wait.

Sonic R and Sonic CD would make this a good compilation.  I enjoyed both on my old computer, but my new comp won't run them.  Sonic R was a lot of fun to me.  Sonic CD was just awesome, it had everything.  Loop-de-loops, long stretches of running, Great level design (there are pretty much no pits), the first apperance of Amy the Hedgehog,  the first apperance of Mecha-Sonic, and so many levels.  The time travel mechanic was way past cool, and the special stage was one of the best.  It also marked the first time a cheesy song was used for a theme, and all the music was high quality.

Oddly enough, Sonic CD was the only sonic game that wasn't made by Sonic Team.

One of my favorite things about windwaker was the great character design.  When I saw those little kids it made me happy, just because of the cartoonish style of them.  I really hope this game doesn't go all out realism, the puppet gannon fight was really surreal, and I want more enemys like that.  This game really doesn't have realistic graphics, just very pretty ones, and more accesible ones.

Cannot wait, is there a definitive release date yet?  Or do we have to wait the eons till E3 to know?

Does anyone know how well this game playes on a DS?  That might affect me buying it or not, but I'll probably just end up buying it for Pyoro.

Kirby Killer Dedede, How's this?

I tried to keep the spirit of the original, by copying and pasting directly from it.  Hope you like it.

Oh and thanks for the complements on my icon.  You guys have got some pretty rad ones yourselves .

But Family guy is better, my favorite part of the episode was the GI Joe parody.

If Domo-Kun and Reggie had some sort of terrible child and bought it a DS.

I also added a kitty, 'cause those are still cool...

I find that watching a friend play can really help you spot combos.  I was watching a friend today, and went back and replayed the levels he played through, and was able to remember what was coming up next and where to jump to etc.

Also, how exactly does one preform a backflip, I'm having a lot of trouble with it.

I'm really conflicted on this game.  I mean, it's just a puppy simulator, I already have a dog.  But such goood Famistu scores lead me to belive that I should purchase it, and train a digital dog of my own.  We'll see what happens when it hits the states.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Hardcore Moms?

I got my mom to play zoo keeper for a round.  She didn't like the tiny screen.  The only game she'll play is Dr. Mario.  Although she tried to play SSBM once.

Man oh man! This art direction is fantastic, those shots of Link's emotions are just perfect.

Also in regards to the castle/wolf juxtaposition on the Cover. Maybe this is to symbolise the fact that Link has been removed from the castle, and is now residing in the wilderness. Furthermore the wolf could represent the fact that Link is now alone, as in the "lone wolf" persona. As shown with the fighting goron, Link's normal friends haves abandoned him.  Just a thought

When did the PSP become the safer platform?  I thought developers were going to be a little less nice towards it because its new and not guarenteed.  But no all of a sudden Nintendo is the lower userbased shafted system even in the market they own.

ROBOTOR SMASH!!!!!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Let's Talk Controller

Yeah, in Kirby's Tilt and tumble you were required to calibrate the game each time.

I don't think 3-D could enhance the experience, or even make the graphics better.  It's not actually revolutionary, and its not even that impressive to me.  That is unless I could physically touch whatever objects are being projected.  Also since Nintendo confirmed(I think) that the REV could be plugged into a computer moniter this seems even more unlikely.

That seems like a really messed up system Ruby onix, where did you find all that out?

And to stay on topic, I never really liked the first Banjo.  It was like the adventures of Errand Bear and his oppresed backpack bird.

Controller by Robotor

Alright this is what I want.  Generic button layout, and it can have however many triggers you want back there I don't care.

One side is stable, one side has the gyration technology.  The cord connecting them discourages full arm swings, which is something I am agianst.  I think using one analoge stick and a gryation handle would work very well in a lot of genres.  In an action game a quick flick of the wrist could swing the sword and consecutive flicks set up combos.  In an FPS you move with the analoge stick and aim with the gyration "handle" for lack of better word.  The handle could be used for sweeps in a fighting game, and hadukens would become that much more satisfying.  Tennis games could use the handle for swings, as well as golf games.

The base opens up even more possibiltys, as a rod could be lifted out of it and the controller attached to it like a steering wheel for racing games.  Or the controller could be attached in the same manner as a flight stick for flight sims.

This gyration thing could work really well, the more I think about it the more I like it.

Are the multiple schemes similar in nature to Hunters?
