General Gaming / RE: ITT: PSP Discussion
« on: June 02, 2005, 11:38:59 AM »
I finally got to test a PSP (albiet not at my best as I have a broken arm), and its a pretty sleek system.  The screen realy is all its cracked up to be, very clear, very large, and very fragile.  The analoge nub worked pretty well, but is no stick as it doens't have as large as radius.  The sound was alright, but not great.  It was pretty comfortable, but the nub is in the non dominant position(much like the PS2 controller).

All in all its an alright little system, except for one thing.  The loading times are unacceptable, I shoulndn't have to wait 30-40 seconds to play another stage in mercury.  One of my friends stated that the loading is because it "has to push superior graphics", which is BS.  That and the battery life, even the owner of the PSP complained of this, and after I gave it back to him the battery died.  Also the main menu is confusing, and not very user friendly.

The whole event made me happier with my DS purchase.  Even though Mercury was really fun.

General Gaming / RE: PS3: gaming takes a backseat

Anything that can play Mp3s is awesome. And I've always wanted another DVD player.  I hope the PS3 can play VHS and cassette tapes.  Screw Videogames, I want a media system.  I mean isn't that like the pinnicle, isn't it what we've been striving for?  Multimedia centers?  No more gaming centers but an "everything center"  you know jack of all trades master of none.  Oh man next generation sounds awesome.

F Sony.

Favorite game, cool end bosses.

Clearing the floor, walking to the end of the screen.  Drums kick in a familiar theme, and all of a sudden the dragon twins burst though the door.  After a speech you get dragon kicked into oblivion, and the last boss turns out to be a nerd.  Good times.

« on: May 23, 2005, 07:12:30 AM »
We should get someone to dress up as link and hide in a cake, that way when bill sees the cake he's all yum cake. And then BAM! Link jumps out covered in frosting and the music starts pumping and a cat runs out, and all of a sudden Reggie and Kratos and Link are all fighting a giant PSP.  We can pull that togther right?  I mean its Bill he's totally worth it.

Even though I dont really know you Happy birthday man.

So could you only contact people you don't know?  Or is there a directory?  If this can be used for match-making it'll be awesome,  that way I won't need a lap top to figure out who's willing to play while I'm at starbucks.  Sounds like a neat idea, I hope it gets fleshed out more.

General Chat / RE: I Just Saw StarWars...
« on: May 21, 2005, 01:16:15 PM »
I thought its was awesome.  Despite some of the serious scenes being laughable(partly because of my friend leaning over and saying "Count Doodoo" when they mentioned Dooku), it was pretty well acted.  Knowing what was going to happen was the wierdest sensation ever.  Grievous is my new favorite droid(cyborg?), and I was practically crying when he lost(HOW?!?).  The CGI never really got annoying, and I thought the lightsaber duels were pretty good.

All in All a good film, and one of the better star wars films.  Nothing beats the original trilogy though.

Is it 4 player co-op in the vein of Kirby Superstar?  That would be awesome, and some of the screens remind me of superstar.  So many good games coming, I need to get a job.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: REV: mainstream reaction and press coverage
« on: May 17, 2005, 05:26:29 PM »
The G4 coverage made me so angry.  I just wanted to punch Sessler.  When they did a comparision at the end of the Next Gen systems and Revolution wasn't even mentioned.  And I don't see how they walked out of Nintendo's conference unexcited.  They also dissed on Nintendogs, and Nintendo's "image."

Also, apperantly Nintendo now caters to casual gamers, and Sony and Microsoft cater to the hardcore.  Isn't that a complete role reversal?  When did this happen, shouldn't you be more "hardcore" for owning a 'cube?

BAH! the media makes me angry, why should I care as long as I'm having fun?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: The Return of Chibi-Robo
« on: May 17, 2005, 04:30:55 PM »
I love robots, so this game looks awesome.  I really like the design of the Chibi-Robo, the cord tail makes me laugh.  I wish that the graphics were super realistic, I think it would really add to the feel of the game.  Super realistic graphics would make it more surreal.  Either way this game looks like good fun.

Does the wolf count as spoilers?  Anyways, the wolf parts are exactly as I envisioned, they look awesome in motion.  The thing riding on top of link was cool, and I think wolf links anger is caused because he was turned into a wolf.

This game is gonne be awesome, that trailer was amazing.  It impressed me more than Killzone's.

We haven't seen the controller, which could be the only revolutionary thing.  At the moment we only know of apperances.  We really need a spaceworld...

General Gaming / RE: Sony to show PS3 @ E3
« on: May 16, 2005, 05:06:02 PM »
Realistic graphics aren't impressive because I can turn on ESPN2 and see the same thing.  Art direction becomes more important.  Also I think about how it would feel with that controller.  The spraying sweat did look nice though, but the expressions of the fighters were goofy.  This is all on Final Night Round 3.

EDIT:  A friend of mine just told me that that controller design has been floating around for awhile, and is probably a fake.  I hope so, the thing is hideous.

Wow that design is really ugly, I don't think that would fit anywhere.  It could easily rock of a table.  The controller is just terrible.  It looks uncomfortable to hold, and just looks bad.  And this "welcome chang3" is total BS, It's not a change at all, its just better graphics.  Can't say this gen has shown me anything yet, don't let me down Nintendo.

You'll learn to love it.  In Conker I only used the grenades when the game became boring to me.  I was also the weasel, so they were giant bombs.  My friends later adapted the tatic in hopes to annoy me, but it only made me laugh.  I only annoy in games that bore me.  Just to clear that up.
