TalkBack / RE: Wii Zapper Details
« on: September 11, 2007, 02:20:31 PM »
Mmm, big Zapper shell with the larger trigger in the front. That will probably have a better feel then the wand's smaller B button. Shame the way it's formed will have the Nunchuk buttons be the better triggers. As for the crossbow game, I'm eager to see how it is. I always welcome some more medival firepower to Link's arsenal. That ought to freshen things. Hmm... needs more war hammer or a spear.

Indeed, but I'll miss the ping of the Garand.

So this is what N-Space is up to now. Best of luck to them!

Diddy is a nice addition. It gives Donky a partner in series.

Heh. If Krystal is added, I hope she gets her staff and not some blaster. The staff in Adventure was sweet.

Whoa ho. More Sims stuff.

UERD: Hmm, it is a bit odd. I didn't here anything about EA being Flagship's distro. I thought Hanbit Soft and Namco Bandai had that covered

That cage slam probably only gave them concussions though I do like your jelly idea. As for the cunning villain quip: Not so fast! He has to keep them and beat the heroes first. As demonstrated again here, it is no hard feat to capture the two princesses. Keeping them beyond 30 or so game hours is another thing entirely.
Lastly, go Kirby! Save the girls!

Hmm, I think TP had some of it's thunder stolen by the Wii despite being a launch title? This is a first for Nintendo I think to be having these trailers rolling out on a periodic basis.

>no need to, the owners-to-be will do it themselves when faced with that INCREDIBLE battery life...

Ah hahaha. Indeed. And the 3200 mAH battery pack (double the regular 1800) costs a pretty penny. Don't see the DS needing a pricier juice bottle just to last a long jog on low maintenance.
Though, I guess it isn't too much of a hurt for those that like to plug a device in everynight as a routine.

Sweet.

To be honest, at the time I felt insecure without infinite ammo. I wonder how I will fare now...
Only one surefire way to find out.

You'd think Sony would've learned to not have exploding power sources in the future. Then again, Star Trek always seem to lack surge protection for their screen panels.

I think it's important to remind people that games with low review scores are sometimes more than the sum of their parts. Some people have difficulty believing that even though a game is rated 3.5, it can still be a solid chunk of fun.

No need for that since Gamespot will tell you if it's more than the sum of its parts with its cute little emblems :p

Oddly enough, I have P.N.03 and had some fun with it while taking it's flaws and frustrations in stride. Then again, Vanessa's butt and trailer devulging sure helped things on their way (can't get enough of those hearty beats).

Can't say Alien Syndrome has enjoyed such prepared appeal. I think somewhere along the anticipation line, I was hoping for a provoking dungeon crawling experience (putting those words together probably should have raised flags in the first place) and it seems the game has droped the ball a bit in that respect. Mind you, I didn't take the 3.5 as is and read on to conclude that maybe the rating was a bit too harsh compared to other reviews.

In the end, having a dungeon crawler to carry around is a passing fancy that I feel reluctant to settle lower for. I think licks with Crimson Land, P.N.03, and Summon Night: SCS 1 & 2 have satisfied the itch that Alien Syndrome would have scratched.

. . . now I feel hypocritical since I'm still in want of another Warriors game, a series which is probably just as repeatitive as (if not more than) Alien Syndrome has been reviewed to be. Then again, Warriors does have ancient China/feudal Japan/Gundam...

Ah, it's nice to see these neat little trailers that offer a taste from the game. Love the story bits too!

. . . well, maybe he likes the game, the system, and the system's games? Also, maybe he has the cash to spare and no opportunity cost worries.

Shinobi's back! ...er, wait. Wrong installment.

I hope the infinite shurikens code still works. Then again, maybe I'll learn to conserve ammo now that I'm older.

It looks like it's permanently going to be trophies. A bit of a shame since I liked the doll angle of the first Smash Bros.

This story mode looks very promising from the screenshots. It looks like it will be a grand side-scrolling adventure collecting and crossing all of Nintendo's characters and worlds. I hope there will be plenty of wacky and witty cross-series scenarios! Even better would be specific final bosses for characters or sets of characters.

Mmm, a new take on Sheik.

As for Ganondorf, I hope we'll be able to use his awesome twin swords incarnation from Wind Waker. The Sage Sword from Twlight Princess is fine too. As for his Final Smash, though it maybe a bit safe and lame, I hope we'll finally be able to play as the big bad pig Ganon.

TalkBack / RE: Big Rooster's Tim Gerritsen Speaks Highly of Wii
« on: July 29, 2007, 03:52:39 PM »
Indeed, that was what I was getting at. I was just thinking that dropping a project that a publisher already paid for and perhaps announced would be at least a bit of bad face and a bit of negative morale for some in a development team. I realize it might be naive to think that would people care about such things.

As for Gerritsen should be making a Wii game, maybe after their current game is finished. Besides, it seems he was only applauding Nintendo's choice to banking on fun with "bullet point technical specs" as an afterthought. Perhaps he's too tied up with the studio's current game to be thinking about a next one. Also, this is just another developer/publisher general Q&A and it was inevitable for the System Thoughts question to pop up. I don't think it's something to hold so strongly against the interviewee.
