So Maxi is doing my LEAST favorite method of getting information. Demanding to see the PM message that states what role you are.
I HATE, HATE this method of play, and refuse to go along with it.
If you crucify me for this, fine, you lose a villager, but seriously, lets not go down this path in another mafia.
True and after the slaughterfests that resulted from that strategy, most hosts generally changed how roles were sent out. I know in my case, I will often send everyone a different message to ensure no message concerning a player's role is the same. That way, anyone can make up any message they want to sound legitimate.
As well, I will willingly make up and send any player a message stating they have a role other than the one they do have to use as well. Doing so again makes message checking an unreliable source of information. It also cast doubts on image taking. Sometimes player will show an image of the pm box with the message of their role showing in the picture. Well, now someone can delete the original message of their role and show this new fake message instead. So, in this way, even image taking can be rendered useless.
I just thought it best to warn everyone in case they are basing a strategy on that as well as to let other players know this service is available if they wish to use it or fake things on their own.
Finally, on the first time we tried this game, I had an idea of how to twist the Cube and Bomber Apprentice roles. Maxi was Cube that game so he knew what the twist was. That said, now that the twist is known, I've had a week to come up with a new twist on who is who. So, don't go basing your strategy on what was happening before. It's a new ballgame.
