Hey that makes two of us, it seems like the day I got my N64 with Mario 64 was only a few years back. To make matters worse I remember the excitment I had when Super Mario Bros 3 came out!

oh man...smb3....

remember the ads for that, with all those people standing in like a feild or something, then the camera pans out and its the cover for smb3 with mario and his ears and a tail????

Wow, nobody remembers Steve Killcreek Case.  I am getting old.

This link should explain enough about her...

It's funny, looking up info on this thread was a trip down memory lane.

Anyone remember the the FPS Sin?

I remember when there was controversy over whether or not this game would be on GameCube, and someone at 3D realms finally stepped in and said, "Probably not, because it doesn't have enough RAM".  I wonder if Wii has as much RAM as they wanted FIVE YEARS AGO.
That's my opinion, not yours.

While we're on the topic of 3D Realms and vapourware, there's a Prey demo available. It rocks.

Nice of them to decide to license someone else's engine; the game release is actually a reality!

Duke?  Well I'm expecting him to be all dried-up like Schwarzenegger by the time Forever becomes Finite.

Duke Nukem's time might have passed though, it is a game whose foundation is based even more upon satire and hyperbole as GTA3 or Conker's Bad Fur Day. These elements may still be of the sort that can be executed well, but I doubt that a project so long under development may have these qualities presented to us intact.

The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Duke's time hasn't passed. How much did it take for Duke to rise to stardom? One game. Duke Nukem 3d. DN 1 and 2 never had the quotes, the babes or the humor, Duke's image is based completely on one game. If Duke Nukem Forever is comparable to Duke 3d it will build Duke's image up from the ground again.

And Prey rocks so there's still hope for DNF.

How were you let down?  Teaser's usually don't do much more than that.  Unless you don't like the graphics or something, but I think Duke looks better than ever, I'm diggin' the "Bruce Willis" look.

After 11 years, shouldn't we have a bit more than teasers by now?

Duke looks only slightly less plastic than the guy in the original Starcraft intro movie. I don't know if that's a bad sign or not.

I kind of liked it, but his voice doesn't sound right to me.  I hope I live long enough to get to play the game.

If the game doesn't match the awesome co-op and multiplayer of DN64, they shouldn't even bother...

Isn't Jon St. John doing his voice in the trailer?  Sounded like Duke 3D to me.  Then again it's been a VERY long time since I've played it.

Looks ugly like Prey.  Hopefully it doesn't have bad level design like Prey, too.
