Capcom Studio 4 made Nintendo quality games, but outside of RE, NOBODY BOUGHT THE DAMN GAMES.

Then Capcom laid them off.

That is almost my case for both N64 and GC for me and is very much the case for Wii.

My GameCube collection is just about half and half. It is the case for me with the Wii, but to be fair, the only third-party game I purchased at full price was Monster Hunter Tri. I'm much more willing to pay full for most Nintendo titles.

My N64 collection is dominated by third-party releases but that's only because they've collectively published a lot more titles than Nintendo did.

You also have to remember that Nintendo only reported systems sold and Sony always reported systems shipped.
Shipped most definitely includes replacement systems.

Not to mention that for several years Sony also included systems that were just sitting in their factories (so they hadn't even been shipped to stores yet).

Not quite. They used all those for the first batch of PS3's. Once they ran out they had to stop including BC with PS2.

Not game related, but I am shocked by how many people are buying the gimped version of Avatar. Just the movie, no 3D, no bonus features, no audio commentaries, not even trailers for other movies. Even DVDs released in 1996 at least included trailers, but 20th Century Fox knows that morons will buy the gimped version now and the real version in November.

Maybe people don't really give a crap about 3D when such a small minority of home televisions will even be able to display the movie in that format.  I certainly can't blame people for that.  As for bonus features, those appeal to the people like us but I get the feeling most viewers just see them as bullet points on the back of the box.  To be honest, I have so much stuff to play and do these days that I can never make the time to watch all those bonus features on my Blu Rays/DVDs anymore (especially since the TV that plays my Blu Rays is the same that plays my 360/PS3 games, so I can't multitask using my laptop).

If they wanted to do this for $10, that might be OK. The problem is that they are charging full price for the movie. Why would I pay $18 for a movie that the studio didn't put an once of effort into? The only way I would even consider paying more than $15 for a movie is if I like it and has some decent special features. They could have at least had James Cameron do a audio commentary. I don't see how thy could justify this crap release, they didn't even try to hide the fact that this was a greed-based move since they announced on the same day that they would release the real version in November.

They informed people that a better version was coming, but it didn't matter because people wanted it on bluray at home.  When the next one comes, it'll sell as well.

Anyways, why get bent out of shape on this?  It's what all Hollywood studios do. They try to make money and if people buy it they will keep doing the same thing.  Nintendo is the same way as is Sony & M$ and every other game company.  If they aren't in it for the profits they will not stay in business very long.
