NPD for February...

Nintendo DS - 587.6K (from 251K)
Wii - 432K (from 274K)
PlayStation 2 - 351.8K
PlayStation 3 - 280.8K (from 269K)
Xbox 360 - 254.6K (from 230K)
PSP - 243.1K (from 230K)

Taken from http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=17865

PS3 was once again completely pw3d by the PS2, and is still the Wii's bitch. Wii is officially (as of these numbers) at 8.1 million in the US, with 9.6 million for the 360, and PS3 at a mere 3.8 million.

The PS3 outselling the 360 is interesting. Nice to see the Wii outselling the PS3 and 360 combined and that combined Nintendo hardware sales (Wii and DS) topping 1 million (in February!).

Yep next gen is still clearly dominating the Wii left right up and down. What's even more impressive is that they cost more so consumers clearly care about graphics and game experiences a LOT more than waggle wiggle gimmick gaggle.

The worst thing Sony did for the PS3 was remove backward compatibility.  People on the fence probably would have gone for it with the PS2 and Blu-ray punch if they were replacing there PS2.  New buyers are another story...

Hey guys, I wrote up this like, epic NPD sales analysis for the site: http://nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=15556

Yeah, I know it has its own talkback article, but I think what I've written is pretty meaty, and it even includes sales numbers for some not-top-ten titles: No More Heroes, Prof. layton, Advance Wars, and DQ: Swords!

Yeah, soo... uhhh.... Go Wii! With 1.5 million units the gap between Wii and XBox 360 in the U.S., I wonder when their paths are going to cross...I cannot see it happening by June unless Nintendo somehow turns March, April, or May into a December all of a sudden, but how about sometime in the fall?

I wonder what the PS3's lineup for the next couple of months is. Between Yakuza and Devil May Cry 4, it looks like they're resurgent in Japa... oh... look at those hardware sales. nvm.

Also: Super Mario Galaxy still selling at #38. Hang in there! Family Ski seems to have legs since it's been in the teens for quite some time now. Consistently selling 10,000 each week perhaps?

I'd feel bad about PSP overselling DS if the DS wasn't already the best selling console in Japanese history and the games were outselling PSP's NINE to one.

PSP yet again brings horrible software sales to the party.

Some would argue that "Letter Training" and other "games" like that aren't really games at all and don't belong in a video games sales chart. If you took all of those away then the DS's supremacy probably wouldn't seem so great.

I see "Video Game" more as a statement of Media then an actual description anymore.
