Mafia XL: WWII. 1943.
« on: December 10, 2009, 01:38:28 AM »
The worldwide hunt for the ringleader of the terroist organization and head War Profiteer and all around racketeer continued through the long harsh year of '42. Feeling the heat, the chief of this shadowy organization struck out and crippled the arms supply of two nations. Awakening to the enormity of the threat this organization presented, many nations united in the fight for Justice against this evil foe and to demonstrate that the world has learned something and changed for the better after those three terrible years of war. Uniting intelligence sources from various countries worldwide, a united army attacked the perceived stronghold of this War Profiteer but were unsuccessful in breaching the formidable defenses encasing it. As such, the army has decided to employ the strategy of siege warfare and wait the enemy out. To try to smoke this villain out faster, the armies are blaring the music of that Zoot suit wearing delinquient, Frank Sinatra. That's one artist I doubt we'll ever hear from again once the kid's grow out of that fad.

But that's beside the point. In real news, the country of Morocco was stunned in November when their leader Stratos was assassinated. In scant hours, reports flooded out that a new leader had already seized control and was advocating a policy of pardoning the War Profiteer and his organization. Morocco has since pulled its forces from the siege. While most of the world feels that the Profiteer was the one responsible for the regime change, no proof exists to justify invading Morocco and ignoring the new leader's sovreignty. With the dawn of 1943, a warweary and frustrated populace await developments in the conflict in the hopes that the troops may finally come home and that the world doesn't have to live in fear of a madman.

Results:

Dead:

Stratos - Townie (death by profiteer)

Alive:

RABicle - Voted out - saved by day bunker.

Voting deadline is same as always: Midnight EST. Night actions are due an after.

Warbucks:

Since no one was voted out, there are no extra portions to hand out. Therefore, take you current total and add another $100 to it except the Profiteer who did gain another amount.

Now for some fun. As we know, this game is going to hinge on today's Warbuck purchases most likely. Therefore, I'm going to have some fun ratcheting up the tension by not opening shop until a time between 8:50 and 9:00 pm EST. So, get ready to be on the ball for when the announcement is placed that the shop will be open.

With that, feel free to plot your course of action for the day or goof around by shooting Nazi Vampires, Italian Warewolves and Exuberant Japanese Game Show Hosts.

I guess it's cuz you're the war profiteer. Killing your allies is a great way to frame me too.

Anyway sounds like I'm gunna be late for work tomorrow :).

If you were a normal townie, one who hadn't succeeded in any vote, and bought the vote bunker yesterday, you wouldn't be able to afford the military strike to make a difference.

But I had been involved in a vote out :) And I saved my money and utilised the hyper inflation I mentioned in the dead thread to get even more money.

All right RABicle, I'll humour you.
Answer me this Khushrenada: would it be acceptable for the War Profiteer to place the hit on himself?

I'm nearly certain it would.  If I were the War Profiteer, I probably would have tried to do what happened to me, truthfully :p

Really, the only thing I have in my defense is that Maxi bought an investigation two days ago and investigated me.  Had he not, he would have had enough money for a military strike yesterday.  He's dead now, but I guarantee that had that investigation turned me out as the profiteer, he would have announced it before he died yesterday, since I would be the only threat left, had that been the case.

There's no other evidence, I was mistaken about the vote RAB made the other day.  I know that's enough for anyone playing, but why would RAB go and admit what he is?  There's just no reason to do so at this point.

I can't believe I forgot to cut and paste the Warbuck shop. I'm not typing it out. You should know what it is by now anyways. Oh, and this is not the message you are waiting for.

Sorry, so I have been out of internet for the last couple of days. I have my phone but the internet is pretty dodgy. Who wants to explain to me what's been going on? Or how to actually play this game.

Yes. This game is over. With a difference of 00:00:11 seconds, Great Britian breached the defenses of the War Profiteer. The Allies have eradicated all threats and brought justice against those committing war crimes.

We shall prove ourselves once more able to defend our forum home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. Even though large parts of site and many old and famous threads have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Moderator rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Forums, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our board, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the funhouse; we shall never surrender!

Oh wait the game over? With America and other other enemies gone, nothing shall stop us! Muhahaha. Long live the second coming of the British Empire!

What about Superman, now?  I've been thinking about moving the Fortress of Solitude to the entire face of the Earth.  You and your nazis will have to go underground.
