Yeah, it's an RTS, just in a different style with the side-view map instead of one that's top-down.  Since I was just going for basic gameplay, I didn't get very far, but you got the gist of it.  You start out with an elf, harvest crystal to make more elves, then eventually your spawning point can level up to make fairies who can attack with bows.  There are also those pedestals with the round crystals on them which serve as guards and fire blasts at any approaching enemies.  I'm sure you'll get all kinds of units as you progress through the game.  There are some funny character names too like Margarita Frozen and Amaretto Vergine.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

lol.  Though from the look of the video this game could really be enhanced by the Wiimote pointing ability.

Pocket Pool, Gameplay

I don't really suggest you watch them.  Actually I avoided watching as much as I could while I recorded today.  I just looked towards the screen once in a while to see if it was over yet. I'm tearing this thing up in my review so look forward to listening to that.

Yes, do please shred Pocket Pool to the lowest of pits from hell.

I hope you review Odin Sphere, that game looks freakin' gorgeous...my judgment could be wrong, but on Friday I got a slim-silver PS2 just to play that game when it comes out next month, in the mean time I will be playing God Of War I, then GoW II, then Okami, and then whatever else that I should have played instead of being so obstinate with Nintendo.

GrimGrimoire looks good too, but I just didn't synch with the gameplay mechanics.

I'll be amazed if you're finished with Okami by next month.

Grim Grimoire and Odin Sphere are actually both by the same developer - VanillaWare.  Although, I think it's quite obvious from the art style.  I don't know if I'll be reviewing Odin Sphere, but I saw some of the videos we put up and it does look nice indeed.

"I'll be amazed if you're finished with Okami by next month.  "

It is that big eh, then I might have to reconsider which game/s to play after GoW II, ah well.

"Grim Grimoire and Odin Sphere are actually both by the same developer - VanillaWare."

I was looking for whom developed Odin Sphere and when I finally got to the VanillaWare website I was surprised that they also made GrimGrimoire. It is so cool that there are still companies out there willing to do these 2D games. VanillaWare should really consider to make some 2D-Sidescrolling-Action-RPGs to the Wii, and in full glory widescreen with an incredible and luxurious art-style.

lol.  I wanted to do the exact same thing, minus GoWI I already got to the end were it was impossible to jump up the cliff on my version of it.  Silver PS2 and all.  Though today on my way back to work I realize that I'm to busy to supplement another console...

Battle Lode Runner, Gameplay
I did this as an addition, since last week's was just battle mode.  It still should have gone up sooner, but oh well.

I still have no idea what Shockman is really like.

I think I need to update this title thread again, must think of something incredibly witty....

Bloodworth, I hope you're not the guy responsible for trying to make these countdowns "cool" by using quick two-second video clips and splicing in semi-random, supposedly funny audio/video snippets.

While the content itself isn't bad, I would much prefer a format that didn't insult my intelligence by trying to look like an MTV commercial.

While what you're saying is true, you have to respect actual content in a video about video games.  After watching G4 a few times, I thought I'd never see the day.

I'm not really responsible for any of that, but I think most of the funny stuff is funny and it's all relevant to the subject, whether they're commercials or shots of the consoles or footage of the game.  I'm not really sure what you're referring to though. And we are part of MTV Networks actually.
