Nintendo Gaming / May not be Nintendo, but anyone up for some MW2?

Really the only thing I can stand playing anymore and was curious if anyone is up to play some today? I usually play team tactical, so a team of 3-4 would be great :). I am playing on xbox BTW

Would Xenoblade be considered open world? If it does, then I think that is the best open world game :)

Hmm it depends. The server for the game will be closing when Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U comes out and that comes out in March 2013. That's 6 months from now and it is possible to get up to HR 51 and beat the final boss in that timespan. I will say that I did in about a month or so just jumping online and playing with everyone here. The game takes what you put into it and if you are able to play daily and post here you want to play I can usually hop on to play with you.
Oh I see. Well, I do plan on getting a Wii U by then (Need it for Bayonetta 2), so maybe it might be better if I wait for that one since I would imagine a majority of people in this forum are going to be getting the game as well, especially if they are going to be shutting down the servers :(. I am definatly getting the 3DS version as well, so I can look forward to that too :)

Great episode guys... and I am not just saying that cause my email got read xD!

1) I was tempted to not listen to the Walking Dead discusion because I was afraid you guys where going to spoil Episodes 3 and 4 (still playing 2 currently, might restart episodes 2 since it has been so long since I last played it), but you guys did a great job of keeping the spoilers to almost none! I agree with you guys on what you thought about your quick purchase of the game. I got the first episode of Walking Dead for free by being a PSN Plus member and after playing the first episode in one sitting (started at 11:30 at night and stayed up till 4 playing it), I was amazed at how good the game was. I bought the season pass and called it a night... or day I guess xD.

2) SWEET! Can't wait to hear you guys discuss Final Fantasy 5!

3) Extremely happy to hear Guillaume talk about Persona 3. Become a HUGE fan of Persona after beating Catherine and having about 20 recommendation to try Persona 3 or 4 since I loved Catherine. I am jelious that you have played Persona 4 since I can't play it (Once the Vita one comes out, I am tempted to get a Vita just to play it), but I have played Persona 3: FES off my PS3, and I have enjoyed it quite a bit. Have about 35 hours into the game right now and at about halfway point. If I had to compare it to anything, I would say Catherine is VERY similar to the game (not an RPG, but the structure and the way you play is a lot like Persona 3). Aside from that though, I can't think of anything. I really enjoy the Anime-Influences found in the game. I think it's my favorite part of the game actually. I feel like I am part of this bigger world and the social link system actually helps you care about what you do and helps you get attached to these characters. It's even more prevalent in FES because you can't control you party memeber and even though I cringed at this idea at first, I learned to deal with it and I actually thought it helped me connect with the characters better. IDK, maybe I am looking into it to much, but I am glad to hear Guillaume enjoys it. Maybe it will persuade some of the others to play it too :)

I haven't finished the episode yet, but if I hear anything else, I will post it up :)

Friendship was Magic got 2nd by 1 vote. The top 3 votes in September Top Ten was only separated by 3 votes. Here was 3rd place.

You know, I really liked this one too. It wasn't what you find in your typical PMV and it's a really catchy song!

Right now, I am really digging Virbank City's theme from Black 2 and White 2, but my favorite of all time has to be Lullaby for Trains. Such a beautiful song and a great one to listen to if your feeling down or just want something good to wake up too :)

I finally got a chance to watch Friendship was Magic (I think it was like 3rd or 2nd place in the top 10 of September) and maybe it's because I really like Bebop, but I feel that video is done really well!
You know Maxi, I got into the series for the same reason. Back when Season 1 had just finished, I watched the show with some friends based on some of the PMV's that I had seen and I was just shocked at how enjoyable the show is! Then again, anything done by people with that much animation experience is hard to top.

TalkBack / Re: Angry Birds Trilogy Review
« on: October 10, 2012, 05:44:58 PM »
LOL! This should of been an eShop title. I know Angry Birds is popular and all, but I think people like it because of how cheap the game is (price wise, not content wise). With a fanbase that is used to paying no more then 4 bucks for each game in the series, 30-40 bucks seems like a huge asking price to have it on a system they probably don't have. If they do have a 3DS, they most likey have a smart phone with Angry Birds on it already, which they hardly ever play to begin with (that is my case anyways). However, if this where say a $10 eShop game, I think more people would be willing to fork over the cash for it, espically since these games have already been on iOS and some browers for quite some time now.

I mean, it's already bad enough the ports are just ok and the 3D isn't done very well, but even if they where super good with awesome 3D and had an amazing street pass feature or something that made it worth getting, I feel the asking price is still to much.

When did Episode 4 come out? Is it out on PS3 yet? I didn't see it on PSN yesterday, so I might just be missing something.

The game came out on PlayStation Network yesterday, and Xbox Live Arcade/PC/Mac today.

Ah... so then it just came down to either me missing it then. I'll download it sometime this weekend then. Maybe by then, it can motivate me to play through episode 2 and finally catch up to everyone else so I can stop avoiding spoilers xD

Indeed, 65 hours is a hell of a long time. It's for that reason that I'm going to be avoiding longer games if I can, for a while at least. The amount of time I put into Xenoblade and Monster Hunter Tri is kind of gross.

I feel thta way when it comes to the time I have spent on Bayonetta or Brawl. I am always dissapointed when I see just how many hours I have spent on games I am already beyond done with instead of moving onto games I should be trying to finish so I can move onto newer games xD

I have the game and I actually find it to get pretty boring pretty fast. At the beggining, it's cool, but once the whole AR thing starts to get tedious and you start getting really sick of having enemies spawn back 4 seconds after you beat them with battles that drag on and on and the fact the game forces you to constantly spend hours grinding to make it to the boss, it's really old really fast.

I enjoyed it for the first 4-5 hours, but around the 10 hour make, the game overstayed it's welcome, which is a shame considering there are so few RPG's on the system, let alone ones you can pick up for under 10 bucks.

The BluRay set for Episodes 1-4 technically releases at the end of the month, but TRSI regularly ships discs out as soon as they get them in so mine are already on their way.  The Episodes 5-8 BluRay set comes out in mid-November.

Got it. Doesn't the Black Lagoon BluRay come out around that time too?

65 hours? My god... that's a lot of time I don't have xD. I still need to beat both Xenoblade and Last Story! I mean, I guess I also have FF13... but I am at a point in the game I really don't want to come back to and my progress in Persona 3 is more of a on and off thing... *Sigh* I really hate it when I have to many RPGs on my plate. It makes games that are over 30 hours that aren't on my 3DS really intimidating to start up... Maybe I'll save it as a game for the summer since there is never any games coming out around that time and I'll have plenty of time to invest in games I will want to catch up on :)

I started playing this on a saturday night. My girlfriend had just left my house I figured I would play the first episode since I got it for free off Playstation Plus and I needed to stay up to make sure she got home. This was around 10:30 or so. Fast Forward to 4 AM that same night and I had manged to beat the first episode in one sitting. It's a really fun game and makes me really interested in trying out other Adventure games like this (this is the first one I have played). I still have yet to complete episode 2 and I might even restart the episode since I have kind of forgot where I am in the episode and wasn't really paying attention to what was going on, but I agree that it is a great experience. I am sure I will get a chance to play it when Halloween comes around since it fits the mood and all, but I can't wait to jump back into this series.

When did Episode 4 come out? Is it out on PS3 yet? I didn't see it on PSN yesterday, so I might just be missing something.

TRSI actually has a sale going on right now for Funimation DVDs/BluRays, so I finally got around to ordering a copy of the Welcome to the NHK DVD set for $20 (& a $30 copy of Hellsing Ultimate v1-4 BR).  I watched the whole thing on Funimation's streaming site a few years ago, so I'm actually looking forward to rewatching it soon.

I find it really funny how some places are charging so much for the NHK DVD. My best bud said he went to anime convention in Tennessee and they where selling it for 80! I got mine for 20 at Bestbuy and when I went to Anime Expo saw it for 25 with plenty of copies to spare.

It's a great anime to rewatch. There is so much forshadowing and references to future events. You can easily catch them too, espically in the opening scene of the first episode. You will enjoy it.

Is the Hellsing BR already out? I was going to grab that for my GF for Christmas, but I thought it doesn't come out till November. That is another anime I need to see as well...

Da Jarvis, there are definitely some folks who prefer Demon's Souls to Dark Souls but overall I'd say most people who are into one love them both and as far as favorites go it's probably split down the middle. I love Demon's Souls as well but I think Dark Souls made some great improvements in terms of the systems in the game (particularly the bonfire, magic, and healing systems) and I also love the fact that the entire world is connected and open (as opposed to Demon's Souls which was split into a series of disjointed levels connected by a hub world). You should definitely give it a shot sometime!

I see. Reading about the whole open ended part of the game actually makes me a little more interested then I was before. Quick question though: As someone who has never played both, would you recommend I play Demon Soul's first or would it be ok to just go straight to Dark Souls?

In any case I found a pretty nice banner someone made on DA for the occasion.

Wow. That looks incredible. The art, music, and video content the community constatnly creates is one of the best things about being into the show. Even though I have been waiting for Season 3, I think the fan-made content has held me over pretty well :)

Because even Nintendo needs to fallow its own rulus. Even Iwata only has one pink piece of any new streetpass puzzle ^_^

Now I think about it, there are three more games that come to mind when I think of really good Title Screens:

1) Halo: the first game not only has a powerful score, but we also get our first glimpse of what we will be on for the rest of the game. This flooting ring in space just spins round and round, waiting for you to explore it. Plus, who doesn't like the Halo Theme Song?

2) Braid: The fact that this title screen is just so intersting because it's so mestrious and as soon as you start the game, the title screen goes right into play. You start walking and then the game get's started. Really kind of cool I think.

3) God of War: This one is more of a personal pic since there is nothing to special, but I love how as soon as you start the game, it zooms away from his face and show the player Kratos preparing to jumping off the cliff. It's a really intersting reference to The Odyssey, but I just really enjoy it none the less :)

Intersting that it took me this long to find a Pony thread in this board xD.

Anyways, anyone know when Season 3 is going to start? I remember one of the songs was released online by Hasbro, but aside from that, I haven't heard anything.

Wow. I didn't realize how much people liked Demon Souls. I mean, I know the first has a HUGE fallowing, but I always remember hearing that people where really upset and dissapointed in the second game. Hearing all the things everyone is saying about the game devenatly peaks my interest, but it's difficulty and the fact I am never home to play my PS3 anymore makes me really reluctent to give the game a shot. Maybe over winter break I can go ahead and pick it up for cheap and try it out, but when that time comes around, I'll Assassian's Creed 3 and Xenoblade I still want to beat. My backlog right now is pretty big and I would hate to just add another game into the list of games I need to finish over that time frame is all. Still though, this discussion has peaked my interest quite a bit.
