It's funny, the last time I subscribed to Nintendo Power, it was for the Collector's Edition Zelda Disc...this is almost as good a deal, definitely going for it

Cuz it's a GUIDE (el horrible Nintendo Power gift idea), not an ARTBOOK.

If they cut out 90pages of text and left only the pictures, the situation would be different.

Nintendo: "The Zelda: Twilight Princess Player's Guide and Soundtrack CD will begin shipping the week of November 28, 2006 and will take 4-6 weeks for delivery."

Me: "By the time this thing ships most of you will probably have progressed quite deap into the game..."

Pro666:  "I'm tossing the TP guide in the trash ... just another dead tree."

Think of friends, sell it, give it away.... something.

I like how Nintendo.com won't let me tell it my full last name because it thinks it contains unacceptable words.  The "Kock" in my last name is not a clever way to spell a slang word for penis!

Hah hah, I have a friend whose last name is Mail and Internet forms always tell him to enter "a valid last name", which of course means he has to misspell his own name.  Programmers apparently know everything I guess.

As for you people throwing guides in the trash- I fully expect to be done with the game by the time the guide arrives.  I don't know about you.

the guide is just for the artwork for me, the sound track is the sweetness , Np is probably not going to have demos in favor of online distribution
NWR has permission to use any tentative mockup/artwork I post

And I was so sure I was going to let my subscription run out again.  If I do let it run out, it'll be the second time I gave up on Nintendo Power...the first shortly after the GameCube came out, and now shortly after the Wii comes out.  Which isn't exactly ironic, but it's at least somewhat weird since you'd think I'd be more likely to subscribe when a new console is out, but it really depends on the resubscription bonuses, since I get my information via the Internet.

My original subscription began in Jan. 1991 when they gave out copies of Dragon Warrior for the NES.  That's what we need - full games.

At least these days you'd think they could pack some Wii demo discs with Nintendo Power.  I was hoping for GameCube demo discs...

Anyway, yeah.  Zelda.  Music.  Good stuff.  Every time the Zelda overworld theme is remixed for another game Koji Kondo should get another billion dollars.

Same here.  Of course, back then I didn't do it for the magazine, just for the Collectors Edition disc...

This time, though...since NP has gone from "bad Nintendo rag" to "Pretty Good Magazine Which I Actually Look Forward To Every Month", it'll be well worth it.

I am also glad I waited until a good bonus like this came along.  WOOT WOOT

To clarify, NP is a "bad Nintendo rag with 1 or 2 OK bonuses per generations and small chances to win their mail-in contests."  There isn't anything substantial to look forward to every month.  Only once a year. at best.

Granted, I first subscribed to get the SSBM Orchestra CD, and I won a Logitech Speedforce Wheel Package a couple months later.  But I've been holding on just to get some yearly bonus that justifies the $20 subscription and maybe a chance to win something neat.

The content is as shortlived as a daily visit to [insert boring Nintendo fansite here].

Thanks for listening.

I saw that yesterday and I would have bought it but the soundtrack has only like 6 songs on it.  The Shield and Sword is plastic.  They look nice but for the price I want them either to be made out of metal or have a detailed Link figuring with them.  If it was $29.99 I could justify it.  Plus their box is good for keeping as a collectible but terrible for display.

Cool deal, thanks for the heads-up.

Also, if any of you are interested in the Zelda soundtrack but don't want to tempt yourselves by buying the guide, you can buy this collectible Zelda sword/shield replica set which comes with the exact same soundtrack... only downside is it costs $40 bucks, but total Zeldanerds might want this stuff anyway. Just thought I'd mention it.

Edit: Dangit, I made this post before I noticed this thread had 2 pages. Sorry btw, Ceric, the soundtracks for the NP offer and the replica set are identical.

I figured as much... I think getting the player guide and the Nintendo Power Subscription is a much better deal personally.

I am holding out for a more full soundtrack, including some less-used music in the game. Heck, I wouldn't mind to buy a soundtrack with every piece of music in the game (that is longer than 30 seconds).
Thanks for listening.
