I appreciate the concern, I have true internet friends! But when I leave(and I wont cause UE4's coming to Wii U eventually) I'll still post on and on... in your hearts!

Seriously though I'm not giving myself an E3 time limit, cause I still wonder if Epic will announce platforms next week. So unless they clearly state Wii U is not being supported then I'll think about my future here. How could I hold my head up high after getting so excited? Still I do like the idea of returning with a new funny name and description right below it. I'm thinking "I once was banned, but now I see!"

This is subjective, but as Mario RPG demonstrated to me, a well-fleshed out world and story can be delivered just within the confined universe of that franchise.
Again, for me, shoe-horning in a band of mysterious, questing teenagers and the anime tropes they would likely bring with them (in this case! In another context I might be a fan of questing teenagers and anime tropes) and making their journey the crux of the plot is not a prospect I would appreciate as much as one along the lines of the charming original featuring the characters I already love front and center.

I am sure Nintendo could handle a spiffin game in-house but it would be nice if an experienced Square-Enix team handled it just because they have demonstrated past aptitude and it would be another nice sign of a healthy relationship with a key 3rd party partner. That and they could put in some random Final Fantasy cameo bosses (I AM a fan of some types of shoe-horns).

But really, I just want to see good ol' Geno again.

There's a rumor going around that Final Fantasy Versus XIII (a name which never made sense to me) has been renamed Final Fantasy XV and it's coming to PS3 and (wait for it) Wii U.

Is this real? I haven't completed a Final Fantasy title since FFIX but I'd welcome the main series back to Nintendo home consoles.

People keep throwing around that word but I don't think it means what some of you think it means. In this instance, if Nintendo and Square Enix make a Mushroom Kingdom Hearts, they aren't making a sequel to any Mario RPG or Kingdom Hearts. They would be making a completely separate game. It's not shoehorning if that's the entire point and intention of the project. Shoehorning, from what I understand, would be if say, Square Enix developed Kingdom Hearts 3 but then delayed the game to inexplicably throw in Mario characters. Since Mario has nothing to do with the game, what would he even be doing there?

Wouldn't surprise me if true. Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been in development forever and already cost Square Enix a sh!tload of money. Final Fantasy XIII is the most controversal game in the series and it's sequel FFXIII-2 sold way less then the original. This shows the FFXIII name isn't popular with the fanbase and if Square Enix wants to make any money off Versus XIII, they'd be smart to just rename it FFXV since the FFXIII name will hurt it now.

Plus I wouldn't be surprised if it came to the Wii U since Iwata has shown he's willing to do whatever it takes to get major Japanese third party games like Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter. Since the Wii U will be powerful enough to run PS3 ports, not hard to see Iwata would be able to work out a deal where the Wii U gets a FFXV port.

I don't know, that seems pretty real. They'd have to have access to a theatre and those people and the english with japanese accents... Too bad the video didn't have gameplay.

Well, call me a skeptic, but I can imagine that video done in some college lecture room (is that a pull down projector screen?) and, while I'm definitely no linguist, that sounded more like English with European accents to me.

The cutscene footage isn't new. It's from the gameplay reveal trailer that Square Enix released in January. The logo can't be that difficult to forge for anyone who knows how to use Photoshop and video editing software. Some Japanese characters were removed from the original Japanese title (under Final Fantasy) and the Japanese title is moved slightly to the left, a bit more under the second "A" in "Fantasy." Also, the so-called leaked trailer looks like it was filmed in a college auditorium. So, I'm thinking this is fake but it'd be awesome if it wasn't.

Tendo, it isn't hard to make a good looking logo. Look at all the kids on deviantART making their own FF logos. Also, considering we don't have a PNG of the logo and it looks just like the original one, but XV instead, I seriously doubt this to be real.
